Luv me 2 smoke
Is the zx4rr a decent first bike or should I just not be pussy and get the zx6r
>>28972908You'll outgrow a zx6r after a few days, I would go straight to a Turbo Busa
God I'd love a 2smoke. There's a sexoooooo Cagiva 125 for sale in my cunt, and usually one or two RS250s. Just don't have the time or patience for them outside of a collectible. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-details/202605262707076
Motorcycle engines are NOT ALLOWED to have any sort of exhaust silencing devices. The smallest engines must be the loudest, for no practical benefit. The dumbest niggers on the planet need to be portrayed as the smartest
>>28972883based kawasaki bringing back the two smokes. >>28972912Kek>>28972908I started on dirt bikes as a kid, went through the drz/KLR phase, and just got pic related, a zx6e. It's basically just a carbureted zx6r with a slightly more cushiony seat, and a bit less power. Still has the ram air intake, and truthfully even after riding for more than a decade, I can't see myself outgrowing this bike. You definitely will not outgrow the zx6r. That said, if you're legitimately a beginner, like, never touched a bike or anything with a manual transmission before, it's probably better to start on the 400. As long as it can safely maintain highway speeds, it's a fine first bike.
Today I rode a scooter.They feel weird.
>>28973007That's the evil, wickedness and corruption leaving your body
>>28973007real scooter or some fake ass maxi that is basically a cruiser with floorbard?

Steers nicely, takes no more than 3 business days to get the feedback and see if you enter the turn correctly. Not bad actually, just alien.I might eventually check out a vespa, but looking at their insurance premiums with theft coverage I'm reluctant to like it.
>>28972908Get what you actually want and just don't do dumb shit on it and you'll be fine. Drill the basics after passing the MSF. 600s are fine to start on if you aren't a egotistical chimp that blips throttles like a drunk does with bottles.

>>28972931I've seen good reviews on the 4rr.I think I'll grow into whatever. I'm a complete noob and don't want to go too crazy to start out. I'm not a kid so I'm not worried about being a retard and trying to go 150mph right off the bat either.
>>28973044Yeah, I don't a retard mentality so I think I'd be fine.

>>28973065Well, then go for the 4rr. If you have a source of solid income or you're thrifty and industrious, you can always find a way to trade up your bike if you get tired of it, anyways.
>>28973060electrics are cool, my teenage cousins zip around on e bikes that are limited to 28mph, I think thats perfectly reasonable from 12-16 or so until you can get your motorcycle license and if you live somewhere compact, the e-scooters are also fine, like the segway e300se and similar

Opinions on pocket bikes?https://youtu.be/du395Cj2jEA
This is 20s122101100 cam chain tensioner. How is it supposed to work and how can I diagnose it?Will it just erect all the way out under spring tension when there's no chain pressing down on it?Can I take it out without taking cam chain cover off and aligning the shit inside to a T or whatever? On Yamaha FZ6 they have pretension bolts and it is shipped with a tab you're supposed to take out once tensioner is installed, so it would unwind inside the bike and tension the chain. This isn't the case for XJ6. It just has a ratchet of sorts so it wouldn't go backwards (get shorter), only forward (get longer).
Would you buy a Grom or drz400sm if you were living in sleepy Switzerland? I am not allowed to change a bolt without getting a fine and go max 60km/h on avg. I am a 5'7 manlet but know how to drive a motorcycle. I will also be waiting to see what Ducati has been cooking for the new desmo 450 (which will be street legal )
>>28973304Just get the 400 then. Small bore is only fun if you are going to wring them out. Although, how will they know if you put in a big bore kit?>I am not allowed to change a bolt without getting a fineAs much as I hate Florida I love how cops don't bother you over such stupid things. I just wish transplants would stand in front of the Brightline.
>>28973080>▶you say that but motorcycles have a way of making you drunk on speed and speed is addictive. the zx4rr can go fast too but it will make you work harder to get there.

