im curious, what are /out/ thoughts on raw dairy
>>
Only drink raw milk if you can see it it being milked and served immediately.

Some people claim it's healthier, others claim it can make you very sick. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Raw milk does contain living enzymes and good bacteria, but you CAN get very sick from it IF it's contaminated, either through unsanitary handling, or if it came from a diseased cow.

I've had the opportunity to try raw milk, but I never have, because I don't think the benefits would outweigh the potential risks. Pasteurized milk is healthy enough for me. It contains all of the same proteins, fats, and essential vitamins/minerals. If I had my own dairy cows and I was doing all the processing myself, I might give it a shot. But I don't trust someone else to do it safely for me.

I've met people who grew up on farms that claim they've been drinking it their whole lives and have never gotten sick. I believe them. I also believe that there are people in India who have been bathing in the Ganges river their whole lives and have never gotten dysentery.

did he die?

So he chose to shit all over the staff and the equipment as his very last act? Absurdly, extremely based

I produce and drink about 1/2 gallon of raw goat milk every day. I think it makes me calmer, and it's filling. Occasionally it gives me gas but I've never gotten sick from it. It's my dogs' favorite food; the gather around quietly while I'm milking and wait for it.

My favorite thing on hot summer days is chilling the morning's milk in the fridge until early afternoon then adding a few tablespoons of instant coffee or espresso.

You can see if the milk is bad because there will be either blood or white clumps in it. If that happens, I used to give my goats penicillin but they became resistant so I found a homeopathic mineral cure (Pat Colby's Natural Goat Care) that works for antibiotic resistant mastitis, thank God.

Not a topic for /out/ please take your ragebait elsewhere.

Last year I supplied raw goat milk for $20/gallon to a few neighbors on a regular basis. One had a toddler who was allergic to cow's milk, and one was a senior lady who wanted to eat healthier. No one ever complained about getting sick. Although, if any of the milk looked off I tossed it and took the goat out of service until she was treated. The main thing is keeping their teats away from manure, particularly chicken manure, dog shit, etc. and also keeping their pH balanced with proper diet. Too much grain and too little hay is like humans eating too much sugar and invites systemic infections.

Family dairies built America and mandated pasteurization was a Rockefeller scam to bankrupt the rural American family and force them to sell their farm.
The same happens in Central and South America, where in the US government subsidized corn so heavily, Central and South American men who were previously corn farmers have no choice but to immigrate to the US for work.

Wow. That makes sense. Any sources (about the Rockefellers)?

To get a permit to sell my goat milk commercially (in grocery stores or cheese makers) would require an investment of maybe $60k to build a clean room, with special equipment and sewage, health department inspections etc. At least there is now a legal loophole to sell raw milk direct to consumer.

My township was actually the dairy capital of the US, I think until the 80s, until the USDA came in and paid farmers to slaughter their cattle. A few opportunistic larger dairy farms quickly bought up the smaller ones and conglomerated.

yes but the bowel release was catastrophic
imagine 10 gallons of milk evacuated
thats a final fuck you if i ever heard of one

Raw milk is like a performance enhancing drug compared to non organic milk. I can drink a gallon a day of raw or organic milk. Non organic, pasteurized milk gives me gastrointestinal distress bad.

That's not how digestion works. Nice try thou.

Tell that to my digestive system

Alright then. I accept your concession.

Raw milk can be drank only from farms where cows are kept outside, with very strict hygiene standards. Even then it's not a bad idea to cook it before drinking, since a cow can be infected with some bacteria or it's udder can have trace amount of bacteria.
>>
I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything desu, but I am curious if it tastes different/better.
>>
It's fine, but if you're not a toddler Milk in general probably isn't good for you.

Big baby. I grew up on nonpasturized, nonhomoginized milk. Used to get in trouble for not shaking the gallon glass jar to reblend the cream.

By Allah, this is Haram! Disgusting and unclean harlot behavior!

Fresh, unpasturized, unhomoginized milk just like the proto-herders drank. Imagine watching your cow's calf drinking milk just like your sons and daughters (...and you;) did when your wife was still lactating and saying to your proto-self
>i know what is happening!
>i know where to get fresh milk from now that grugette has dried up!
And the dariy industry was born! In our next episode, we will see how curdled milk becomes yogurt and cheese and why it's gross.

Cows poop a LOT and they lie around on the ground where they get mud and poop on themselves. They aren't particularly clean animals. I've milked a fair few cows in my time and while I would certainly drink raw milk I would also walk out of the milking shed covered in shit and saying "well it's only grass".

There's nothing wrong with drinking raw untreated milk but it doesn't lend itself well to sale on a large scale. The milk will have inconsistent levels of fat from bottle to bottle if it's not mixed from many different suppliers and standardized. The cream will separate quickly if it's not forced through a membrane to mix it thoroughly. It can potentially have nasty bacteria in it if it has not been tested, and it will only last a few days on a shelf.

>>2842715
It will depend on the cows some more creamy than others. Farmers are paid for milk solids not volume of milk, the milk is then all mixed up to give a consistent product. It may be more creamy than average especially if you are used to drinking low fat milk. Which when you think about it is a great scam. The fat is literally the white gold, and some companies have found a way to skim it off and sell you watery milk and convince you it's healthier or won't make you fat or something, while they use it to make another bottle of milk, or some butter or whatever
