Good advice, thanks. idk what the other guy's problem is, because I ride about 50/50 and mostly double track. AKA not the shit I would need a full dirt bike for.

The 800 seems like a good bike, only real downside to me would be the engine heat, which apparently ejects straight against your right leg, and is some kind of function of how they mounted the skid plate, apparently. Aftermarket ECU mappings with different exhausts apparently fix most of that. I'm going to look at the used one on Thursday, and I'll know then.

Bro, I did this comparison paralyisis in 2025 between all the middleweight dad bikes. If you want to save time and effort: buy whichever comes up used in good condition or on sale first near you between the Transalp, 800DE, T7, or Taureg.

Unless you're already racing enduro or mx, the first front tire you buy will make more difference in your ride than jumping between those models. Middleweight ADV is a like striker fired service weapons. It's a solved problem. It's just farkles at this point.

posted this last thread. we ended up checking the bike out yesterday. idle is fucked. it just dies after like 10-30 seconds of idle without throttle. if you choke it or give it gas, it's fine. i rode it and went through all the gears, it's fine.
the bike had a yoshimura exhaust and an airbox mod. i theorize that it has stock jets and is running ultra lean. also, i didn't mention it to the seller, but the fuel hose for the aftermarket gas tank was routed in a way that kinked the hose, so i think that was also choking the fuel flow.

the front brake on the bike was totally cooked. basically zero pad material. zero resistance when pulling the lever. it just bottoms out and no braking force is applied. the tires were old, like 2011 date code. and fork seals were weeping slightly.

the bike market where we are is pretty rough. i talked the seller down to 1600$ and that's what my buddy paid. maybe we could have gotten it a little cheaper, but not a ton. i think he's got some work ahead of him, but i reckon for 500-700$ or so it could be pretty solid.
2006 klx 250S, 10k miles. 1600$.

i moved to a new city a few years ago, and maybe 50% of my friends are people i met at Church. Besides Church directly, it's the husbands of my wife's new friends, she met through a stay at home moms group, but half of them ended up going to our Church too anyway. Very sparse otherwise - but also Church related. We have friends from kids tee-ball who also go to Church with us, and a twitter mutual of mine just moved to my city too. Guess what he's up to on Sunday? It seems like if people don't get out to go to Church, they don't get out at all. My friends from highschool and college who aren't religious are all homebodies. I visit home and their jazzed to see me, but they don't want to go to restaurants, or movies, or bars, they just want to do things at their places.

I want you honest down to earth opinions about CFMOTO without just saying >chinese bike
>>
>>29034619
They were the people that KTM was outsourcing their parts to because Austria somehow fucked up making their own motorcycles. The best parts of KTM from the last few years came from CFMoto.

It also depends on what you buy. Some parts of CFMoto are every bit the wal-mart bike because for as good as they are at industrial engineering, I would not trust their in-house engineers to design a motorcycle. But that's where their relationship with KTM is the best, some of their bikes like the Ibex 450 are great because these are discarded KTM designs. And KTM can design a bike even if they can't run a supply chain. You can't judge the entire brand the same way you can't judge all of KTM on butter crankshafts because it's only specific models they have problems with.

tl;dr It depends, really. Price-wise, most people will say just invest more for a Japanese bike, but quality-wise you're getting the best of the Chink Bikes depending on what you get, and that's because their best bikes are rebadged Austrian engineered bikes

To get to that same shipping hub from Los Angeles by truck alone is 26 hours.

>>29034619
Most people in the states buy a bike and then either
a) hardly ever ride it
b) sell it for a new bike within a year or two
If you're gonna do either of these things, China bike is fine. If you wanted to keep a bike long term, or buy an old used bike, then I'd be suspicious.
>>
>>29034619
i dont get the intent behind buying a new cheap bike.

Setting aside the fact that all the best bikes have already been built id much rather have a top of the line bike from 2016 than some entry or mid level chinese bike from 2026.