>>28973469I don't have new one yet. It's like 250 Euros. Also if I take this one out - how the fuck am I supposed to pretension it before putting it back in? There is NOTHING on it from outside, no holes on the housing to manipulate internal spring. IDK how they even install that shit, maybe holding spring from inside engine somehow?
>>28973478maybe rotate the engine to where its loosest and press that mf in while threading the bolt in with your tiny hands and wrench, this is what you deserve for buying a nipshit fucking plastic origami btw
>>28973485I can probably try sliding some thin shit in, blocking the spring, so that shit can be removed just before gasket clamps on install. Some sort of metal shim.>nipshit fucking plastic origami btwAs opposed to obsolete uncompetetive American shit or overengineered Euroburger shit that gatekeeps consumers from manuals nowadays? Don't tell me you're fan of Chineseium. Japanese are the most reliable cars and bikes and they raped every other manufacturer out of market share. This particular POS is just 10 years old, previous owner did fuck-all (didn't even change spark plugs once) and mechanics here all have arms growing out of their ass so I have to learn doing all the wrenching myself.
I took my scooter on the highway today and got up to 65 miles per hour. It felt like 100, though.
>>28973293>>28973478You compress the tensioner and then flip that black latch over the pin that sticks out and that keeps it compressed. Once it's inside the engine and is charged with oil it releases.

>>28973519I get what you're saying, but won't it just release in my hand right after I try to compress it? If I understand it correctly, it's supposed to release to apply tension to cam chain follower. I don't trust the "engine releases it" part. But I guess I'll give it a go. I'm not going to ride the bike while it gives me undeserved carpal tunnel with vibrations.

>>28973546That's what the latch is for. Push the plunger down on a surface like a table, then put the latch over the pin that's sticking out of the plunger.>I don't trust the "engine releases it" partWell, the technician did when he built your engine, as do the mechanics who replace these things for other people. If you can't trust it then just take it to a mechanic and have them do it and that way if it doesn't work it's on them.

>>28973695>650's are where it's at with regards to nice power but so much it's stupid. Motorcycles are awesome anon, ride like you want to ride for a long time.Yeah a 650 is pretty much a perfect second bike. Enough power to have fun, not enough power to insta-yeet yourself while you're still developing throttle control. CBR650R and V-Strom 650 will be the most fun because I4 and V-twin.
>>28973702That's because you enjoy motorcycling for its own sake and not as a prosthetic penis activity. The cancerous retard cruiserfaggot mentality is thankfully dying with the boomers.
>>28973705Yeah I've never met a guy my age with that mentality. I've met a few sport bike guys who are total fags about anyone who isn't on a sport bike but I think they were already fags and the bike just made it worse. Definitely not even close to the majority or sport guys.

>>28973657>too expensive to maintainkinda? the early models had bolts that'd loosen due to the engine vibrations causing a leak. I think thats fixed in the newer models, but unless your racing, just checking the torque on those bolts when you clean your chain or do maintenance on the bike should keep the engine from weepingMy issue with it was that even if you were an okay home mechanic, I think i read needing to go to the dealer for some easy stuff or to clear codes & reset maintenance clocks and I didn't have an aprilia dealer near me and i was too new to bikes to consider touching the ECU

>>28973042>I might eventually check out a vespaI've had three. A modern ET4, a vintage P200, and a modern LML Star 150.The modern ET4 was the best one, but also the most expensive, a 4T, and a CVT. The LML is a knockoff P150, and it was pretty good (it got stolen.) The vintage P200 was a piece of shit, but if you like working on simple motors (I don't) they are apparently rewarding.Honestly just get a motorcycle, or if you HAVE to have a scooter get a fucking Kymco. They make really good scooters but you're not paying a premium for the Vespa name. Vespas don't justify their price. I don't believe any scootet really does, when even an entry level or almost any normal used motorcycle has so much more power for so much less money. No hate, just my experience and opinion.

