>Naturally aspirated 6 cylinder>No CVT>$8k cheaper than a TacomaIs Nissan the only company listening anymore?
>>29024892I don't think taco was ever offered with a cvt...
no truck was ever offered with a CVT they are only applicable for engines with low torque like economy cars
>>29024893>>29024907Taco apologists are disgusting.
>post 1999>not single cab bench seat>4wd larpCringe and performative
The issue with the Nissan is resale value. The Tacoma 5 years old will sell for a lot more money.
>>29026429only toyota owners care about resale. it's almost like they don't like the vehicles they buy because they're always talking about selling and recouping cost.
>>29024893the frontier is equipped with the Mercedes 9g-tronic. Mine has been fantastic. I love the smoothness of the shifts and it rarely is hunting for gears compared to a Ford/Chevy 10 speed for example. It's the same unit put behind the Titan as well which makes over 100whp and torque than the Frontier. It's designed for durability and smoothness and rated for 516lbs/ft (700Nm) of torque.
A decade ago wanted one of the previous gen with the VQ40DE (4.0L V6), 6-speed manual, short cab, and RWD. That is a trim opion that existed, sort of the "hot rod" trim, if you're willing to call it that. Looked for about a year or more, never found one for sale. Even harder to find are the rebadged version, Suzuki Equator.
>>29026444only an idiot would say or think this.
>>29024892>water pump that will fail and take out the engine>need to spend $50k+ to get a locking diff>>29026447I have one of those in my work van and it might be one of the worst transmissions I have ever driven. It slams into gears, flares shifts and the TC shutters. The rest of them in the fleet do this shit too. I'd almost trust a CVT more.
ZF8HP or bust. And as such: RAM or nothing
>>29026429Why would you buy a truck and not drive it into the ground?
>>29026585You're going to put a $20k engine/tranny into a $10k truck so you can have a $10k truck? It's not economical to run things into the ground these days.
>>29026444the best part about owning a Toyota is how economical it is to ownit's never actually operating a Toyota
>>29026797Frontier drivetrain is very robust and has remained unchanged for close to two decadesI'm sure you can get one from a junkyard for cheapThe rest of the truck will crumble to dust before the engine, transmission, diffs, etc go out
>>29026805Were talking about the newest gen Frontier. The one with engine and transmission issues. It'll be a long time until those start hitting the junkyards.
>>29024892>nissan just rebadged the triton for the newest navarait's over
>>29024892>Naturally aspirated 6 cylinderJunk.Find a Nissan Armada (Y62) with the 400hp 5.6-litre VK56VD V8 and a 6 speed.

>>29026891Ingredients for an unbeatable pickup.
>>29026891Or you could just buy a GMT800 and have a much better truck.
