I used to own a VFR750 but it was completely stock and kinda boring to ride. If I buy another one, are there any must-have mods other than the exhaust?

Boring is good you idiot, my GS couldn't be more boring, its what you use it for. I'd do mods for comfort. So, a better seat, a top box to carry stuff around. Then, I'd get better brakes, steel braided lines, adjustable levers and sintered pads. Also, radial mc if possible. Also, no exhaust, if it has peaky power or shit tuning because of emissions, I might, but I doubt old viffer had any of those problems.

Chink BSR33 carbs for some reason didn't want to close the throttle properly when it had a cable, the back drag from the cable and the cable elbow was enough to leave the throttle plate cracked open, slightly shaking the carb closed the plate fully, but I didn't like it.
Tested it on my sisters genuine Mikuni BSR33 carbs and same thing.

Wound the throttle plate springs an extra turn, we went from about 2kg/5lbs of spring force to about 10kg/23lbs.
There's a combined total of a bit over 20kg or exactly 50lbs of resistance on the throttle now.
Will see how badly it's going to fuck up my wrist or I'll look like a turbo fapper after a week of riding.

That is not a slingshot carb if memory serves, slingshots had a special slide design.
And I did fabricate a one into two cable system for the carbs because only Soviet carbs seem to work with separate cables and only Soviet bikes still have a dual cable throttle that isn't a pusher-puller design.
>>
>>29071350
oh you're right. I was confusing how Suzuki in the same year changed to the new slide design and also added two cable throttles.

I learned on a 500cc harley. I spent like 10 hours riding around on it in the class with no problems doing all the maneuvers and I was even rev matching and engine braking a lot easily
They had me on a custom sportster as the second one i test drove I think

Also it was getting super fucking hot and I suck at dealing with heat lately i guess, it makes me struggle to think clearly sometimes
If I learned at a different time of year it would have been way better, id have remembered everything they said and developed the muscle memories a lot better. Heat index was well over 100 for most of the time

I replaced the airbox on my GSX1100G with a Pipercross filter. It runs fine otherwise but at WOT it sputters and misfires and doesn't want to go. I have larger main jets already installed, but are they still too small, or do the CV carbs need an airbox to work properly?

Can anyone help me locate where the 12V auxiliary power connector is on my 2026 YZF R1? The manual shows a completely different set up, and all the youtube videos show there should be a grey 2-pin connector in this photo specifically marked AUX, but there is not.

>>
>>29071395
>engine chokes while I hold the throttle
>chokes again when slowing down while I hold the throttle
What exactly do you mean by this?
Does the bike idle in gear, with the clutch in?
Does the bike idle fine, but then chokes itself out when you try to give it say 10% throttle?
When diagnosing carb tuning issues you want to go by how open/closed the throttle is.
When your bike idles what RPM is it at? Is that the RPM the owner's manual says it should be at?
Does the bike have a manual choke? Are you using it?
What bike is it.

Throttle cable slack is too loose.
Measure the slack and get a feel for the tightness, your brain might think you're giving it 10% throttle, but because of the slack it's only 2-5%.
If not that something might be in the throttle body or the ecu bugged with fueling.

I even got mad enough to send him angry marketplace messages not requesting a refund but just questioning his taste and maintenance schedules after. But it's become a beloved abusive and abusing spouse like every other piece of machinery I own, so whatever.
>>
>>29072254
Why you think it's unpopular? Everyone around agree it's hard to maneuver in a city on liter bike, too heavy and throttle response always leads to a fight with clutch
>>
>>29072254
I just opened up my 600 today for the first time after putting it together, and it's both scary and not fast enough. I'm coming from a dual sport to my first sport bike. I'm not even leaning as far as on dirt tires with my previous bike, but the speed puts the stakes so much higher. The handling and braking makes you feel like you can do anything, but I know it's not skill on my end. It's the machine. I can't even get out of second gear on the regular streets. It'll pull to 100 pretty quick, but if you're out of the powerband, it feels pretty sluggish. I don't know how the pros or even street Rossis do it. I always thought people that say, "I had to sell my Gixxer, or I was going to kill myself!" were a bunch of pussies, but I get it now.
I have too little self control for a liter. Full throttle all the time is too alluring. It feels good.

No that's a different guy. This is me. Also that's a 749, I have a 999.
Everyone told me that I would crash and die and they're all massive faggots. It's almost been 4 years now, no crash.
>>
>>29072267
i was tempted to meme on you but this shit is actually why people say it's more fun to drive a slow thing fast. not having power available means you have to drive better overall to not get into bad situations, and when things are clear and nice, you still get to bang the redline at a safe-ish speed

and at normal speeds for that vehicle once you're used to being slow, when you need a bit more to get out of a bad situation, you're already going slow enough to evade AND have more available to not die AND have enough actual real time to do it
>>
>>29072264
>too heavy

Do you know that liter gixxer is lighter than majority of "beginner friendly" 500-600cc nakeds made for city?
>>