Before I blogpost, anyone know wtf is going on with PartsFish.com? It was my goto up until it straight up disappeared like a week or two ago.Anyway, I got home today and discovered that the right rear turn signal on my 1983 CB1000C was straight up fucking dangling next to the rear wheel. How it managed to still be there when I had the bike up to 90 is beyond me. Also somehow, the bulb filament didn't get broken and it still works fine. Was completely baffled and didn't know if someone kicked it to be an asshole or something, or how I managed to avoid looking at that side of the bike altogether and not catch it. In Pic Related you can see where the metal shim is warped. Next to it the actual edge of the bracket has been snapped clean like pot metal.I went to look for this bracket in the electronic parts catalog and straight up couldn't find it at first; it turns out its a special Hondaline accessory that you need if you were mounting the luggage rack on the bike; the luggage rack bolts into the holes for the signals and the signals go under the license plate. Fortunately I found a New Old Stock Hondaline kit for it on ebay from a shop in like, Pennsylvania that sold Honda stuff since the 60s. It even still has the inventory and shipping sheets too. I'm not thrilled, but at least I can put in all new parts and it won't be warped to shit anymore.
>>28973877Pic Related, it's some images from the ebay listing. As a certified autist, I love it when things like this come in the original packaging. I also serviced my dad's 1983 VT500C Shadow and pulled the speedometer gauge to be repaired. I feel like I ought to start handing out business cards for that gauge shop in Georgia (thank you again anon). My dad's in his 80s but he managed to hop on the bike and go for a ride.
>>28973819>road6
>>28973710Not that anon but true, bikes tend to attract little dick compensation and napoleon types with a chip on their shoulder that use it as a replacement for thier masculinity. For them the joy of riding is secondary to how cool or tough they look. Everyone I've ever met with that mentality has been an obnoxious person in other aspects of thier life. If those guys got into trucks or sports or anything else they would be equally toxic about it, they were already unfun, confrontational assholes before they ever so much as looked at a bike. Having a clear "outgroup" to focus that attitude on just made it worse.

That was the first one Google suggested me to visit. The whole establishment had the size of a small one storey McDonald's with some scooters outside. The dealer was selling not only Suzuki, but also Aprilia and Vespa. The whole area was devided equally between them and all workers were constantly in Vespa section since ALL customers except me were there buying shitty Vespa scooters (all pairs with girls). Suzuki section had two Vstroms, one 1000DE and one 800 on pedestal, which you have to climb to sit on. Every other motorcycle was packed so tightly that you can't even put them upright without touching the neighboring one, so I didn't bother. I walked and stayed awkwardly for couple of minutes there and just left wasting my time. Fuck Suzuki dealership, I will buy from some other guy who is passionate about riding and wants my money. >>28974239No. My complaint on the bikes performance are top speed limitations given insane drivers here on the highway and cheap ass suspension. Fucking with fueling, short of a pumper carb, is tinkering around the edges, and I don't have time for that shit.
>>28974275Weird, I found 90-95mph to be pretty adequate for highways around where im at. Flow of traffic is usually 65 or 80 at most. Where are you at that people are constantly buzzing you at 100+mph?
>>28974281It's breathless pulling past 80mph for passing semi's here. 4th tops out too early, and 5th is obviously not best for accelerating quickly.

>>28974315While I agree with this sentiment generally, I do think that beginner bikes kind of promote little man syndrome where you feel like you have something to prove to get out of the “beginner” bracket. And the throttles on them give you nothing to respect, you rip it wide open and the bike hardly reacts. It’s easy to think you’ve mastered it when the bike is cutting you so much slack. It encourages you to push harder in a really dumb way. I genuinely think the 650 class is a much better starting point as the throttle response teaches you to fear your bike from the get-go and doesn’t ever let you get to thinking that you’ve “outgrown” your bike. They also have great acceleration so you get the “thrill” aspect without having to focus on making every ride so momentum focused.300’s seem better for experienced riders who want to really push limits imo.But I also wrecked an R3 and moved up to a bigger bike, so I’m speaking from heavily biased anecdotal experience.Plus I think this guy wants an actual sportbike and that would be retarded lol

We don’t even know how he crashed yet, given it’s an R3 I hardly believe speed has anything to do with it.Are you European or something? I’m not telling him to go hop on a liter bike, I was just sharing my feelings that smaller bikes encourage momentum based riding (I.e. less braking) and less fear of the bike which I think is unhealthy.

