Growing up I always thought my brother was weird. Now that I'm significantly older I realize we are more or less the exact same people. Both find government troublesomeFind other people insufferable and egoistic Dream to live on a farm with the entire family and have some Resident Evil 7 type shit going on. He is leaving in a day or so to the most desolate area of my country and will live on the food he catches for 3 weeks as he hikes. I don't go on many hikes. But I long to be free. Gay as it sounds I'd like to just take all my belongings and live in the mountains. Been making a mental plan of everything I'd need to survive for decades and as each day passes I get closer to it being a reality. What do you think /out/, would it be doable to just escape for real? No more thinking, no more talking but actually doing it. Bring a car and a cheap caravan fully loaded with supplies and just setup camp. Only thing holding me back is the weather. I don't think I would survive 7 months of winter where temps go below -40c. Would need something proper.
>>2837893>noooo don't dream of peace and freedom!!!
>>2837848I will be homeless within a year. Can't wait to die when the dark winter comes.
>>2837893>look ma I posted it again!
>>2837893I hate that pic cause in the name of participating in muh society it tells you how you mustn't THINK which attacks the most intimate point of every human. I think religion has similar problem when it tells you some THOUGHTS are sinful.>>2838042Can't you buy a tent, a sleeping bag and a bicycle or a train ticket so you can go down south where there's no harsh winters?
>>2838043>why do people keep telling me to stop shitting my pants every time I shit my pants!stop posting the same generic runnaway from home wank and you'll stop seeing that image.
>>2837893Speculating about possible future life paths for hours a day has never had any negative effect on me. What the fuck else am I gonna do when I'm sitting on a mower for eight hours besides daydream?
Guys I'm op and the other guy is just someone else. But I just got a caravan made for the winter here so that's one step closer. Will spend a year fixing it up a little and adding the stuff I need to survive the winter. Going with an old Corona kerosene heater for heat and cooking. Propane in worst case. Diesel generator for charging batteries.I've already figured out how to refine my own tar oil which works in both diesel generators and kerosene heaters.
>>2838044I'm Swedish, I need to go further north to evade people due to unlawful hunting and fishing without license. I got all the gear I need, can even sustain -40 degrees. The problem is food conservation for winter. I've been trying surviving in the wild for some time and I can't seem to gather more food than my daily calorie intake, so I don't have enough saved for the winter.
>>2838275I don't think it's a good idea. Even cavemen didn't live alone in the wild.
>>2838275I thought allemansrätten means you can fish and forage without a loicense?
>>2838288I know, I'm fucked.>>2838291We can forage for mushrooms and berries if it's not on a plantation and use wood laying on the ground, and only fish freely on the coast. Some species on the beach are protected.
>>2837848what country are you in? if its something european no chance
>>2838362No free fishing in lakes? Thats weird, I was in Sweden every summer as a kid and the locals told us its fine to fish, no papers needed. But thinking back, my grandpa was friends with the landowner of the lakes, so maybe it was fine because the owner said so? We'd also be able to hunt geese and deer and target shoot. Just made a quick call before to let him know who was shooting.
>>2838393Almost all of our lakes require a fishing license (fiskekort) due to being controlled by fishing clubs that the municipality has approved. But then there's the private owners that could give you permission to fish freely. If there's unlicensed fishing without approval of the land owner or fishing club - there's coastguards, guard patrols hired by the club, police called in by the owner; which will lead to a fine and if they suspect you'll commit the crime again they will take all your gear. They do random check-ups on you for license and go through all your gear for regulation and the amount/size of the fish. If you repeatedly get caught you can end up in prison for at least 3-6 months.I would bet it's like you said, your grandpa knew them or the municipality was known for not taking regulations seriously so people just did whatever they wanted. Right now I live right under Sweden's largest lake Vänern (Vänern & Vättern requires no license). However, they still do regular checks on what type of equipment you use, the size and amount of fish. But I also need a permanent camping ground and I can't be caught using the land as I need. I've checked the whole coast but there's no wilderness at all. I have found a couple of valid locations in Norway, but getting there due to the terrain is an issue.
>>2838401Yeah, one lake we used was basically private fully surrounded by that foresters land (and a lot of swamp) and the other had maybe 3 houses around it with very few people ever fishing there. Stupid easy to catch perch and pike because of so little fishing pressure. Sounds like the best bet would be to get permission to stay on someones land. Maybe there's some winter job that could get you a spot or a little stuga and a lake to fish in, like keeping a road snow free or maintaining a place overwinter.Otherwise staying in a norwegian fjord sounds doable. Just need to find a place nearby to park your car and haul your gear down to the coastline. Should be doable to setup under tree cover or in between some rocks and life out of the ocean. If its hard to access, no one will bother you.
