>>29127965That's a lot of miles on a 125. They had to have been running that engine hard to put that many on it in a few years. It should be fine as long as it was maintained though. It's a solid bike.
>>29127967Its in km not miles, so it should be around 7k miles actually, it could be my learner bike for a year then I'll move for something bigger when I finish my bike driving license
>>29127971If a 125 isn't enough for you then you might want to just start with a bigger bike. I know licenses over there are whack though so the 125 might satisfy some condition imposed upon you.
>>29127974It's not that, I'm doing the full license but I want something to move around while I'm doing it, I'm limited to 125 because of my car driving license.

I wish Guzzis weren't slow and gay.

>>29128156>>29128006Notice all these laws also correlate to metro constables having massive financial shortcomings. Don't notice too hard, cunt. That's illegal.
>>29128006This isn't just bikes it's cars too. The law was brought in a while ago for car meets where people drift and race, you would get a warning under S59, second time they take your car.Now they have changed it so don't get a warning. The law was misused by police already, now they have extra chance to use it to take cars off people they don't like.To be honest if your attracting police attention by speeding/riding dangerously somewhere they are likely to be, you're doing it wrong anyway. Out in the countryside you can do what you want.

>Really should try to figure out where the issue between my speedometer and ICM is.>Buy a chinese dualsport in a box instead.Oh boy, now I'll have TWO bikes with issues... probably.
I cried for the first time on a bike today. Something about the view along with a random song I'd never heard before just overwhelmed me with beauty. I've never had this happen before and have no idea how to make it occur again.
>>29128603Based, which one anon? You will find the new chink bike has far less issues new than any old bike with issues has
>>29128626Lifan KPX250. People are always saying to get a used japanese dualsport for cheaper than a new chinese one, but they just aren't there in the market. Everything I see on FB and CL is clapped out or nearly as expensive as new.
>>29128631Yeah the market is fucked right now. I waited a year to get my dual sport. That's a pretty good bike, bro. It's way better than Hawk250 levels. I would say to maybe take some fasteners from the brake calipers off just to put some blue loctite on them. Just in case. Also follow the break-in instructions for the engine, they usually say run the existing oil for some number of hours at some RPM before changing it.
>>29128631Also hidden Lifan protip: Their clamps and preloads are unnecessarily tight to make the seat height shorter for the relatively shorter Chinese population. If you are 'merican sized, say 6'0" and above, you will want to adjust the preload. The rear linked suspension is adjustable with a two position bolt hole, and preload adjustable spring. The stock link is in the lower bolt hole, but you can put it in the upper for a seat height of 35.5 inches. Same with the front forks, you'll notice that the forks are about 1 inch past the upper clamps to lower the front. You'll also notice it's really springy, if you want to upgrade new forks and springs would help it a ton.
>>29128625You don't, sadly.Just enjoy the memory, and the realization that you can still find joy in the world if you go to look for it.
>>29128581lmao yes you will, its retarded. Even if you don't its way too touchy for someone who doesnt know anything yet
>>29128259Seems like a good price and the paint isn't too cringey.
>>29128318I've been using gaiagps to record my rides, gives you a very cool overview of where you've been.
>>29128625Happened to me once last year. It was a wonderful day.
I think there should be more 15-25 hp bikes and riding them with a car licence instead of a bike licence should be legal, just like you can ride 125 cc bikes with a car licence in some countries. That's because a bike with this much power is about as quick as a econobox you usually get as your first car meanwhile more popular 125 cc bikes are slower than a lot of econoboxes and 300-500 cc are hot hatch tier.
>>29128756Just get the proper license and stop complaining
>>29128756>riding them with a car licencePoint to me the throttle brake front and rear and the gear shift on a bike your car licence qualifies you to use then explain why an auto licence doesn't qualify you to drive a manual car.
>>29128767Nobody gets an auto licence in Europe unless they're disabled

>>29128774I'm too autistic to know whether you're joking or you're retarded so I'm gonna explain it to you.By auto license I meant a license that only allows you to drive cars with automatic transmission.
>>2912877990% of new cars are automatics nowadays. You should've specified a motorised clipity clopity road goer instead of "auto"
Valve adjustment on a flathead IMZ is a treat, you open a hatch held by a single bolt and the adjustment nuts are there.

>>29128792Being a zoomer is a terrible disability

>>29129597>10K budget >75% city and 25% highway and gravelYou may not want this advice: If storage maxxing is your concern because it's your only vehicle, you do not want a motorcycle. What you want is a Maxi-scooter like the Suzuki Bergmann or the Honda Silverwing. The silverwing would be my first recommendation but Honda quit making it. If you can find it used on marketplace, then I would jump on one.You want a maxi scooter because these typically run about 5-8 grand and leave plenty of contingency for mistakes. Plus, they're still a Honda or Suzuki, you can't go wrong with one of those. They also have loads of storage space. When you have a single vehicle, you want something you don't have to saddle up to take around town. Sometimes, you just want a brief stint where you go to the store and don't worry about things being taken from it. Scooters have lockable trucks under the seats that typically fit the size of a helmet. Plus, every single storage option that works with motorcycles works with maxi-scooters. too.Plus, these things get snapped up all of the time if you're insistent on selling instead of shipping to your new destination.>Only vehicle so some way to add storage would be goodAs someone who advdadmaxxes, your options are: -Get the biggest plastic crate you can safely put on a rear rack. They're about 1 1/2 - 2 feet long and 1/2 foot wide.-Get one of the ADVdad rackless saddlebag setups. Nelson-rigg makes the best one but since you're going for cost, you should consider the cheaper chinese brands https://www.amazon.com/KEMIMOTO-Waterproof-Motorcycle-Saddlebags-Detachable/dp/B0F9Y8GH36-Get the biggest rucksack you can find, you can carry a surprising amount in a rucksack-If you don't want to screw things down, get one of these things.https://www.amazon.com/Rhinowalk-Motorcycle-Waterproof-Luggage-Pannier/dp/B0BGKXC377consider a tank bag, too. magnetic one you can take off the bike. Put personal belongings in it, guard it with your life.
I have, in fact, been waiting all day to post that. yeah
>>29129597Most bieks can have panniers + a big bag strapped on the bag, dont get like a race bike>both highway and gravel roads, but mostly cityGet a bike with an upright riding position, like any 650-800 standard or adventure bike would do greatAlways never don’t buy usedSame advice for buying new