>>28974412While in most cases I agree with you on 650s / 600s being better starter bikes, there's some people who lack discipline and self control or the intelligence to drill the basics and build a solid foundation to grow from. The little man syndrome for baby bikes is absolutely real, but you need to gel on the fact the original poster snapped his arm in 2 pieces and instead of thinking about what went wrong and how to prevent it, the dipshits first thought was TIME TO UPGRADE. Judging people is important for tailoring advice. I wouldn't tell that monkey to get a modern liter because he's proved he's irresponsible. I'd rather chew him out to cut that ego down so he lives longer to ride longer instead of egging him on to kill himself. I think every single of you forgets that the streets doesn't hand out prizes, the streets doesn't hand out cash, the streets rarely ever hands out pink slips, or glory, or reputation. The only thing the streets hands out is consequences and reality checks. There's nothing to prove because there's nothing at stake besides one's own ego. >>28974941>Adds another fail pointthat being the slave clyinder right? I know from dirt bikes we always ran cables just to not get fucked if stranded. Some people say hydros are like on/off switches, is that true?
dyno tuned finished yesterday, dont even care about the hp gains, its way more smooth on the throttle. these bikes have so much lurch on/off throttle and on gear changes from factory. engine decel is also far less, need to use the front brake a lot more than before. was thinking of selling for a 1k just for the torque around town but now its far more rideable. thanks for reading my blog.

Pretty sad.
>>28974950Had to look it up and I still don't know.I was thinking more of if something goes wrong you need more tools to fix it. Besides just finding something cable shaped. The other thing I was thinking is if you don't maintain it or if has a small leak you loss hydraulic power and cause more wear on your clutch plates without noticing. Since these on more high powered bikes you will be buying expensive clutch plates.
>>28974956It's a sacrifice because it's entirely avoidable by simply having a life insurance policy. But by all means nitpick my words more nobike.>>28974958>roadside fixes are easier The more I think about it, the more I lean to cable. Chucking a emergency cable repair kit seems like the way to go VS being screwed by a leaking diaphragm or crush washer. I can see why crusierbros run cables for their long runs instead of hydros.
>>28974955>engine decel is also far lessSounds cucked as fuck
>>28974941>extend the use (not life) of your clutch plateswrenchlet
>>28974971Crusierbros also aren't really using the clutch that much. So no point adding cost, complexity and a fail point when do you don't really need it.Also did you know some old cars came with three sets of cylinders for different compression ratios.
>>28974989My mistake piston heads* not cylinders.
>>28974973for track i like more engine braking, but on street its much easier to cruise without it. ill always take it, if it means smoother throttle on/off
>>28974989Man, the more I read into cable vs hydros the more I'm tripping over scenarios that most likely will never happen. Currently I have a brembo hydro setup but I came across a cable clutch conversion kit that I picked up for the low. Now I'm thinkin of just selling the CCC and just rock the brembo hydro and forget it. If this was a dirt bike, the choice would be obvious. Clutch plates aren't much of an issue to me because I threw in kevlar plates. Thanks for entertaining the thought.

Not sure if this guy just wanted to play or he was mad at me for cutting in front of him at the light, but I wasn't waiting around to find out. He was doing 100 very close behind me on the service road until I merged onto the highway. I know it doesn't look that fast, because everyone drives really fast in Texas.Apparently that was a Lucid EV and it could have had anywhere from 420-1200 hp, depending on trim level. >>28974917>>28974933>>28974936>>28974941Funny thing, kind of off topic. I never realized how light modern bike controls are since all I've ridden is pic related. I was wandering through the showroom last month and decided to fiddle with the controls on a modern CB, and compared to mine they feel broken. Absolutely feather-light clutch lever, and even the throttle is significantly lighter to roll on. I do my best to keep the cables lubricated, but when I go out riding both my throttle and clutch hands get sore, and I have to flex/massage them from time to time.I'd like to think though that it's building my hand strength, and having to keep a good chokehold on it is probably what keeps it under control. It's like a car pre power steering.
>>28975034Yeah. I think if he was threatening me, he would have been right on rear tire. Maybe I'll see him again soon. Sometimes I gotta roll the bike like 6 inches to get it into gear. Depends on what I just did. That's pretty normal for most bikes. What kind of trouble are you having?
>>28975054The Lucid Highway Saga incoming.Sometimes coming to a stop I can't get it into first even when still rolling, and I have to leave in second. I've adjusted the shift linkage and the lever, but it hasn't helped much. Also, it's intermittent.