The same two reasons people keep buying new mitsbushis. First, you're reasonably confident no one is hiding a major issue from you. Second, you get a warranty. If I'm broke and I REALLY can't afford to miss a day of work bc my car is at the dealer, it could be a good value that if I have a problem with my mitsubishi, the dealer will give me a loaner while they work on it under warranty. I would think it's similar if you're a delivery driver on a chink bike, but even if they don't do loaners some people find the peace of mind of a warranty worth the extra money.

This always triggers people, but CFMOTO saved KTM. KTM was in the middle of its parts plague that would have seen so many recalls that the entire company would shut down, and CFMOTO used a partnership to make up the difference. In exchange, CFMOTO got licensing agreements for multiple bike lines that KTM simply decided was not worth pursuing in the middle of its financial crisis. idk if you're aware, but KTM already had to file bankruptcy protection once.

This triggers people because they cannot imagine their austrian bike being made of Chinese parts despite the fact everyone does it. And CFMOTO isn't the worst offender when it comes to fly-by-night Chinese operations. Even Lifan provides support nowadays. The era of buying hawk 250s made somewhere by someone and having them fall apart in a year is pretty much over.

>>29034643

>>
>>29034651
https://www.motorcyclevalley.com/news/cfmotos-technological-agreement-with-ktm-and-yamaha/
This is where most of their "good" lines come from btw, it's a 50-50 partnership between KTM and CFMOTO to let CFMOTO license and build their bike designs. It's where the 800MT came from
>>
>>29034642
a bike is NOT a car, most people use them on the weekends for fun barely putting any mileage on them. You can get 10, 15 year old bikes which are barely broken in and any potential issues are very easy to spot and fix.
>>

I know it's not a car, that's why I said "if you're a delivery driver on a chink bike" not "for all motorcyclists," and then if it's not the case "some people find the peace of mind of a warranty worth the extra money."
People selling bikes hide problems all the time, so you don't address the first reason either.
The third reason, which is so obvious I didn't state it, is that buying the latest and greatest new thing feels good, it's enjoyable, it confers significant pride of ownership. If you recognize that motorcycling is a pleasure activity, then it shouldn't be confusing that this is a motivator.

Honda's 125 engine is literally the best small engine in the world right now. If you don't expect to get much over 60MPH with occasional bouts at 70MPH, then you can basically thrash it all day long.

I would say "Get a grom" but that is a slow bike and it knows it. Hitting 60 is an experience on one of those.

>>
>>29034662
There's nothing wrong with it, there's nothing that I can say will go wrong with it from knowledge, and I can't speak from experience. But it's not as tried or tested. The Honda 125cc is in multiple product lines, all over the world, and is a very well understood engine. The 450SR isn't, and while I have never heard of any problems with it, that's because it's not as common of an engine. The very popular Ibex 450 uses that engine, and most people are happy with it. Look some of the IBEX 450 reviews up:
https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/2025-cfmoto-ibex-450-long-term-review-living-with-a-chinese-motorcycle

That said if you go 450SR, be sure to get the 450SR S for the better suspension, trust me, better suspension IS WORTH IT. The Honda will come with extremely good suspension out of the box because the fit and finish on them are always top of the line.

>>29034662
Not a Chinese motorcycle engine, no. Those things are made to be thrown away and replaced. They're put on budget adventure bikes and sports bikes that most people expect to get 30K km out of them before they go to the trash heap. A Honda motorcycle will basically last for as long as you want it, and it will look pretty much as good as the day you bought it provided you don't actually drop it.

well yeah they carried out the execution from a legal point of view but the jews pardoned barabbas, a murderer, instead of jesus during passover. the jewish people's consensus is that wanted jesus to die for his views as painfully as possible and are 100% responsible for his death at the hands of the romans (who were simply doing their jobs as governors to violent backwards sand people).

You ever actually read the bible part where it forgives sin, even that of hypocritrs, even so they arent supposed to live a shit example but obviously the Power of God is to Save even the most wretched of sinners
Understand that and you understand Grace, notwithstanding, there will be Judgement for ecerything under the sun including false oaths, lies, hypocrisy, slander, libel, conspiracy etc.

