Toolbox thread
harbor freight ftw
>>29004947throw your stems out bro
I have more tools and toolboxes than I know what to do with.>>29004952Back when it was really illegal we'd use those for making green dragon (everclear + weed + heat) or mediocre cannabutter. I mean, it's still a felony here, but I've got 800mg of D9 and THC-P edibles in my mouth right now. Haven't smoked since before covid, but I do miss it.
>>29004945>not a complete mess Pretty based, little ricer however why have multiple 3/8s drive wrenches in 2 spots. 6.5/10
>>29004947>weed >cluttered deskYea makes sense wre chalet faggot.
>>29005742If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, then what does an empty desk signify?
>>29005763>then what does an empty desk signify?it means youre ready to do accurate and quality work dumbass crackhead wrenchlet
>>29005773Dawg, we have 5S where I work. If you don't have tape on your desk with a label that says "stapler" or if the stapler isn't within the bounds of the tape box, you get flack for it.Sorry, but clean shit is performative - "fake it 'til you make it" kinda shit. We're not doing vacuum chemistry here.
>>29005773based
>>29005782>we have 5S where I workonly thing you have is 5 dicks in your mouth you junkie fuckign ricer, wrenchlet lol.>labeling the staplerthats why you make no money
>>29005803What do you do?I absolutely am a junkie, I prefer morphine to sex, but I'm an engineer, and you aren't.I was working for a German car parts company... 19 years ago and they did this shit. Did you make $20/hr at 18? $30/hr at 23? I am the slobbiest motherfucker, I am sitting in a sea of cans and liquor bottles. I'm still smarter than you, I got two engineering degrees from university despite doing weed, alcohol, amphetamine, codeine, and morphine every single day year after year. SMD beeyatch.I'm sorry, your fancy tucked button-up getup doesn't make you smart, it makes you a homo.
>>29005816>I was working for a German car parts company..wouldnt doubt it, german cars are genuine carmax rental trash kek, led loving auto-only ricer.
>>29005821>led loving auto-only ricer.I've never had an automatic. Got my license 21 years ago. Nice try though.Picrel, currently driving an NB1 not pictured.Worked for Bosch.
>>29005826>base model rsxtrash>miata not boostedwrenchlet>420A eclipse with dynamat licenseplate modricer>stock jeepgay as fuck useless bitch car>wrxnot an sti since you debadged it and youre a wrenchlet>wrx hatchbackgay as fuck NPC car. >bosch fuck bosch and every car they make parts for
>>29005835Okay? Enjoy your automatic RAV4 or whatever. Also, the white Subaru was an STi, you can tell because it has the upper spoiler. I like debadging, you don’t have to. I debadged the trim that other people put fake badges on to pretend to be that. What do you drive? Can you run a machine shop?
>>29005844>you can tell because it has the upper spoiler. I like debadgingyou are a ricer, that is not a sti i know its not because of the other cars you posted. you are a poor NPC and wrenchlet, thats why you cope with reefer dumbass ricer/wrenchelt. good luck though seems like you have a lot of potential
>>29005850I graduated early and got picrel at 17. I have a mechanical engineering degree. I don't even need to work, I've got 25 acres, 6 garages, and an entire lake with bass in it on my property. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>29005860Oh man, picrel.
>>29005860>I have a mechanical engineering degreejust a second ago you had 2 lol auto-only ricer
>>29005860Have you noticed he hasn't posted his own tools or cars yet? Don't engage, he's a jealous projecting wrenchlet and has to drag other people down to feel better about himself.
>>29005864>double wingfake sti ricer
>>29005867>has to drag other people down to feel better about himseits not about dragging you down, you already did it to yourself. im just reminding you what you did because i have to deal with freaks like you daily without speaking my mind.
>>29005865Yeah, I have mechanical eng and software eng degrees. You vote for capitalism and you end up with over educated degenerates like me that don't want to work and don't have to. [Hits straight from tequila bottle]
>>29005869In '06-'07 they came automatically with double spoilers unless you opted for the Limited trim.
>>29005874>I have mechanical eng and software eng degreesso why drive stock and riced out base models all your life if youre a m.eng and software eng? like youre so smart and wealthy, yet you chose to fuck with badges, bullshit glue on wings, dynamat, non-vtec hondas, a clapped out jeep. like what the fuck are you doing lol
>>29005876>they came automatically with double spoilers unless you optedand you paid for it kek, thats why youre a ricer
>>29005877>yet you chose to fuck with badges, bullshit glue on wings, dynamat, non-vtec hondasTo be fair, I never added a wing to anything. I bolted a front lip to my NA8, only visual mod. My parents bought me that Honda new (see that post above about capitalism? Only I benefit) and the Eclipse had dynamat from the previous owner, got it for $2k, can only complain so much. The speedometer and odometer didn't work because Plymouth / Mopar drivetrain but that didn't bother me half my life ago; doesn't bother me now.I do look like debadging though.