>>28975054>>28975060Happens on my croozer too. The gears are just misaligned when you stop sometimes. i think it happens on all bikes. pull the clutch in, roll the bike a couple inches, let the clutch out. Then pull it in and try first gear again and it should work.
>>28974917Hydraulic = lighter = less hand fatigue = better.Ol'reliable cable is not that reliable, I had a few snap. I never had a brake line snapping. But some hydraulics are so light you can't feel the engagement point.E.g. on a 2017 CB500X I had a light hydraulic clutch that felt precise and informative, while on a 2024 NX500 the hydraulic clutch gave as much feedback as a touchscreen, I hated it so much I didn't buy the bike for this reason alone.

>>28975150You're probably right, and it's something simple like that. Thanks
Didn't know CFMOTO had a partnership with KTM and had the same manufacturing facility. Makes sense why all they have is slightly changed copies of KTM bikes and ATVs out of "nowhere".
>>28975362I thought their partnership was a common knowledge.Too bad that in addition to the technical designs CFMoto also adopted fuck-the-customer attitude from KTM. And "improved" upon it.KTM simply sold a DLC for a motorcycle that you supposedly "own".CFMoto went further and defrauded customers, selling a product promising no subscription fees, and then retroactively demanding subscription fees.t. CFMoto 450MT shill
>>28975335Take pictures of the event anon
>>28975362CFmoto made most of KTMs parts for ages. Remember when KTM was having the butter-crankshaft problems that nearly sunk their reputation? They went crawling to CFMoto to fix their manufacturing problems, and they did.CFMoto then, through this partnership, got the plans for several unreleased KTM models that KTM was too poor to fund at the time. That's how CFMoto got to be the ones to make the CFMoto Ibex 450: It used to be known as the KTM 450 internally, until KTM Cancelled it. It's why if anyone says "ew chinkshit" but then ride away on their KTMs, they're literally just paying extra for an orange badge. The two are inseparable now, I don't think KTM will ever go back to manufacturing in-house or in their italian plants after the butter-crankshaft debacle that nearly sunk the whole company.
>>28975383>Too bad that in addition to the technical designs CFMoto also adopted fuck-the-customer attitude from KTM. And "improved" upon it.That's just CFmoto US, all the other branches are pretty chill. The US branch is the only one that's like that because they adopted the KTM fuck-the-customers managers and field offices. CFMoto USA is also a rebadged KTM. t. another 450MT shill
>>28975392Maybe other branches don't try to fuck the customer at the dealership, but their T-Box subscription fraud was defrauding customers after the purchase everywhere except of the USA.This makes them faggots everywhere, just with a different flavour.
>>28975397It's funnier that they did this after the LAST owner pretty much said "NO SUBSCRIPTIONS" outright and then the new guy walked it back "W-wait, maybe a few, a few addons!" And then you go back to try to find when everything changed and ground zero is this event when they opened up their (((US Headquarters))) and hired a bunch of American staff and stopped letting the Chinese branch manage it allhttps://powersportsbusiness.com/latest-news/2023/11/02/cfmoto-hosts-grand-opening-of-new-u-s-headquarters/

I just saw a CT 125 Hunter Cub listing for 4k EUR and I have an impulsive desire to get one.Easy to tie down any luggage, not cramped, low fuel consumption, low weight, will keep me away from highways which I hate anyway, what not to like?Talk me out of it.
>>28975475Post yours and I'll post mine, or my manual car.
Just like all those other times, right kid?
>>28975462Maybe insecure US drivers do as a part of their fragile personality since normies drive automatic. Or the JDM oldfags/poorfags. Everywhere else in the world car enthusiasts want to own a Mercedes GT and floor it on Nürburgring or autobahn or Stelvio pass in Italy.
>erm, akshually, people prefer manual!!
>>28975495>It's "insecure" to manually shiftYou're telling on yourself aren't you anon. Why would I base my enjoyment on what normies do anyway, sounds like fishing for external validation.
>>28975500>Yeah bro popular always mean more gooder its totally not because of market offerings (or rather lack thereof)
>>28975250Coolest anon is just being ignored. I can't imagine why.
>>28975504>demand doesnt dictate what the market offers
>>28975436Being this cute should be a crime.

