The low center of gravity also makes them easier to control.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh2pq_AM9rc
>>29032738scooters ergos are fun and perfectly safe to lean 70* on, just make sure to remove the floorboards and fabricate what you need to to fit 160 section tires before you decide to go knee down at the roundabout. >>29032742>>29032750I hope so. I filed all my claims and am just waiting.
>>29032774sounds like because of the step-through floorboard design of scooters, he's afraid of sliding off the seat when leaning in a turn(translation motion caused by centrifugal motion)
>>29032807Which won't happen because centrifugal force doesn't exist. A rider in a turn feels centripetal force as the seat pushes "up" into them. It's no different that you staying perfectly upright in your airplane seat when the plane is in a banked turn. For him to slip off the seat, he would have to be leaned so far over that the centripetal force can't generate enough friction to keep him in place. But at that point, the bike is too far over to remain on it's tires and you have a low side. Nothing about having legs on both side of a motorcycle will matter when you're already crashing.
Speaking of centrifugal forces, if i swap my rekluse clutch springs on the exp plate and lower the rpm engagement threshold, God forbid it dont work after that bolted down; and assuming i get freeplay right, what then?Any ideas? I hope its a simple switch
>>29032807>centrifugal motion>because centrifugal force doesn't existreddit levels of cherry picking
>>29032738I take sharp turns all the time. Even scraped the kickstand a couple of times. The issue is balance. Butt back/feet forward is the best way to cancel out the engine making the motorcycle rear heavy
>>29032835>>29032859>>29032864Fuck you
>>29032719What the fuckthat's my bike
>>29032864It's not cherry picking, it's getting at what he would be afraid of if he fell. If you look at it from centrifugal perspective, then he'd be worried about pressing into the seat. But that's not what happen in circular motion. The bike is pressing into him, making sure he won't fall off. He doesn't have to do anything but sit there.Centrifugal force is also just a fairy tale. If you start using it to try and understand things, you're just going to twist yourself up trying to use mermaids to understand your bike's movement. The only reason you're turning is because of centripetal force. If centrifugal force was real your bike would fly away from you. Just deal with reality, it's simpler, anon.

The crf has to undergo another instance of swapping the springs from the exp plateThabkfully the new bolts have not broken whatsoever with the new mini torq wtenchletteSo i have levels 2,3, and 4 of combinations of springs, and there are 10 total combinations but i lack the proper springs for those systemsThankfully the feedback between the softer springset on the exp disc was noticably easy to spot after experimenting with the breakinWill try the harder ones and hope thata enough for a low idle adjustment with new freeplay settingIts sometimes alright to fail and practice of note i am enjoying most thrugh this tiral and error experienceWondering is if i do the level 4 now

>>29032600My first bike was a DRZ400S and I have a T7 that I'm selling.Tenere 700 is very overhyped. All kinds of bullshit problems to deal with. Turn signals that just fall out. Weak exhaust and exhaust hangar that will fuck up the swingarm if you ride the bike after dropping it hard on the right hand side. Stripped or broken motor mounts from drops or hard riding or retarded OEM crash bars. Defective fuel gauges. 2024s had defective clutches and at least some had to go back multiple times. 2025s have a dash recall for indicator failure that will wipe your odometer. It goes on and on.On top of that are "normal" deficiencies like being probably less comfortable than your DRZ, tall and top-heavy, and being sprung for like 140lbs of payload.Every bike has problems but some of the stuff on the T7 is really inexcusable. Night and day compared to a DRZ which is very well put together and really only has the can opener foot controls as a design defect. The good things about T7 are that it looks cool and the actual engine is very proven reliable.Seriously look at V-Strom 800 and Transalp, and Tuareg if you're willing to look at Italian. None of the Japanese middleweight bikes are actually good for offroad without a bunch of bolt on bullshit, so you might as well look at the ones that are actually comfortable.

>Stihl MS881 121cc chainsaw engine>Mini bikeCould it be done? Should it?
>>29033166Yes, definitely. My first ever bike was a small piece of shit contraption made from a chainsaw that my old man assembled for me.My feeble 5 year old arms were no match for the mighty 70cc 2 stroke single cylinder engine, had to ask my dad to rip start it for me. I rode it into the local quarry, got it stuck then had to walk a mile back home to ask my dad to come get it out for me. Every single friday.
>>29033134Thank you for the advice.I think each and every wannabe content creator is shilling for the Tenere 700, making noise about it but omitting all the shortcomings.I had only heard about the exhaust design being retarded and that the paint quality as shit, thin paint that peels off.The tuareg looks sexy AF.The V strom, Shame about the new engine. Is it worth looking into the old v strom?Transalp looks good too, it's overshadowed in sales by the yamaha.
>>29033171>>29033134Tuareg is what you get if you want a middleweight mostly off-road adventure bike. Vstrom 650 is what you get if you want a middleweight mostly on-road bike. Tenere is overrated and because of that overpriced, it would be fine if it was 9k new.

