Why can't you build a multi-lane divided highway to Everest base camp and then build a plexiglass enclosed heated road to the very top so people don't have to risk DYING to see the views?
>>
>>2843607
They could put a plexiglass enclosure on my gooch so you could have a great view of my balls
>>
>>2843607
The Chinese will do this eventually. Just give it time.
>>
>>2843613
But then you have all the fun of negotiating a Chinese border crossing and visa issues to access it.

Kek gottem

>see the views
Airplanes already exist.
>>
>>2843607
Because Nepal doesn't want millions of people on Everest.

You could also organize helicopter rides to the summit. Nepal doesn't want that either.
>>
>>2843655
Nepal and what army?
Build it, and they will come.
>>
>>2843613
China sees nature as something to be transformed and gawked at. There will be those escalator conveyor belts spanning mountain ranges so Chinese tourists can just stand and take photos as they glide through sensitive ecosystems. They'll just blow a hole through a mountain and have conveyor belts of people snapping photos start piling through. It'll be like some Dr Suess shit

>plexiglass enclosed heated road to the very top so people don't have to risk DYING to see the views?
That won't fix anything and it'll be impossible to maintain. The air above a certain altitude simply does not have enough oxygen to keep brain cells from dying. Also it's a fucking TERRIBLE idea for AMS. There's a reason it takes a month of prep to do everest.

Also stop making this garbage thread. You made one a week ago. At this point it's just AI bot spam.

Who do you think is going to pay for the highway? How are you going to build a highway in a nation hostile to your construction?
>>
>>2843677
America. Armed guards. NATO goodwill force. Bribes.
>>
Yup. It's a nu-/out/ thread.
>>
>>2843613
Every US National Park is waiting to be privatized and be turned into monstrosities of nature like Grandfather mountain/Chimney Rock in NC
>>
>>2843677
I’ll bribe them.

You think the country known for carving their initials into priceless artifacts gives a shit about a mountain?
>>
>>2843709
the biggest issue there is the annoyingness of how limited their hours are tho I will say chimney rock having an elevator is NICE cuz there's still like uh 250 ish ft of steps to the very tippy top from the elevator
>>
>>2843671
>There will be those escalator conveyor belts spanning mountain ranges
you're supposed to make the ascent less dangerous, not more, anon

Avalanches.

Helicopters don't work well at that altitude because the air is too thin. Only one helicopter flight to the summit has been successful and that was made by a highly experienced pilot in a heavily modified helicopter that couldn't carry more than him and barely enough fuel for the trip.
>>
>>2843673
Have you heard of airplanes.
>>
>>2843671
not too different from America.
>>
>>2843768
Yes. But if it became an industry there'd be enough money to perfect a helicopter that could do it regularly with a passenger.
>>
>>2843768
>>2843812
They've just recently started flying to Camp 3 (only for emergencies afaik but they couldn't do it all until a few years ago) so I guess things are gradually trending in that direction.
>>
>>2843739
couldn't you build a heating system that quickly melts off any snow or ice?
>>
>>2843607
They will build escalators or cable cars there eventually. This will solve the trash problem and prevent idiots from dying on a glorified hike.
>>
>>2843935
>eventually
why are they waiting
>>
>>2843941
afaik they planned to build a huge mountaineering center in base camp, but the plans were reevaluated for "environmental concerns", which I don't really buy as an argument. I suppose one paved road to base camp is not logistically sufficient for such large project in the middle of nowhere. at least there's wifi now.

The h/c was almost bone stock
>Delsalle used a virtually standard version of the Eurocopter, only removing unnecessary elements, such as passenger seats, to reduce the standard weight by 120 kg (265 lb) and thus extend the fuel range by an additional hour.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Didier_Delsalle Usually removing seats from an aircraft is a very simple process

Everest is the main way of Nepal to gain foreign currency. Ruining Everest with a cable car is basically killing the proverbial goose that lays golden eggs.
>>
>>2843768
there's literally a regular cargo drones flight ferrying supplies and trash on and off the mountain. it can be done, it's just no one is willing to risk flying a human in
>>
>>2846358
What if the cable car made just as much money?
>>
>>2846358
>Ruining Everest with a cable car
It's already fucking ruined nigger. Shit literally looks like a landfill. Mountain of the gods? More like mountain of garbage. No one would visit any mountain that looks like this if not for its status as the ultimate selfie spot that gives people the massive bragging rights they desperately need in this age of social media

Airships can already ascend to nearly the height of Everest. If you're just interested in the view, modifying airships to work at 30,000 ft would be better than trying to come up with some way to put normies on the summit of Everest. While airplanes can already do this, if you want to linger (or just mosey around slowly), an airship with observation gondolas would be a far better experience.
>>
>>2843773
Ever look at the maintenance cost of a airplane? You do realize airplanes are pressurized vessels past a certain altitude. Good luck doing making a road that is miles long and pressurized the entire way.
>>
>>2847003
If people are willing to throw billions at electric cars and expeditions to Mt Everest, why would those with money not be willing to fund an extravagant road to replace a currently treacherous journey?
>>
>>2847002
Unfortunately we live in the timeline where Hindenburg killed public interest in airships despite planes arguably being even more dangerous.
>>
>>2847002
this nigga has never heard of lower air density
>>
>>2847040
Just means you need a larger envelope. Not sure why you think your post was smart or clever. There already are prototypes that can go much higher than 30,000 ft.