>>28975502That's exactly what I said. You use it as a contrarian part of your personality. It sounds pathetic especially since normies everyone else in the world drive manual and do not see it as anything special.DCT is objectively a better gearbox in every single way (speed, precision, longevity, usability, fun). Denying it is nothing but a cult at this point.

Yamaha XJ6 anon here.So today I've taken off cam chain lid and the chain had a little bit of play. Here's a video https://files.catbox.moe/m2git9.mp4 I tried rotating the engine with a wrench, and it had uneven resistance, but no stoppage spots. Then I stuck a thick piece of isolated wire under the chain so it remains tensioned, and took the tensioner out. Webmrelated is a video of me manhandling it. Tensioner is springy and bounces back immediately when compressed, but it CAN compress without teeth engaging on anything, despite everything chatbots told me. Is it supposed to compress like that at all? The only thing stopping it from going all the way in on compression is a small spring wire bowtie around the piston.I couldn't figure out how to pre-tension it before putting back in, so I just pushed it in and screwed it back on. The chain play was gone after. I rotated engine with wrench and it was absolutely the same as before. Here's a vocaroo of running engine after manipulations, how does this sound to you? https://vocaroo.com/1g3AHsABFWml
>>28975509Thank you, well said anon. Perfect point.>>28975511Ah ok now I understand. You're a wrenchlet. Save the armchair psychology for plebbit. Enjoying manuals doesn't make you "a contrarian" kek Go get a quote for a CVT rebuild then get a quote for a manual transmission rebuild then get back to me buddy
>>28975434Neither. It is between F450GS and Himi. Maybe DR650 and the mighty KLR too, but not any chinkshit.
>>28975509Bru, I agree with the demand point, but SUVs is a bad example.
>>28975515Oh, that black bracket is supposed to work like a ratchet? It's not even spring tensioned. I guess I will take tensioner tomorrow and try putting it on some teeth
Should I make a website with all ADVs on the market and their basic specs with filters and sorting? Because you definitely can't name me the lightest ADV motorcycle with more than 50hp and ground clearance 200+mm, right?
>>28975526You can make such a website, but then you'll have to advertise it.Even if your website is better and more reliable than slopGPT, I won't visit your website if I don't know about it.
>>28975532But can your slop answer my second question?

>>28975524From what I read the black latch hooks over the pin that sticks out of the plunger, however your webm shows that the one removed from the bike doesn't compress far enough for that to be possible. However, given how easily you're able to compress it I wouldn't worry about compressing it before installing.
>>28975592chong pls you won't convince anyone
>>28975526>lightest ADV motorcycle with more than 50hp and ground clearance 200+mm, right?640 Adventure is around 175kg
>>28975607Your slop is wrong, Husqvarna 701 Adventure is 155kg wet, and the difference is 20kg.
Your local Ural clown has no taste in soviet junk bikes.
>>28975624>Husqvarna 701 AdventureDoesn't exist. You mean the 701 Enduro, which is of course an enduro bike and not an adv. If you want to use that then a Stark Varg is 118kg, also KTM's 450 and 500 and 300 2 stroke are over 50hp and probably around a similar weight wet.
>>28975653Both KTM and Husqvarna are the same motorcycle type no matter how you like to call it.
>>28975660There is no 690 adventure either, just the enduro. This isn't just a matter of what the manufacturer decides to call it, they're stripped down bikes intended primarily for off-road use. Tiny fuel tanks, no provision for pillions or luggage.
>>28975672>Tiny fuel tanks>24 liters on husqvarna Isn't it more than on most GSs?
but what if I want an ADV/touring bike that is cheap, reliable, not too heavy and have more than 80HP?

>>28975526I can, because i ride it, but im not going to tell you, because youll cal it a dual snort and not the lightweight adv that it isAll advs basically start at 350+ poubds, most are 400
>>28975543Majority of SUV popularity is due to women and marketing thesw shitboxea towards themNow everytjing is a crossover and pickups cost 65k starting base trim new

>>28975865https://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/de-de/news/701-enduro-lr.html>>28975850Where lies the line between dual-sport and adventure?
>>28975890Okay so that weight is now going to be increased by around 10kg, looks like your slop was wrong yet again. And like I said it's not just the tank capacity that makes it not an adventure bike.
