Buy a helmet for your head shape. Check if you are long oval or intermediate oval or round oval and try helmets that way. Also look for one with ECE 22.06.

If it doesn't have adjustable clutch and brake levers, get those. Also, steel braided lines and sintered pads would be a good addition if it doesn't come with it. Just ride the bike as is for 3 months and modify for comfort.

Also, you are not allowed to look for farkles before you have all the gear, that includes an airbag vest.

Throttle feels flat for the first, like, 1/6th of input. Tried swapping around the pilot jets but doesn't seem to change much.
Bike pulls hard when you get on it, but maybe I'll try putting a bit of a shim on the needle to see if it helps with the flat feel with consistent/small amounts of throttle

I owned both and I'm a burger. Vino get 125cc, but they are old and the one I had was 50cc, it would die a lot on lights and I wasn't fast enough for a drunk Mexican and he ran me over. I haven't ridden much as I'm neet can't find a dead end job, well because immigrants stole all of them and my last job I suffered from carbon carbon monoxide poisoning so nobody will touch me, so I can't afford insurance (no way i'm I risking getting hit by a immigrant and losing my cub because I got it for 1500 bucks) or a new helmet as mine from the last crash is smashed but it still works.

The cub is fun to drive, feels like a nimble bike more nimble than the vino. The only down side is the weird shifting(honestly wished it was fully auto or standard clutch) and it gets some time getting used too. Also I have only ridden it about 50 hours, not much unlike the Vino. But its also too slow for roads in America, so I'm thinking the next bike I will get is a Vespa 300. I know its a blog post but I owned both and driven both.

What's the best way to deal with polypropylene plastics? I Tried buffing a black polypropylene body piece and there's a white haze afterwards not matter what speed, pad, or compound I used. Google search showed people having similar issues with this type of plastic.

More likely youll be spending 2000 to learn to fix every part of a bike rather than spending 2000 to ride. Depending on which ninja and how exactly you meant 20 years old, we're talking getting to know how to rebuild and synchronize carbs too.
This could be a really fun learning experience and mechanical project. But it probably will not be a really fun motorcycle.

I have a Himalayan Scram 411. It is ok offroad as long as your expectations are to site down and chug along. It is a heavy pig, but never had any issues with frame or suspension. It is easy enough to do all the maintence yourself and there is a huge autistic boomer community who pumps out guides and youtube videos. 6.5k total miles so far 80% onroad, 20% fire roads, beaches, big trails etc, and never had a breakdown.

Starter relay is known to be faulty on ALL model years, so you probably will need to replace it with a Bosch one. Ask any questions you have

I have started having more rear brake engagement and habitual useage than before when i stattrd the practice wheelie arc
But i gigafugged my fork seals on the mud express, so im probably going to have to rebuild both those, probably going to pickup neoprene sleeves for them too, those things look cool

What is your head shape? Intermediate oval? Long oval. Look for your head shape. Brands to get:
Cheap: LS2, KYT
Budget: HJC
Expensive: Arai, Shoei, Alpinestars

Also, helmet is like batteries, do not buy old stock, if its more than 6 months old, run. Or negotiate heavily.

Fit is more important than anything, if there are any hot spots, just get a different one. Get a balaclave and wear the helmet and sit in the shop for 30 minutes. It should be really snug. Good luck anon. If you have chosen a helmet, post here, we'll give opinions.

Its got an external voltage regulator, battery fired ignition coils and lights, that's all the electronics you'd realistically need in a bike.
I'd personally use a magneto instead of battery ignition, but understandable why the Soviets and Germans went this way instead.

Upgrades for Urals usually consist of finding a 750 OHV engine if you want to stay Ural or a BMW airhead engine if you just want a reliable boxer bike that looks good, BMW clearly is unable to deliver that.
I've seen one example of a BMW GS engine stuffed into an Ural, but that involves a lot of chopping, welding and fabricating.
There's some small quality of life improvements brought by the advancement of technology like CDI and contactless ignition systems.
Urals don't really have any kind of off the shelf aftermarket like Harleys do, it's all do it yourself stuff.
