>>28953083Honestly I'll defend plastic intakes, they're light, allow for complex geometry and heatsoak a lot less than metal ones, so on an NA engine that's not ridiculously tightly packaged they're pretty good.Valve covers are less justifiable, being in a lot more contact with the hot engine and oil inside. I guess they save a bit of weight near the top of the engine.Oil pans can get fucked. Too mission-critical and their main failure mode is too catastrophic compared to metal.
