how hard is it to change tube type by yourself on the side of the road?
>>28983662How good are you at changing tires? In my experience, the first few times are an absolute chore and then it's pretty easy after that. Doing it on a trail/side of the road isn't much different in that respect, but it will leave your back and knees pretty sore

Would clip ons for my street triple be worth the hassle of install? The bars are fine but I've noticed on longer rides and higher speeds my wrists get pretty fatigued. I've never used clip ons before, but it seems like with a good riser they would be more comfortable than bars

Advice on commuting with a DRZ400SM in the UK?
>>28983887Move
>>28983832Also, nobody outside of motorcycle autists and old men give a fuck about VFRs in general. Why would anyone ride one for attention. People like them because they're good bikes. The VFR750/800 is a just a reliable, old man sport tourer with a great overengineered engine that will go forever, and the RC30/45 and their small displacement offshoots are homologation sport bikes with a proven racing pedigree. So what exactly about a VFR screams 'I do this for attention'. if you have a VFR you're either an old dude commuting to work on it, or some nerd that likes the engineering side of them. In the case of the race replicas, I doubt anyone but cashed up old dudes with nostalgia goggles for the bikes that were winning races when they were teenagers would give a fuck about them.

ERC on F450GS is the weirdest experience so far, clutch-wise.Unlike DCT which provides traction as soon as you rev above idle even a small amount, ERC has a weird gap at low revs where you can feel it almost delivering power to the wheel but not quite, really bizarre sensation as if the bike is asking itself "am I in neutral"? And unlike e-clutch, you can't just grab the lever, which makes it weird for low-speed manoeuvres. Not terrible, just weird. But the bike is nice, at 4k rpm I barely feel any handlebar vibrations.Looks like a big GS in person, feels small-ish and comfy when riding.>>28983898My bank just sent me their "premium customer" card for renewal without an option to opt out RRREEEEEE
>>28983909What was it?

Then I look up Suzuki Bandit, Yamaha Fazer or Honda CBs and see them being sold with 60k on clock. Then I search for VFR (which is supposedly a touring motorcycle lmao) and see the list full of 30yo bikes with 15-20k on clock. >>28984302>>28984346how do you know the nail isnt leaking..there's only 2 possible solutions, the nail is short and didn't puncture the tire, which would mean pulling out wouldn't hurt anythingor the nail did puncture and is slowly leaking, pulling it out will cause it to leak a lot.there is no scenario where it somehow punctured AND sealed itself.over fill the tire, 50-60psi, spray some soapy water over itif no bubbles after a few minutes, it didn't go deep enoughget a tire rope plug kit from any auto parts store just in case. and yes i would personally ride with a plugged tire, if installed correctly they last as long as the tire lasts

The minor service interval on the Transalp that includes inspecting fuel lines is every 12K km. here's the chart for the 450MT, notice it's every 5K kilometers? And CFMotos are the higher end of chink bikes. They're the ones you get if you want a chink bike, and they're still way lower in quality control than your average Honda.
also keep in mind asking the Japanese Anime imageboard about if they should get a Japanese bike or a Chinese bike may result in skewed answers. I'm sure there are people riding CFMotos with 100K miles on them with zero issues and I'm sure there are people who bought transalps and Africa Twins and had the heads explode. So I can only talk about averages for their product lines made in Japan.

>>28985186>Never had first service>Last service was in 2023-2024I'm going to say the catch is that it's been either garage kept or kept out in the weather. Someone got it to try this cool motorcycling thing and found out they hated it. So they were probably trying to dump it the last few years and either the condition it's been kept on keep scaring off buyers or the strangeness of dumping a ~$20000 bike after only 1000km has people skeptical. Definitely ask to see it in person or at the very least, take pictures of the faring, get pictures inside the fuel tank to see if it's full of rust. Ask how it's been kept and cross-reference with the condition of the faring.

