Would you buy a Chinese Land Rover Defender clone with a 150 hp 1.5L 4banger hooked up to some batteries? It does have diff locks but it weighs 5000+ lbs and when the batteries are rinsed, lol.
I wouldn't buy any car made after 2010, so no.
ching chong bing bong
>>29016013There's also a GWM "Tank" which I think is basically the same thing but with a 2L engine instead and actually seems less shitty than the Denza. There could be more, it's hard to keep track.
Sure but this one is a plugin and I dont like that but it seems that its under 40k and with 130 miles range electric I can see the appeal.
>>29016030>but it seems that its under 40kum no it costs between 95-105k USD
>>29016007No, but I'd rather a Chinese G-Class clone with a 3.0L TTV6, locking diffs and body on frame construction for ~$40k. No faggoty EV or plugin hybrid shit either, just pure copycat Chinesium. Used models are well under that price, and if you go for an early ('17) model you can even get it with a manual transmission and a 2.8L Cummins diesel.
>>29016241they only sold like a few hundred of the ones with a v6 and I promise it was not 40k, I think all of these have locking diffs and bof construction >anyways?>No faggoty EV or plugin hybrid shit i'm pretty sure the usual GWM Tank is a hybrid with a 2L turbo. The V6 was a one off mostly for show
does it come with complementary dog meat
>>29016339yes!
>>29016007How does the price compare to the Jimny?
>>29016406way more, but also bigger and more powerful I think the gimmick with most of these Chinese "trucks" is having a smallish 1.5-2L 4banger paired with a decent sized battery so they can claim big hp numbers, but they are also heavy and somewhat expensive as a result. I feel like there's a Mahindra one (older) that preceded the current Defender-clone craze, and that's Indian, but I think that's non-hybrid, albeit more basic. Jimny is tiny and has a tiny engine.
>>29016007No, if I want a Defender, I'd get a Defender. I don't accept substitutions.
>>29016428Defender costs 70-100k now for most variants.
since this is the de facto Defender thread I'll say I was pleasantly surprised by them dropping the turbo four and making the base model an inline six for 2027. Also that you can get a 2 door without having to spring for the Octa. Haven't seen anything to say whether its that overly complicated turbo-supercharged hybrid that they were using before or if its a detuned version of that.
>>29016566I don't think anyone was buying the 4 anyways nor were they manufacturing it in significant numbers either. Its just a detuned 300 hp variant of the same supercharged 6 as before I think that was included in the article about it. There's a lot of room for a unibody off road SUV with 4 wheel independent suspension that undercuts the Defender on price by 10k but nobody has tried. Multiple (legacy) brands are said to be at work on some form of mini-G-class-esque SUV but none have been released so far.
>>29016032Cant find any Bao 5 for those prices all the variants are listed 37k to ~50k
>>29016417its because they want to drive electric daily but do long ass trips back to provinces to see their parents in rural areas every year and need range for those trips