>>29005891>I do look like debadging though.of course you do, you live for that shit. wrenchelt ricer
>>29005880I paid for it? I got it for $22k with 5k miles at an auction, was repossessed from the original owner I assume. I sold it for $22k 6-7 years later after running it the entire time with a 19psi tune.
>>29005872I didn't do anything to myself, that was my first post in this thread. Post your toolbox and cars, retard wrenchlet dilettante busrider.
>>29005894Cars look better without badges 99% of the time. That's my personal opinion, you don't have to agree. I can do what I want with my cars, resale value be damned. I do think so, and I will debadge high-trim versions of cars because it makes them look better. You really want to look at an advertisement instead of the actual car?
>>29005897>Post your toolbox and cars, retard wrenchletFor who though? I can't compy with this if you're a ricer, you see it's just not in my best interest to stoop down to your level. You're not a ricer wrenchlet are you? You do have based shit in the garage right?
>>29005903You're so fixated on badges and little exterior shit when there's an entire aftermarket of turbos, dry sumps, engine management systems, and transmissions to help you be cool and have fun. Yet you chose the glue on temu lips and LEDs. That's what your two degrees led you to, being a ricer at the most fundamental level.
>>29005908Dawg, I took that STi to over 175mph multiple times. I datalogged and tuned it myself. I'd come home after work and pore over my run data from driving to and from work. Coincindentally, at the time, I was a full vehicle test engineer and was very familiar with analyzing runs and programming tools to automated it. I was a teenager, this was half my life ago.I've modded all sorts of things. I mod cars, I mod video games, that's what I do. I don't hack people, I hack machines. What have you owned?
>>29005906I do, and I'm not posting it for your poser ass until you post your own cars and toolboxes and actually add something of substance to this thread instead of just shitting all over everyone else.
>>29004945all those tools but you a bitch nigger and your cars are all npc traffic.
>sweet, a thread about tools!>it's just one retard flipping out and derailing the threadBummer. I love discussing tools.
>>29005923>I took that STi to over 175mph multiple times. >>29005943I have so many fucking tools. I used to be a machinist, I used to restore 80 y.o. tractors. I am no doubt "that retard flipping out" but what do you want, I posted my biggest toolbox.I notice you didn't post shit. Check this bad boy out.
>>29005960kubota is one of my hiring partners and they only hire dark felons and the place is a complete dump, would never spend a penny with them kek. you would though.
>>29005964Oh, you'd rather John Deere? Cute.
>>29005960I was referring to the other guy. You're cool
>>29005953>still no tools or cars postedWhy would I take into consideration the opinion of someone with no cars or tools, about mine or anyone else's cars and tools? Also>cucked 4 cylinderShows how much of a retard you are, it's quite clear that's a V engine from that photo and you also don't even recognize one of the most popular V8s of all time. Fuck off until you can post something of your own, busrider.
>>29006020It's cool, Poe's Law and all. I don't take things here personally and I hope others don't either.
Well this is definitely turning out to be a tool thread, but not in the way I think OP originally intended it to be...
saw this on the other /o/ board aka FB
>>29005965absolutely, john deere qc is top tier
>>29006029>Shows how much of a retard you are, it's quite clear that's a V engine from that photo and you also don't even recognize one of the most popular V8s of all time.you got me, just realized its a vette honestly i just glanced at it and thought it was a miata kek. still though you put a mexican clutch on it all that oem remove and replace shit is gay as fuck youre almost based just keep pushing one day you will ascend to something more than a maintenance cuck.
>>29006020the other guy called me out pretty good so im fucking off from this thread you faggot wrenchlets are safe now you can discuss your LEDs and temu wings fucking slushbox loving faggots
>>29006043iq and brainlet should be Duramax (Dollarama House Brand)buy a tool there and it doesnt work? fuck it get 8 more until you get the random one that should have gone to a real brand, they were 3$ each nigga
>>29005816>Did you make $20/hr at 18?I made more than that at my first high school delivery job like 15 years ago, and I even had time to pick up after myself. I really hope you’re not still making some shit like $50/hr as an engineer lol. Idk how it is in your sector, but my Engineer buddies are all salaried employees making hundreds of thousands per year bare minimum.
>>29006079I “called you out pretty good?” Did I? Oh. Uh, don’t listen to my drunkass rambling. I get aggro just to do it sometimes. I’m sorry dude, that’s part of 4chan.