>>
>>29072280
Meme away, you're good. I always thought the slow bike/car fast thing was bullshit, but I just hadn't gone fast on a fast bike before. I still haven't really.
>>
>>29072285
i kinda felt the same thing once i installed my gas engine; i got an extra 10kmh/hr, and once the novelty wore off, i was just thankful for the extra power being available but i realized that in normal commuting, I didn't need it. It's just nice to have if I'm either late or need to make an illegal undertake.
>>
>>29072286
Do you keep that thing wrung out or just get it going when you need it?
>>
>>29072289
I tried to look up what that means and failed; i assume it means riding at full open throttle all the time

in any case, I don't ride it on gas routinely because every time I do, something breaks and it's a new thing each time. so going on gas is for weekend wrenching. but for commuting on electric, I'm at full throttle constantly just to keep up with traffic and not die

when the engine does work though, honestly I don't keep it at full throttle for long just because of light cycles and such. there aren't a lot of long stretches of road because of bughive living, and the few times I can get out and stretch its legs it's on a trail where high speeds on thin tires just aren't safe, on top of there being the possibility of retarded pedestrians or lycrafags being in the way on ye olde mup
>>
and also commuting on gas, sure it can comfortably speed in a 60 zone, but i am rarely in a 60 zone
>>
a while ago i was just commuting normally, and saw a length of motorcycle chain on the road, practically melting into rust; i'm pretty sure it was mine from when I had a critical failure on the road. It was a warm and funny feeling. there was a little piece of the will of the species in that piece of chain. i'd have picked it back up to take as a souvenir if it wasn't mid-day with traffic around me

I know that this is a dumb and incompetent thing, but it is something I do in some amount of misplaced confidence, and its poor maintenance is laziness rather than ignorance.

>>29072302
Licensing, mostly. The rest is not having a hoist and any bicycle stand being woefully insufficient. Working on that piece of shit is already enough of a pain in the ass since I have to manhandle it just to change a tire. I noticed a totaled* bearing and the rear wheel being out of true, and my solution is taking it off entirely and replacing it with another I had on standby. I'll throw it on a normal push bike later for truing.

*nothing is totaled; scrap has value
>>
>>29072302
>That's pretty nutso, though.
though what makes me mad is it's not

hybrid e-bikes are not new, ebikes are not new, mopeds are not new, hybrids are not new, battery vehicles are not new. the original ICE vehicle was a motorcycle in the 1800s, and it failed on the market because battery cars were around. none of this is a bad thing, but it's important to remember where our machinery came from and how old it is and how much of a hug it deserves

That's not what matters. I don't mean to try to make you feel bad, though. Thanks and all, but this kind of thing is not new and should not be celebrated as such. I'm just already annoyed about it.

And honestly, I'm annoyed in general because the fucking thing breaks all the time. I'm just annoyed that the thing is such a pain in the ass.

>>

>>

>>
>>29072320
I'm getting the Surron off Alibaba, so I'm only spending 5.5k including the shipping and delivery n shit. I know local dealers upcharge like a motherfucker for e-motos. The dealership near me is selling Eride pro's for like 6500 lmfao
>>
>>29072346
>5.5k
even a modern chink dirtbike from tao motors is like 2.5k so it's still overpriced for power but above the critical point where it's a convenient dui machine

Robot. Ky. Gimmic-ky. Ky's robotic doppelganger, and probably the weirdest character in the game.

Despite having a few similar normals, Robo-Ky plays very differently than his human counterpart. Robo-Ky plays a fairly well-rounded strike/throw game, but in addition, requires managing his unique meter systems. His electric meter system changes the strengths and utility of much of his moveset, ranging from weak and pitiable moves to high damage and very quick stun output. His heat gauge affects some of his other moves by changing their hitstun and damage output, but Robo-Ky needs to take care to ensure that this meter doesn't hit 100%, otherwise he'll self destruct, get knocked down, and lose all of his momentum.

Thus, Robo-Ky is a bit of a balancing act. While his use of meter is great, he often has to spend a lot of time looking for ways to charge it. While his damage is great, his meter-burn combos often put him at high heat and with no electricity, making it difficult to continue putting on the pressure. And while his neutral is really solid, he tends to struggle when put on the defensive.

Robo has the potential to be a tricky and damaging character once you become strong at managing his resources.

is bike culture growing or dying?

seems like bikes grew in popularity due to younger people being priced out of car culture, but it seems like bikes are also getting too expensive

yeah you can buy a clapped out ZX6R for $5000, but a brand new one is basically the same price as a Civic was 10 years ago
>>
>>29072716
the electricity infrastructure where I live and work is pretty robust I think I'll be ok
>>
>>29072737
I think it's evolving. As evidenced by this thread, E motos and E bikes are growing in popularity and ubiquity nowadays. As gas only gets more expensive and financially unreliable (and the general populace becomes only more and more accepting of the idea that gas vehicles cause pollution) I think you'll see more people move towards battery powered vehicles in general. Sure, 5-10 years ago electric bikes were kind of seen as a novelty but batteries have come a long way. It'll be really interesting to see where the 2 wheeled community is at in another 10 years.
