Is Kilimanjaro the highest easy mountain in the world?

You literally walk up it. There is zero climbing involved. Little kids have summited Kili.

No. Aconcagua is higher and also just a walk up.

Zero climbing equipment involved but there are sections that are a scramble. Yes, little kids have made it to the top, as have centenarians and quadriplegics. It's not mountain climbing except in the most literal sense. You do however need to have reasonable cardio fitness and able to listen to your body as various complications from altitude sickness can kill you. Success increases dramatically with each extra day added for acclimation. If you're already in the area and have a week to spare, it's worth doing.

A friend tried to do Aconcagua. She got lots of free gear and supplies for her all woman group even though there have been tons of women who have summited it before. Her group failed. From her description of things, they weren't able to acclimate properly because they went too fast. She won't admit that was the reason, claiming bad guides and weather, but her complaints were mainly about not being able to breath well and feeling weak. Arrogance is bad for proper acclimation.

My friend climbed it on a whim with his uncle. Obviously, it wasn't easy. It is harder than climbing out of bed, but my friend had done no training for it.

The question obviously isn't "is it harder than climbing out of you bed" but rather "is it harder than the hardest trail you can get to within a few hours of driving"

Depends on the aspect. Scrambles aren't all that difficult, though over large areas they can be tedious. It's really the altitude that's the issue. There's a secondary issue of temperature, which is made worse by altitude since chemical reactions can be different due to the lower oxygen levels and cold. Batteries fail and heat packs stop producing. Layers are the main way to deal with it.
The fun part is that after you summit and start your descent, you pass through a vast expanse of scree on a decent slope. You can pretend you're hopping around on the Moon while flying down the scree slopes rapidly.

When I was on Kili I was the fattest I've ever been. I have two friends that did it last year and are couch potato office-body types. There were scores of Americans there when I did, this was way before COVID. It's just not that hard, man.

And yeah, HAPE/HACE can kill you anywhere. Kili isn't unique to that.

You can get caught in the crossfire of a gang fight anywhere but it's far more common in the ghetto.

If you are depending on those to stay warm you are doing it very wrong.
