Rolled over 600 miles on my bike, so the first service period. Called my dealership since I got the warranty package, along with pick-up. They can't get out to pick it up until next Tuesday and recommend I don't put any more miles on it until then. I am the fucking RAPED.

There's this guy on the mountain who's a 70+ yr old ex racer and it's so mind bending watching someone who's just league's faster than anyone else
It's like watching someone move at 2x speed in real life, he moves the bike in a way that's extremely purposeful despite moving at 55+mph in a decreasing radius hairpin
It's crazy just how much difference there is between a track day enthusiast and a genuine racer

Something I've noticed a lot of street squids cant wrap their head around is that most of these guys cut their teeth on low power track bikes. I bet if you handed that guy a Ninja 500, R7, or RS660 he would still lap most people on that mountain.

Babied it, obeyed all the manual's 'rules' to make sure it was broken in correctly. Rev bombed it a few times for some kids, but otherwise doubt I broke 100 mph more than once if... anything close to that. I'm too old to beat the shit out of vehicles.

I gotta be honest. I don't understand the point of a liter bike for the road. I went from my 300cc to 650cc and it's more than fast enough.

>Something I've noticed a lot of street squids cant wrap their head around is that most of these guys cut their teeth on low power track bikes
Not really in my experience, there's one other racer (active) on the mountain and his lowest powered bike is a grom. The lowest powered bike this guy has is a Husqy 701, but he cross trained a lot with dirtbikes/sumo if that's what you mean.
I've actually really only seen 2 people out here who push less than 100hp sportbikes, both were track enthusiasts but nowhere near as fast as the racers
Kart Track racing is great though, training on smaller bikes is definitely helpful.
>>29036448
I've asked the fast people on South Grade why they use literbikes on such a tight road and they all say it's the always on tap power, the ability to always enter a corner at the desired speed. None of them say that smaller bikes are bad or the wrong tool, but they all choose liters for the easy power on demand

If you just sit there with the clutch in there's still a coupling action happening between the clutch plates, , apply very light vertical pressure to shift lever, blip the throttle when trying to find neutral to unload the trans, pops right out of gear. Good luck little anime wrenchlet

what to do against analysis paralysis when buying your first bike? I'll (hopefully) have my licence on Aug 17th and it's driving me insane.
I'll ultimately go with my gut and heart, but here are the bikes I'm fretting over
>Royal Enfield Bear & Interceptor
>Moto Guzzi V7 & V85 TT

I'm fine with a used bike as my first one

what to do what to do

>>29036543

>>
>>29036550
I'd cry if I dropped any of them, not because of the money, but because I'm careful with my shit. the cheapest would be a used 5 year old Interceptor, the others all cost around the same and 1-2.5k more than the INT
I sat on the Bear, the V7, the Z650 and the Triumphs. I flatfoot all of them, the Bear and Scrambler I find the most comfortable I think. But I'm learning on a Honda CB750 Hornet, which is a little lower and it's fine too.
I'll gladly learn how to wrench, at least the regular maintenance stuff

>>
>>29036561
Yeah, Ural stopped making Solos sometime ago because they didn't really sell all that well even by Ural standards.
You can take the tub off by the way, it's not a very hard job to do, but if your Ural has a leading link/swingarm front then you might not want to even try. Only the telescopic front ones are ridable without a tub, the swingarm front ends become way too twitchy.
>>
>>29036562
I'm from Austria, so we don't get our licence by recommendation, but have to go through driving school with 14 hours on the street, thorough theory test and ultimately practical test on the road, in traffic, with a gov official driving in a car behind me, giving me directions.
the driving school's bikes for the full A licence are Hornets and that's what I'm driving for these 14 hours.
At first I thought it's a bit overpowered, but if you're not retarded and are careful with the throttle it's fine. my teacher had no chill either - at first I was a bit hesitant with my speed - ~80km/h (50mph) but 5 mins in, she gave me a hand signal to go faster and catch up with her and I was fine going the rural speed limits of 100km/h (60mph). through them into the cold water, I guess
>>
>>29036565
they're pretty hard to find. there's only a single dealer in the entire country and a whopping 3 used ones. one from the 60s, one from the 70s and one from 2015
>>
>>29036568
Good explanation.
I would say the bear would be better choice, but you will have to get a fuel controller on it to increase the service intervals. Thank you eurogay5+ for ruining everyones fun.
>>
>>29036581
>one from the 60s, one from the 70s
Same bike, unless the 60s one is a 6 volt there shouldn't be any mechanical difference between them.
The biggest ones might be the carb mounting studs in the heads.
Frame might be different too if it's an M63 or M67 frame, probably the latter for the 70s bike.
>>
Finally reassembled my bike. It's been on the lift for at least 2 months.
>>
How much HP is enough for beginner bike?
How much is too spicy?
>>
>>29036606
I think 30-40HP is perfect for a beginner. If that's too much for you I don't think bike riding is for you at all. I don't think anyone needs more than like 80-100HP for the streets.
>>
>>29036606

>60-70