>>29033314I mean if you're happy with the price and condition then go for it, it certainly doesn't look like a total heap of shit and it seemed to fire up pretty happily so that's a good sign. Just look for signs of poor ownership like poorly adjusted chain, worn sprockets etc. Carbs can be replaced and/or cleaned, plastics can be replaced. Check the fork seals too.Godspeed anon.
>>29033315I was just mostly worried about how the idle sounds. it seems kind of inconsistent sounding. but if it doesn't set off any alarm bells to you, I don't want to put my foot in my mouth by drawing attention to it in person. apparently there's also a cam chain thing that happens with the klx250 so I'll be listening for ticking around that area.It should have had a valve service at 7500 mi, and I doubt it did.other than that, yeah just maintenance stuff. tire age, fork seals, air filter, etc. desu I think if it idles and runs through each of the gears, it could probably be made to run great for not very much dinero.

I want to purchase a scooter just to ride around. Will I be considered a fag? Should I just purchase an ebike?
>>29033340Kinda, it's just the stubborn desire to master your movements. Popping a wheelie is like learning to ollie on a skateboard. Dangerous and pretty much pointless but fun.
>>29033345>Dangerous and pretty much pointlesshard disagree. just a couple weeks ago I was doing some single track with a newer rider. there were some smaller logs you could easily wheelie over but were too big to just ride straight over. so, like two or three times we had to stop and I'd get his bike over the log
>>29033350I see your point. Learning to wheelie directly makes you a better rider for different situations on the road. How did you and the newer rider figure out how to get past the logs? Want to keep up this healthy debate?

Are street motorcycles even worth it in America? I learned how to ride in a different country where no one gave a shit about lane splitting, speeding, basically anything short of crashing into someone else. Now I live in the panhandle of Florida, and every driver somehow manages to drive slowly but still incredibly dangerously, traffic jams are an everyday occurrence, and cops are around every corner trying to catch you going 10mph over the speed limit. What’s even the fucking point? We’re living in the golden age of motorcycles where bikes making 100+ horsepower are more accessible than ever and all have amazing electronics, but you might as well just get a Grom because the riding environment in America is retarded.
>>29033413Every motovlogger who travels exclusively at 180mph on a literbike whilst threading through heavy traffic is American. Maybe move to Texas which seems to be the epicenter of death wish highway riders.