People ofttimes criticize God because theyre insecure with themselves and not being the main character for once in their petty lives, someone tells them there is a God and they refuse to investigate the claim or even evidence of biblical miracles

Either way, every lie will be Revealed: im not of the belief that the Grace of God is limited by giving people a second, third. Fourth etc chance, but when you get blotted out of the book of Life of the Lamb of God; you did so upon your own volition
God gives thise over to a reprobate mind, He also Sends strong delusion and tests of faith
Likewise even those that he chose couldnt stop complaining about retarded shit like cucumbers and tomatos and quails in the 40 year desert: not much has changes aside from what you lot wear and what language you choose to complain and be indignant against God with

Anong various other things and apologetics

why would the romans kill jesus? he literally had no beef with them whatsoever. it was not their religion he had fundamental issues with. he broke none of their laws. he broke jewish laws and the jews had to beg the romans to enforce them because they had no law enforcement of their own being vassals of the romans in the first place. the romans killed jesus to prevent a much larger jewish revolt. yes, they were in fact just doing their jobs.

The Roman's had beef with anyone who opposed the romans rule. Jews were real gangsters and didn't play, they gave the romans the finger until they couldn't resist the empire and its pushed pantheon any longer

If you didnt buy into the Roman pantheon you would be killed.
Jesus wasn't apart of the Roman pantheon yet claimed to be son of god therefore he got killed. By the Romans.

The Roman governor Pontius Pilate is who killed Jesus.

The Roman law Jesus broke was heresy against the Roman pantheon.

They also believed on Him, there was over 200 years of religious controversy and especially on who had authority, the pharisees and sadducees are only 2 of 3 main groups; paul refers to "The Way" which is what the qumran community of exiled priests maintained as proper biblical doctrine- they were also the first christians to embrace Jesus Christ en masse
There were a community of exiled priests who were the proper authority after king david and solomon confirmed the high priest zaddok and vice versa during their succession; thus fulfilling phineas' prophecy of an eternal priesthood
John the baptist was basically the high priest after the order of zaddok

The US is getting there. Those ALPR cameras are popping up everywhere. Shit is going to get grim.

>Ill just tuck my plate.
These ALPR towers now have passive signal detectors. They look for phones, AirPods, smartwatches, and tag identifiers like MAC addresses to your vehicles. Anything with a Wifi or Bluetooth signal will compromise you. They're also getting microphones and tagging your exhaust sound to the vehicle.

>Ill just turn off everything.
The AI is getting to the point where they can associate what you are wearing and what your bike looks like to your profile the system is building of you.

>Well they don't track speed
Wrong. If there are two cameras on a stretch of road they can calculating your speed based on how long it takes you to pass both cameras.

The problem with trying to lock up a bike is that nothing stops 4 guys from picking it up, throwing it in the back of a truck, and driving off. Ultimately, if they want it, they're gonna get it. It's just a question of not being the best target available.

Paid $4k, been through 2 rear tires, replaced the stator (it got water-fucked somehow before me), replaced voltage regulator before figuring out it was the stator, needs new fork seals, but it's been a great bike. Asked for advice on fixing my bike a few threads ago, tried what the anon suggested and still no dice. I'm still pretty new to bike repair so any advice is appreciated:

90's Kawasaki Zephyr 750, it's always had trouble starting if I don't ride it more than a few times per week needing 4-10 turnovers before the engine starts. recently I hadn't ridden it in like a month and it was just not starting so I tried to give it a jump from my buddy's car. I hooked up the cables backwards on accident, only noticed when the jumper's started to melt. Here's what I've gathered:

>Bike turns over for a second on the first try but the engine isn't starting. it tries and fails to turn over 3-5 more times before the battery is dead, all lights on the bike go out.
>Got a new battery, doesn't fix it. I keep the new battery on a tender until it's fully charged before trying to get it running again.
>no fuses blown, checked with a multimeter.
>Battery reads 13V on the multimeter, and ~12.9v during turn over.
>ECE is also totally fine

Since it's failing to turn over only after an attempted turn over I assume it's not the stator or a continual parasitic drain.

I was going to check the rest of the ignition systems (starter motor, starter relay, starter circuit relay, ignitor, and starter switch) for grounds next, but wanted to know if anyone had any advice.