>>28985172>I'm sure there are people riding CFMotos with 100K miles on them with zero issuesYeah all those 20 year old boomer owned CF Motos. Legitimately the biggest problem with them is we just don't know, when it comes to reliability they have no history and therefore no reputation. Now from a straight ownership standpoint there's other issues like parts distribution, dealer policies, and whether these brands will still be around or at least selling motorcycles in your cunt 5 years from now because it's still a young and unstable industry in ching chong china land.
>>28985233>well its the used dealer selling itI would not trust the half MSRP price in that case, every dealer does this, they use the price as hook to drag you in and then suddenly ACKTUALLY THERE ARE CRATING AND SHIPPING FEES, NOT TO MENTION THE REFURBISHING AND INSPECTION FEES, AND THE DOX, DON'T FORGET THE DOX- And your half MSRP bike is now 80% MSRP, which isn't a bad deal for a bike that has low milage and likely nothing wrong with it, but not the deal you expect it to be. t. I've gone through this before.>but I still dont get why didnt they at least take it to the dealer for the first oil change at leastDealers in general don't do this service for free anymore. I tried to get free service on my new bike and they would rather simply hand-wring over charges than attempt to honor their word. The boomer may have just got one of those service reps and decided it wasn't worth his time.
>>28985186it hasn't had its first service done. thats the fucking catch.>>28985233>but I still dont get why didnt they at least take it to the dealer for the first oil change at leastbecause they knew they were about to get rid of the bike so why spend on the money on maintenance

>>28985226>cuddle with my son before my rides>when I get home I give him brushies and a treat
>>28985233So one thing the anons who are (rightfully) distrustful of dealers aren't mentioning: The dealer is likely financing this bike himself. It's a normal dealer thing. They finance the bike, try to price it to sell, it goes to someone else if it can't sell. So bikes that sit on the show floor for long periods of time are also draining their pockets to keep around, too. At some point, a bike that hasn't moved in ~1 year becomes a liability, even if they COULD sell it at the price they originally bought it for, it's already past the point where they could have made profit on it. Looking at the TFD, If it really has been there since 2024 then the dealer is in a dire state to get it moved. They will start to both cope and seethe just to get it rolling out the door since it's basically been nothing but a liability. Why hasn't it moved? Anyone's guess. Will they try to gouge you on fees? Every dealer does. Is the financing good? You have to get that in writing first and find out who you're financing from. But overall, they are desperate to move it and you sound like you're interested in the bike. There's no harm in going and looking. You may have simply come across an overlooked gem.
Ok another dumb question. My helmet got a bit hazy and got lots of hair scratches on its surface especially around the intercom. Otherwise it's a totally fine 3yo carbon helmet. >>28985186because Tiger 900 is superior
>>28985254Oh and always remember: You can always tell a dealer 'no' when they put a fee on. you see some bullshit 'crating fee' on a bike that they bought used? Tell them 'I'm not buying the bike with that fee on it' and they'll remove it.
>>28985257That's just on the plastic skin, buy a plastic polish. Buff it out.
>>28985258This too. Overall a Tiger 900 is the bike people who want a Tiger actually want to have. A 3 cyl touring bike wearing the skin of an adventure bike that is light enough to where it can do the job of both in a pinch.

Pic rel is some popular wumao propaganda showing the same conductor in front of his first train the the 90s, and his most recent train now. It's also a weird argument to make, since Japan has a similar effect in place with the shaken inspections that cause most Japanese to sell after 3 years, and almost all after 10 years. They literally export millions of used cars every year because the Japanese law forces even moderately old cars off the road. Is anyone arguing that the Japanese are building bikes that fail early because the domestic market doesn't keep anything after 3 years? No.

I see a lot of chink shills like to compare chink products to Japanese ones "back then". The problem with this comparison is the Japanese invented half of the technology, improved on the other half and are delivering reliable cheaper machines all this time. And if it's unreliable for some reason it's because it was beginner models assembled by chinks or pajeets.Chinese products on the other hand are clones of European and American products stolen from the manufacturing facility (KTM 450 -> Cfmoto 450MT), which they can't even copy properly (service intervals), which they sell for the price of a one-year old japanese machine. While also lying about specs (weight, power, subscription). This is just pathetic.

>>28985594>China will always puff their chest out and play pretend but when the rubber hits the road they will always flounder and get mogged by literally every other country in existence of manufacturing. Is that why every car company from Tokyo to Detroit to Wolfsburg is shitting themselves over the prospect of Chinese imports? The West and Japan taught literally everything they know about manufacturing to the Chinese. Just like how the West taught everything to the Japanese to start their industry. Just like how the British taught everything about manufacturing to the Americans. This isn't a new process.