>>29033505Isn't the driveshaft to the side instead of straight back from the clutch?
Look, ma, I'm scrambling!!>>29032145Very nice. I loved seeing your pics. Started planning for the next one yet?>>29033406I'll take a loaf, pl0x. Leave it in the usual spot, and I'll be by this afternoon to grab it.
>>29033517Nope, it's a straight powertrain (unlike the queer chain drive).
i'm too fat to ride. my jacket doesn't fit!i stopped eating but i won't be thin until winter!fuck niggers!
>>29033527I've been getting up at like 5:30/ 6am to get to a local trail to hike. My wife says she didn't realize how fat I was until I started losing a little bit of weight.I thought it was just normal that an XL t-shirt was too tight on me. Crazy
>>29033525How heavy.
>>29033525Low key, I hate this
>>29033527There is a manufacturer that has a product line specifically for old fatties.
>>29033525chain drive is motorcycle heritage. who are you to call it queer?where the fuck am i?is this the same dbt that i left because 90% of the posters were obviously /g/ trannies?
>>29033537Does /dbt/ know how good the current HD bikes are or are they still running on the reddit programming
>>29033537i'm only a 39 year old boomer. i can be rossi tier thin in 4 months.
>>29033539Are they still all 90 hp 600lb overpriced pieces of shit?Thought do.
>>29033484Everyone loves a good GS500
>>29033525You can clearly see from your picture that it isn't straight, it comes from the side of the box in the rear. That's because unlike in a proper straight drivetrain like in a car, it's physically impossible to make one in a bike, you can't put a driveshaft through the wheel. If you had a rear diff and a wheel on both sides, it'd be a trike.
>>29033542Thought do?
>>29033542that's not the problem. the problem is how you act and ride when you get a harley.
>Thought do.
>>29032145nice cock
>>29033551Can't you just get one and then not act like a road janny?
>>29033576>road jannythat's not a harley rider. they ride like they own the place and can do whatever they want while making a lot of noise in places where it isn't acceptable.all motorcycle riders are hated simply because of the retarded 19 year old squid and the harley rider.
>>29033576Maybe.
>>29033576Sure. Buy whatever you want, don't let reddit preprogram ya
>>29033584who do i need to kill to make 2 stroke bikes a thing again? the jews?
>>29033582>they ride like they own the place and can do whatever they want while making a lot of noise in places where it isn't acceptable. This just a biker in general.
>>29032719>>29032879>>29033484>>29033543Many fine memories of this thing
do I want 1150 GS?or are newer lesser GS better?
>>290336181200cc, get one where they changed the ABS type already (google how to determine it by openings shape on the ABS wheel)
>>29033341There's always going to be someone who disagrees with what you do. Best thing for you to do is to tell that faggot to go fuck themselves. Scooters are pretty good for being urban commuters.
>>29033443How is it riding that? One of the centers i was looking to do my CBT at used those, but they were too far and remote to get to for the times they started in the morning. Apparently they have both AM and A1 versions.
Finally got a cupholder
>>29033525So I HAVE TO take the whole back of the bike off to change a clutch?
>>29033449They're not ready to hear it.>>29033455Do what you want. Just know that time invested can never be returned.>>29033500>If you hate something it means sour grapes and nothing else because I said so!Many such cases. The dumbass didn't even engage with ANY points besides the LAST point because you're a short sighted retard off tiktok or IG that is desperate to be noticed. Maybe when you grow up you'll get it or maybe when your raped bike blows up from oil starvation the message will get through your dense skull.
>>29033074im still alive thanks. >>29033538>where the fuck am i?>is this the same dbt that i left because 90% of the posters were obviously /g/ trannies?yes its extra gay in here now>>29033525not all driveshaft bikes suckmy guzzi is awesome picrelchains are fine too, but there's no denying the old-man-can't-be-bothered aspect of maintenance free driveshaft superiority
>>29033507>He said something contradicting my perspective, which is impossible so therefore I will assume sour grapes and move on exactly the sameWheelies are not an advanced stunt. You have not earned no dogma. Just because I choose not to do them anymore doesn't mean I never did nor could.
>>29033660Indeed.I rode two stroke mostly when learning and having both wheels on the ground at the same time was...Wheelies when cornering is fun.
>>29033652It's a dry clutch like in a car. You would change in once in 200k km (at around 100k-150k), and in practice it's not that bad, you'd need to remove the swing arm and detach couple connections.
>>29033658>not all driveshaft bikes suck>my guzzi is awesome picrelThere's no way you can change clutch on motoguzzi with a drive shaft and that V2 engine without tanking back part out.
>>29033656I can literally go buy twenty brand new motorcycles right now if I want to. You on the other hand clearly cannot because you're fretting about the wear and tear caused by a wheelie, which you cannot do, but you cope about not being able to wheelie by telling yourself that it would be a bad idea to do a wheelie because you're a fucking poorfag
>>29033695yea to be honest i wasnt paying attention to the original argument.i just like me bike, simple as
>>29033695GL
>>29033652Absolute Ural supremacy on full display yet again, transmission is held by 4 bolts and nothing else, driveshaft just pops out because it's on a rubber coupler.15 minute job to take the transmission out for a clutch job.
>>29033711Russian swines stole it from BMW R71 as well.
>>29033656words words wordscant wheelie just say so. KWAB
>>29033715But that's an Ukrainian bike.No matter, it was a license produced variant of the R71 and also superior to the germoid contraption.
>Maybe when you grow up you'll get it or maybe when your raped bike blows up from oil starvation the message will get through your dense skull. He says this like its the end of the world or something. Its your bike, have your fun, thrash it, replace the parts, do it again.
>>29033656Damn I got you mad as fuck. Did not intend to be that effective tbqh I was just memein'. Haha
chatis a Ninja 500 a good starter bike?finally signed up for a training class after telling myself I was going to get my motorcycle endorsement for yearsI had a few friends jump right into a R series bikes and be fine but I'm a little intimidated and want to start off maybe not so aggressively; Ninja 650 is an option too though even though I would ideally want a CBR650R: just not sure where to start really>inb4 Ninjait is what it is man; I'm planning buying new keeping/working on every bike I own to have a nice collection of bikes my future wife/kids can progress through just like I didI'd even be open to starting on a Grom but maybe that's a little TOO small..
>>29033735Bitch ass nigga
>>29033735Sitty up is bestest.Learn to walk before you run.
>>29033735I'd push for the 650 simply because they available used fucking everywhereNinja 500 is only a couple of years old so while I think it's the better option it's also going to be a bit more expensive on the used market
>>29033741oh nvm you're buying newget something naked like a Z500 so you don't have fairings to crack on your first bike
>>29033640>How is it riding that? You twist the throttle and take off. You close the throttle and it slows down quickly enough to not use brakes ever (except for emergency breaking). All mass is down so manoeuvring is easy, you don't notice the weight.Feels comfy at any speed, only because of the range I can't recommend it for highway commute.
