How to ride in full gear and not die of heatstroke in the summer, bros? It is consistently above 30°C during the summer here, except for some areas high up in the mountains, and I always end up removing my jacket during longer rides (for short rides I just wear t-shirt and shorts). Is suzuki allergic to touring? It seems like they just treated the vstrom like it was the do everything bike and just never made an effort to compete in any of the dedicated touring markets. I saw an ad on marketplace for an 80s calvacade, and it made me wonder what has stopped suzuki from making a shaft drive sport tourer like the concours or fjr. They finally have come out with a tracer competitor, so maybe we'll see something in the future, but I just find it funny how they've made bikes like the katana and the b king which obviously sacrifice performance from the bikes they're based on, but it feels like suzuki's greatest effort has still been the pretty sporty chain drive gsxs1000gt

I'm coming from a jap 600 supersport with 40k on the clock and looking for a sports tourer with TORQUE BRUDDER because I'm riding 12,000 miles a year in rain and winter. Can't decide between a duc supersport 950 or a BMW r1200rs. Both are for sale near me around the same price. First day of owning a bike complete. Did all basic maintenance myself in half a day (gear oil, spark plug, shocks, air filter, etc) except for brakes & tires which I got done down the street. Bikes are so easy to work on, holy shit. Air filter was fucked and falling apart, spark plug was black, gear oil was black, and maybe I should’ve drained the premix tank instead of topping it off, but oh well. Wheel bearings are bad, front brake cable needs to be replaced at some point. Brake shoes were down to the metal. Definitely was lied to by the seller. Also got cut off by a mini-van in my first 20 minutes and had to slam on my brakes; driver didn’t see me at all (or just didn’t care).

I adjusted throttle cable down at the bodies so there is 0 slack in throttle. Was that a bad idea? Slop tells me throttle bodies might be constantly open a bit, messing up fueling. Especially when I turn my wider aftermarket handlebar and cable gets tight.
