I haven’t changed my ATF in 8 years and I’ve only put 12000 miles on the car in that time. I work remotely. The car has 39k miles on it now. aTF was changed at 27k miles. Is it strictly mileage based or should I change it after a certain age?Like I change oil once a year regardless of mileage. Is ATF the same?Owners manual only refers to mileage. The fluid is still pink and the shifting is starting jerk a bit in low rpms. Over 3k rpms the shifting is fine. It’s a v6 Honda accord. NA J35 engine. 6spd tranny.
>>29036113if it's shifting weird and that's a new thing then change the fluid ya fuckin goober. No it's not the same as oil, oil touches flame and fresh air with humidity with every cycle of an engine, atf only touches fresh air with every thermal cycle of the transmission.
Drain & Fill. Use Honda DW-1 ATF and not a generic, it's a very over engineered ATF to make up for weak automatics