Idk what's street legal in Japan or Kazakhstan; and after some seat time, you might have an idea about what kind of bike you'll want in those places. I like my Shoei helmet. All of the dual sports I listed can have storage added. I'm not sure what options there are for the mt07 besides for a tank bag and strapping stuff to the back.

I kinda want to to upgrade/sidegrade from my old Ninja 650/ER6F (why they called it the ER6F in Europe is beyond me) to something that feels a bit less bargain basementy, doesn't have a parallel win, and has more sovl. Pic related, each of these early/mid 2000s bikes can be picked up for around £2-2500. Triumph Sprints are a diamond dozen over here and were never very fashionable so can be had for even less, like £1700. The most logical, bang for buck bikes would be the Sprint ST and VFR800, but desu I'm not a spirited rider and I'm not even skilled enough to use the 75hp Kawasaki to its full potential, so they seems like the same, just a lot more of it. I like the idea of mile-munching cruisers but I've never really owned one (my first bike was a SR125 but that doesn't count because everyone loves their first bike). A Ducati Monster might be cool but getting one on the lower price of spectrum might turn into a money pit. Which one should I go for? Any other bikes I should consider? I could double me budget and save for longer if it's a particularly enticing bike.
One of the weird things about the striple is adjusting to brakes that perform so damn well, it actually feels harder to brake because I don't know the limits of stability but I do know these things brake goddamn fast Also apparently the front tire is from 2017 and likely OEM, felt it wash on me a little bit today taking a corner before it was adequately "hot"There's no signs of cracking or anything else but I should probably put a new one on when I get my next paycheck.Riding on Rosso iii's feels weird, it almost feels like the tire's squared off until you reach a certain lean threshold and then it feels more stable than any other tire you've ever used for cornering. Probably will switch back to Michy Roads when it's time to replace though, for miles to dollars I don't think it can be outperformed in the sport sector, I'm hardly pushing on my tires hard enough to warrant sticking to strictly sport so I might as well get my money's worthGot some saddlebags coming in the mail soon, looking forward to taking this thing out to LA county and collecting lots of cool pics from all the photographers out there./blogpost

>>29129597In your position I'd be more inclined to spend 4-6k and buy/sell used for each country, with a different style of bike that feels appropriate for its setting each time. A cruiser for the states (e.g. HD Sportster), a small capacity sportsbike for the streets of Tokyo if you're not tall enough to feel cramped on one (eg 400cc Honda Fireblade or Kwak ZXR400), a Japanese dual sport or something appropriately quirky n' Russian for the unkept roads of Kazakhstan (e.g. Yammy XT600, Suzuki DRZ400, KLR650, Ural either by itself or with the sidecar for extra shits n giggles). If you insist on having just one bike shipped around the globe I'd prob go for a sporty-ish cruiser like an Indian Scout. >>29129597Boy do I have the bike for you>>29129689Triumph triples are very mellow bikes, despite having a fair bit of grunt to them. They don't feel nearly as fast or powerful as they're supposed to be, they don't have that explosive acceleration or ridiculous top speed of a jap bike. It's not a bad thing at all as they're very easy to handle, the handling being more comparable to a 125cc bike than a liter bike as they're also quite slender and lightweight bikes.I had a Sprint 955i RS for a couple of years and it was a very predictable and smooth bike, even if you crank it, you didn't notice much at all, except when you glanced at the speedometer and noticed you were nearing 200kmh on public roads.
>>29129771desu that sours me on the Sprint. I think feeling like you're going fast is just as, if not more important than actually going fast. There's such a thing as too much smoothness and refinement. For example, I learned to ride on an NC750x and an SV650, and the Suzuki felt much more visceral and exciting at the same speeds. I feel bad for insulting the Honda because it's a great bike, but it doesn't quite get the juices flowing.

>>29130063I don’t disagree his throttle seems poor here but you can also hear his footpeg touching down, not scraping but tap tap tapping, sort of like he’s struggling to keep his line. Do you reckon that might have contributed to unloading the rear, allowing it come loose easier?

>>29130124>>29130123what are you ordering that comes from or goes through jamaica ?
>>29129689>>29130169Yeah the duc ticks your boxes. But you'll have to ride one to see if you'll like it. Definitely acquired taste. Heavy clutch, lumpy engine, long gears, huge turning circle. I can see why some people don't like it. Ducati put virtually every single engine they made into a monster so you can choose any HP you like, air cooled or water cooled. Avoid early S4s with the 916cc they suffered from flakey rockers The gen 1s are old now so they're going to need a little love. I've never had anything catastrophic happen though. They're really simple bikes to work on, the tank hinges up like a car hood without any tools. Parts are plentiful and not any more expensive than Japan bikes. Personally I'd take a fuel injected model.
2v Desmo valves are easier to adjust than typical shim-under-bucket style valves. Just pop the inspection cap off, slide the rocker to the side and change the shim right there. No need to remove the cams. It also helps that the engine isn't buried in the bike. Easy access