+spanner wrench set under passenger seat+bag of sockets under passenger seat+larger handtools under passenger floor mat+3 more angle grinders, 2 more sawzals and three more circle saws (why?)+tote of seldom used ryobi shit+tote of seldom used hand tools+a bag of tools currently out of storage and in use.
fuck it
It ain't much but it gets the job done and helps prevent me from buying more tools than I actually need. I've got two work surfaces with pegboard behind them on the other side of the room, holding shit like clamps, measuring stuff, more power tools, etc.
>>29006338Looks familiar>>29006353Looks like you had just set that up, breddy gud though. What's in the case? I've got a ~30 y.o. camcorder in a similar case in my garage.
>>29006357Yeah, that pic was from when I first moved in and got the box. It's actually moved over a few feet and there's a 3d printer in that spot now. The case is just a carry-on suitcase that hadn't gotten unpacked and put away properly yet. This pic is newer but still way out of date, I've gotten rid of most of those boxes and this was before I got the 3D printer setup.
>>29006367That's awesome. I just throw shit in random drawers or toolboxes.
>>29006338Friend of mine is mobile diesel tech, works on heavy machinery and his toolbox looks exactly like this just much bigger.
>>29006368I always did the same, trying to do things right with the new house though. We'll see how long it lasts. Both workbenches are currently covered with random crap right now so not great at the moment lol.
>>29006071worked at a deere dealer for a few years and their customer service is dog shit, their sales reps are dogshit and their software IT nerds are fucking stupid ass indian tier fucking retards and their parts supply chain exploded and never recovered after covid.I would rather drop a rock on my dick than be within 400 yards of a john deere ever again.
>>29005803Absolutely pathetic
>>29005923>What have you owned?You.
>>29005835Mexican schizo
>>29006338The "lift from bottom broken" really completes the pictureLike the tap handle at my old job that was still in the case but labelled "BROKEN, GOOD LUCK!"
>>29005782>5Swe have an absolutely bastardised version of this at our work. it's been corrupted to just>the japs are coming, throw all the shit on your desk, including the shit you use every day that's eithin easy reach, into a cupboard or storeroom out of sightthen there's a 10% chance that they actually walk past. and even when they do they don't give a shit, they just nod along with whatever their lead is saying.
>>29006043Wera is for people with small hands who are easily influenced by social media ads.
>>29007497Wera can be very hit or miss. some of their crap is very gimmicky, while other times it can actually be genuinely helpful. It's not for everyone. That being said I wouldn't pay full price for their stuff. I paid like 30% msrp from a pawn shop brand new because I know the owner, and I know a crackhead stole it from a canadian tire.
>>29006043I don't get Mitutoyo being on this, they're just the ubiquitous bog standard Toyota Camry of measuring tools. I've never seen people circlejerk them the way Reddit does with Knipex, Wera, etc. I sorta get Starrett because of the people who horde vintage stuff.
>>29004945Overrated overpriced Wera set and joker wrenches that WILL strip every nut you touch. Not bad stanley set, the DeWalt i would not trust though. Stanley has terrible rachets too, their sockets are decent though.>>29004947clean your area, slob.>>29006337>>29006338Stop stealing tools, you fucking junkie.>>29006367Starett is overpriced boomer bait. Only 60+ year olds salivate over starett when Mitutoyo is just as good when it comes to precision.
>>29007916>>29007916>Starett is overpriced boomer bait. Only 60+ year olds salivate over starett when Mitutoyo is just as good when it comes to precision.meant for you
>>29007916>>29007919Ironically the post you accidentally replied to was ALSO me. I've got a few Starrett things but they're on their way downhill, got bought out a few years ago and they've already sent a bunch of manufacturing overseas and I keep hearing bad stuff about some of their remaining US production too. It's a shame since I'd much rather support a US brand but not at those prices for stuff that's no better than Mitu.
I wish the big mutt style boxes were easy to find on the used market here
>>29008008Ironically I've seen a lot of American techs wishing the European-style carts were more available here.
>>29010142Why? Burger tool carts work fine. And the small boxes suck for so many automotive tools, I keep wanting a 44”+ box for the garage because of all the blow molded cases and pry bars and long ratchets and bullshit that doesn’t fit well in 28” boxes.
>>29010142I've never heard anyone say they wish they had a smaller toolbox/cart.
>>29010211US also has a real nice selection of Packout type kits in recent years too.
>>29010196>>29010211A lot of capacity and organization for the overall cart size, they wouldn't replace a big box but they'd be a good mobile option, especially for stuff like industrial maintenance or aviation where you need to roll the cart all over a large area. I'd personally consider one as a machinist box since they've got a lot of shallow drawers as well, and I could also see them being good hardware or small parts boxes.
>>29010532Why does this room look so unsettling to me.
