this home owner confronted me about my headlamp being too bright and it causing his dog to freak out. my usual walk at night to the park. i just got a nitecore nu20 classic and did have it on the high setting (prob like 300 lumens) cause this part of the street is pitch black. usually use my flashlight pointed at the ground at this part but it was pretty damn cool illuminating the whole area. was I being rude? i told the guy sorry about that. i thought it's pretty fair game as long as i'm not looking at people's houses and stuff
>>2846996I think that shit is ridiculous At least where I walk, in the middle of a city, its never THAT dark
Tell him to get fucked.
>>2847004No one likes wierdos walking around the neighborhood after dark, stay home or drive
>>2847006Touch grass incel. People are allowed to walk on the street at any time
>>2846996I can’t stand using bright flashlights unless I’m looking for something hard to see that requires tons of light to find. I use a dim red headlamp when ROOONING, it’s enough for me to not trip over uneven surfaces, it shows cars I’m there without blinding the driver to the point that he can’t see where you are, only that his whole FOV is an artificial sun, it lets me see more wildlife because they don’t avoid it, and it also lets me see the stars better. It’s that other guy’s problem that his dog freaked out over a person in a public space (the road) and he can get bent, BUT I be that you’d be safer and have a more enjoyable experience with a smaller, less powerful headlamp. The part about a driver not being able to see you when you shine a light at his face is something I learned just this spring, I came around a corner while driving and had to come to a complete stop because a jogger with a giant powerful headlamp was blinding me and I had no idea if he was right in front of me about to get hit or if he was standing in the ditch 100 feet away (it was the second) because if I looked his way even a little, I couldn’t see anything but light shining in my eyes. If he had been in the driving lane close to the corner, I absolutely would have hit him before I could stop, and when I stopped, he just kept looking at me and blinding me until I rolled down the window and told him I couldn’t see him because his light was blinding. There’s a reason why people put blindingly bright lights on their handguns, if the light is being enough, you can’t see past it to aim at them. Go look at your light in the bathroom mirror with the lights off if you don’t believe me.
>>2847006fuck off bootlicker
Jannies, did you seriously delete a picture of pepe trick or treating? That is retarded. It fit the topic well.
>mods deleting my OP image Insane. Wonder if it was an accident. >>2847059Wow this is great info. Didn't know an LED headlamp was that disorienting to drivers. I know the modern cars with LED headlights are hella bad too. I'm gonna see how good the red light mode is on my nitecore and try to walk with that. Also I feel like the guys dog would have barked at me regardless if my light was on 20 lumens or 300 lumens. >>2847006You're in an outdoor board, troll bitch.
>>2846996>was I being rude?Yes. Shinning a bright light into others eyes is rude.
>>2846996idk what the normie obsession with using the biggest brightest possible light at all times isyou should be using the dimmest light possible
