Anybody here into Druidry?

It seems to be the official /out/ religion. It's all about worshipping rivers, trees and everything else that pertains to nature.

Just recently they celebrated the Autumn equinox, which is the beginning of Autmn when the Earth's axis lay perpendicular to the sun.

A most fascinating religion.

If you aren't a part of it, why haven't you taken the druid pill yet?
>>
Fake and gay. The last druids killed themselves in an attempt to stop the Roman invasion of Britain and they didn't write anything down. Anything you read about druidism is made up fantasy, not real religion.
>>
>>2841921
this, it's mostly lost knowledge and they made a point not to write any of it down

Tolkien and CS Lewis wrote a bit about them
>>
>>2841921
Druidry doesn't claim to be practicing exactly what iron age celtic druids were practicing.

I think you are gravely misinformed about modern druidry! Perhaps you should try reading the book in pic related?
>>
>>2841915
Sounds like neo-pagan hippie faggotry. Meditate on your ancestors and the Sun. They're the only things worthy of veneration.
>>
>>2841927
>modern druidry
Utter hogwash for lazy morons with narcissistic issues. Go buy another Enya CD.
>>2841921
Not quite true. You're right, they didn't write anything down, but their way of passing on knowledge orally has survived - not just in the British isles, but in France, Belgium, Austria (the Celtic homeland) and Switzerland as well. Look for Krampus, Robert Muchembled and Carlo Ginzburg. Look for Celtic feasts in Britanny, France. Any May feasts (fertility, now associated with the virgin Mary) or any feasts involving Saint Nicholas (6 December, used to be Wodan who came around with his black dogs to punish bad kids and reward docile ones). For Ireland there's Saint Patrick (the real one, not today's garbage), nightmares and the original Halloween. On top of that you can find plenty of references in paintings and architecture - look for "the green man", for instance.

Avoid 19th and 20th century nationalistic garbage though. Anything that reeks of ego, arrogance and personal (material) gain. Good luck.
>>
>>2841915
anything you can read in a book about "ancient pagan religions" is complete dogshit
barely anything has survived over the years, and what HAS survived, is relegated to children's stories & superstition

you (un)ironically have a better chance at following old-religion by just winging it, and doing whatever your lizard brain tells you
like collecting stray bones because they're lucky, setting a portion of food aside for spirits, assigning attributes to objects (like saying a stick attracts bugs or a rock keeps you healthy), etc, etc, are things humans have done since we walked upright
if you did it as a kid, druids did it too
>>
>>2841915
>grand archdruid of the ancient order of druids in america
topkek, I can't stop laughing

>following old-religion by just winging it, and doing whatever your lizard brain tells you
i agree with this - you'll know it when you feel it! nature-based religion doesnt require a written doctrine because being in the nature IS IT. there is no need for some holy book to refer to when you can observe the rules of the nature with your own senses. this follows the thread all the way back from druidism to paleolithic animism
>>
>>2841962
animism can just be winged, because it fundamentally is just believing that everything is conscious and can be communicated with.
being a druid absolutely can not. they were highly trained specialists. it took 20 years! to become a druid and the romans annihilated their whole culture and language. whatever they learned is lost.
it's like if we'd be hit with an emp strike taking out all electronic storage and all the books getting burned worldwide and then people 2000 years from now larping as ancient scientists, because they heard something about quantum cats and genes and shit.
>>
>>2841966
Modern druids are pursuing the lost knowledge. Why he so harsh on them?
>>
>>2841967
Because druids are dead and gone. It's a shame, but it really cant be changed. You don't see people try being a priest of Isis or Enki and we have better sources of both.
>>
>>2841941
>>2841967
No modern man who has been exposed to education, the sciences and technology can possibly experience nature the way an ancient druid did.
>>
>>2841915
>>2841979
Also by "worshipping nature" you're probably misinterpreting what druids actually did. They were the religious elite of a very much agricultural society, not shamans of a nomadic tribe of hunters and gatherers.

The official /out/ religion is Christianity.

>UM do you have a source for that religion? No you can't just vibe, you have to have a source. No that doesn't count, it has to be a written source from a confirmed druid. Oh you don't have one? Well you can't do that then, it's illegal. Sorry, better luck next time champ, come back when you have a source.
>>
>>2842001
Yup. So much hypocrisy here. I honestly think we have a lot of Christians here, who are nervous that they might not have killed off everybody's connection to nature.

you do realize christians aren't some boogiemen that destroy all things natural, right? they're one of the very few groups that actually attempt to uphold native environments, meanwhile the other choices are swimming in seas of literal garbage
and before you say "but they don't worship nature!!!", yes, you're right, they worship God, the creator of nature - and just because they don't directly worship it doesn't mean they're against it

nothing about appreciating nature requires you to enact rituals in favour of random spirits; and if you're inclined to argue otherwise, you should start doing a lot more rituals for all of the other spirits you've been neglecting

based
>>
>>2841915
I can pretty much guarantee you that everyone who follows this "religion" is a run of the mill soft-minded self-hating liberal/globalist.
>>
>>2842009
>>2842001
The problem with "vibing" is that it tends to lead to hedonism, hypocrisy, and self-destructive lifestyles. A belief system that lacks a spiritual authority is nothing more than a set of optional recommendations. There is no way to have conviction in one's beliefs if they aren't grounded in a powerful faith. Pagans of old times actually believed. Pagans of today are universally LARPing.
>>
>>2841928
That's exactly what it is but instead of being clothed in new-age vibration alt-science woo, it's "muh roots" LARPing.
>>
>>2841915
>Druidry
For what purpose? Why adopt a religion you know is useless and provides no benefit?
>>
>>2842210
What about Christianity? Is that useless?
>>
>>2841927
>Druidry doesn't claim to be practicing exactly what iron age celtic druids were practicing.
Then you're not practicing druidry, you're practicing theosophy. New age hippie bullshit made up by smashing bits or several religions into one hodgepodge mess. If that's your standard, I've got a cult you can join.
>>
If you know which herbs are good for illnesses, if you know how to to treat sick people and help women give birth ,and if you think there are supernatural elements in the wilderness that are able to help or curse people, then you can call yourself a druid
Druids are just the equivalent of witch doctors. The religious part is just clergyslop fanfiction that used to justify their status in communities
>>
>>2842380
Remember, the Druids of yore were known as learned men of great wisdom. The Roman Cicero speaks about the druid Diviciacus and his knowledge of astronomy and natural philosophy.
