The real debate isn't East vs West. It's North vs South.
For what? I'll start since this post is too vague to begin w/: firearms season lasts longer in Georgia than Minnesota, but for Ga, you need to make sure 1 of the bucks has 4 points w/ an inch on each of those points, or a 15 feet spread... in mn, you only need to make sure the antlers are 3 inches, but the firearms season lasts for 2 weeks.
>>2849239Continuing the other thread here?
>>2849241Sorry, Idk what you're talking about.
>>2849238Northern Appalachians > Southern AppalachiansGreat Lakes > Gulf of Mexicoextreme northern climates in winter > extreme southern climates in summerAlso this: https://robslink.com/SAS/democd100/government_land.htm#f_s_pctNot much of a debate
>>2849238Actually it's Red vs. Blue
>>2849280>Northern Appalachians > Southern Appalachiansthey are both nice but I will say the southern part has mostly better gorges - if you exclude new england which isn't re he heally appalachia that said rotating visits to north and south appalachia is nicethere's different things in every state
>>2849312>they are both niceyou are refering to the region not the mountains. big difference. the mts go all the way to Canada
>>2849317>>2849312Yeah objectively the best parts of the appalachians are in Maine and Canada with everything around Baxter and Gros Morne on Newfoundland for some real Fjords in North America
>>2849320the glaciated stuff is less visually compelling imho
>>2849324interesting its almost the opposite for me, I wanna go to baffin island so bad.
>>2849327have you actually seen them up close?have you actually seen the nice unglaciated gorges of southern appalachia up close?I get the sense most of the people shitting on eastern us hiking outside the major tourist zone (i.e. new england) simply have never been and are scared of the possibility of rednecks
>>2849328It is also really high on my list to visit the southern US east coast theres just something about the like ruggedness of northern land that makes me wanna go there more its like the end of earth like you've left the planet.
>>2849329I can recommend plenty of gorges if you want...But really you should just start with New River Gorge since that's really a classic. There's a trail there you can descend the canyon from top to bottom (and then back up) - do that and get back to me about how the land isn't rugged enough for younot to mention WV has a million miles of abandoned/little used trails you can get lost in I recommend Horseshoe Run (WV) if you want that try to find the abandoned Mike Run Trail - it was built by scouts in the 1980s and connects to a currently maintained (but little used) trail.
>>2849238There is no debate. South is the way>t. Northerner who's sick of snow
>>2849238California uber alles
>>2849417there's so much pro-California propaganda out there it only makes me appreciate the hiking in the east all that much more that said, it's not exactly undiscovered if you go to a popular state park and the weather is nice - the parking will be full but, there's plenty of places that are not crowded (because the roads to reach them are worse and they are more out of the way and not near a major city)
>>2849419California just has the best weather in the US and it isn't even close
>>2849320How are Americans treated in Canada these days? Would they even be able to tell. And no I'm not fat and loud kek
>>2849521Better than the poojeets, just try not to be brown.
>>2849437I'm glad you think so. Please stay there and continue to enjoy your "perfect weather".
>>2849521Just keep a low profile and have a high tolerance for just letting people spout off without interrupting or correcting their obvious schizophrenia and you'll be fine.
