Any ABQ locals around? I'll be passing through next week and am wondering where's the best place to watch the balloons that doesn't require a ticket. I'm willing to hike but from what I can tell from pictures they stay pretty low.

>>2842637Alright try somewhere around Alameda and 2nd. Used to go park there when I was a kid. Probably all charging money now and traffic will be crazy bad. Those fucking balloons will be visible from most of the city though really.
>>2842633I don't live there but I went to the balloon park or what it's called one day and then me and my mom drove around Abq to see them. Look at where the wind is blowing and then try to reach the higher points towards the mountain or on the west side of the Rio Grande. Sandia Resort and Casino has free parking (at least last year) and gives you a good view towards the balloon fiesta park. Pic is from the casino
