On the moor found a stream, was happy to finally have water. Filtered like three liters in my dinky old Grayl with an old ass filter. Drink 1 L before going decide to find a spot to chill out up stream maybe rinse off the grime and wash my clothes. See pic related in the water and realize I just drank dead bird juice water. Was totally fine, but ditched the water when I got into town.

I filtered from streams with a load of cowshit when I was desperate, a disgusting indian beverage. I was fine. Turns out filters do work. Just don't let the outlet get dirty.
Why you only fill up at springs or places it's coming outta the rocks, I don't even filter at that point
