I got a Suzuki JR80 that I wanna make street legal, currently in Ohio so the official process would be: get offroad title -> add lights, etc. -> take to BMV inspection -> pass inspection and convert to street title. If I wanted to get an offroad title, I'd either have to contact the previous owner (might be doable) or get a court-ordered title (probably not worth the hassle). Not sure if you guys know of any easier options, I've heard people talk about South Dakota and Montana for titleless bikes but haven't found any good info online. Also on that topic, can we talk about how fucking stupid it is the 800 RE doesn't have all the rider profiles of the DE and vice versa? Because it's really fucking stupid that we live in an era where everything is in software and... we're specifically kept from putting the software profiles in other models of the bike that share all of its characteristics. Why can't the RE take the DE's dirt profiles, and why can't the DE take the RE's cruise profiles? The difference is the size of the wheels and the suspension to the ground. Surely, this doesn't mean that I need to have ABS on all of the time on the RE. Why is Suzuki like this? If they were pulling a BMW and selling the profiles as add-on packages, I could understand that, manufacturers are hurting and they want the extra money. But it's not even that. You can't buy what is likely a 500 kilobyte program and put it on a bike that is almost identical nor is Suzuki willing to take the time to make these profiles for the other versions of the same bike.FUCK it makes me so mad.