I am so autistic and a slop master my tools are all over the ground and in random boxes and rusting
>>29010919too clean/organized. it looks staged. even the "clutter" is all well-aligned and stuff that's been "left out" is stood up cleanly, which normal people do not do.>>29010983same
>>29010993He clearly just cleaned up before the pic, or maybe it was when he first moved in, or maybe he's just better than me at actually keeping shit neat. I try to do that too but it always eventually gets out of hand and then stays that way until I can devote a few hours to a shop cleanup. It's supposed to be hot AND rainy today so maybe I'll do that instead of going /out/. What bugs me is that it looks more like a basement than a garage with that bare concrete floor and low ceiling though.
>>29010919because it's looks like a serial killers hidden lair
>>29010993In its current state>>29011072>looks more like a basement than a garage with that bare concrete floor and low ceiling though.Technically it kinda is. It's a 1 car garage under the house, the basement is on the other side of the wall.
>>29011158That makes sense. Mine(>>29006367) is sorta like that too, the ground at the back of the house is about 10-12' higher than the front, which is why the rear half of the garage is cinder block instead of drywall. They went for higher ceilings and a more finished look on mine though, and there's no actual basement. (There's a second garage on the other side of the house though with the foyer in between them.)
>>29011158>1 car garage under the house, the basement is on the other side of the wall.THIS NIGGA QUEBEC!!!!
>>29011214Nice cozy setup. Some more ceiling height would be nice. My Tacoma just fits inside if I have to work on it. Some day I'll have something better but I'm trying to make it work. It used to be an absolute dungeon.>>29011220Not even close
>>29004945Any recommendations for a starter Wera kit?
>>29011737No. Wera is playskool tier shit, especially if you get anything from them besides screwdrivers or bits, and even then Felo and Wiha are actually made in Germany and not Slavistan.
postin wrenchlet kit1/4+3/8 ratchet setdeep, hex & torx impact sockets1/4+1/2 beam torque wrench
>>29011791some other junk
>>29010919no visible exitit's like a hopper painting
>>29011783>Wera is playskool tier shit, especially if you get anything from them besides screwdrivers or bits,I wouldnt say theyre playschool shit. I've used a lot of different brands including crap on, milwakee, propoint, mac tools, dewalt, gearwrench, starrett, mitutoyo, mastercraft etc. I've even used wrenches from Yugoslavia older than my dad. Admittedly, ive only got a few of their products, and Wera has some really gimmicky shit out there, but every single one ive used are quality tools. The joker wrenches i have are some of my favorite ratcheting wrenches i've ever used. I wouldnt ever pay full price for them, but if you can find a crackhead that stole them to buy them from for cheap, theyre great tools.
>>29004947idk what you guys are so mad about. The setup actually looks pretty damn good. Tool cabinet is clean and organized, everything has its place. Chill out, anon, and keep it up.
>>29011811Ok if you find them at a pawn shop for less than the price of Husky, go for it and try the Made In Vietnam Fisher Price tools with an edgy social media compaign.Meanwhile I got a few of their drivers and the grips are terrible, especially if you have man sized hands. I got the Tool-Chek for somebody and the quality of everything is basically Gearwrench tier for a higher price, and the retention for a bunch of the tools was fucked within a year of mild use. The compact smart packaging was the main selling point of those like $100 kits and it’s useless if the tools are constantly falling out.
>>29012033I have the Kobalt knockoff of the Tool Check. Pretty solid for $35, nice for working on my mountain bike where there are like 5 different sizes of allen bolt and a lot of weird clearance issues. The Wera one is probably nicer but not enough to justify the price.
>>29011783>Felo and Wiha are actually made in Germany and not Slavistan. Can anyone else vouch for Felo or Wiha?
>>29013177They don’t have social media influencersMy boss actually has the same Felo insulated driver kit and he knows nothing of the meme tools and loves it.
I reorganised today
>>29006367Finally got around to cleaning up. Still a few boxes and other random crap in there but way less than there used to be.
>>29013839And a better shot of the working area.

>>29015483Thanks. That reminds me I need to actually finish the AdMech thing, it's a clock dial and the other set I made is complete and hanging up in my college's metalworking building but I haven't gotten around to ordering a movement and hands to put this one together properly.
>>29005816This shit goes hard
>>29005816both your image and text are extemely sad. i hope you find the help you need becase you clearly have problems, though you're clearly too smart to realize that.
>>29015286What do you do when you need the tools outside your pole barn?
I just have a shed and it's time consuming running back and forth to the work area every time I need a new tool. So I've been min/maxing on a toolbox that can do like 90% of the jobs. Motorcycle, quick maintenance, etc.
>>29005835What kind of cunt shit talks every one of anons cars? Why are you even here you 89IQ?
