Do you like exploring caves? What sort of caves have you been in?
>>2853257I explored your mom's cave.now I have herpes.
I would like to lunk some spe but frankly it scares the shit out of me
>>2853320yeah it is pretty spooky but thats part of the fun. bring some friends just in case
I like mines

>>2853257No, I actually feel uncomfortable in caves, to my own surprise.
>>2853257oh n-
>>2853257My parents did spelunking in college and I've heard enough stories about bottomless pits and ceilings so low to the ground that you have to exhale to progress forward that I am uninterested in serious caving. I've been to Mammoth Cave, however, and it was great. There's one fairly large room we stopped at on the tour in which they turned the lights out and let us experience total darkness for a minute.I visited MC like 25 years ago and I still have dreams about that room. One side of it sloped downwards and away and became lost in darkness but you could hear an underground river flowing from it. Very neat. Left an impression.
i will never get the appeal of caving. what is the pleasure in squeazing yourself through tunnels or holes that are slightly bigger than your body? this shit is the stuff of nightmares. i
>>2853257I love it, there's few options for true adventure to be had aboveground in my area nowadays.>>2853798the big ones tend to be even cooler than caves if you like exploring old ruins
>>2854452Yeah there are some seriously epic mines in the UK, and likely also a small cache of uncharted ones yet to be discovered. North Wales slate is absolutely insane if you like big chambers and ruins. We did a trip in Wales whereby we had to abseil into a canoe and punt it across a big underground lake. Was pretty hardcore. Been down some cool lead mines in the midlands too (picrel)
>>2854505Some strange artefacts down there too...
Wet day in the slate.
>>2854508Attempting to attain a stable position on the canoe
>>2854509oops forgot the picture
I like to visit caves but if the cave has cool speleothems then it's either too hard core for me to access or you have to be on a guided tour which is kind of lame, except Carlsbad, love Carlsbad. And if there aren't cool speleothems then I don't care as much, lava tubes and talus caves are just ok. Don't care for mines. When I read in National Geographic about some cave exploration with crazy formations that no human has ever laid eyes on I get jealous and suddenly want to really get into caving, it's like the ultimate last frontier that's still somewhat accessible if you put in the work for it. But I'm a lazy faggot so it's just another on the list of things I'll never actually do.
>>2854511Is this the Rhosydd to Croesor through trip? Small world if it is.
I've only ever been in a few caves and nothing serious. I really like the idea of going into a cave and finding a crystal clear blue pool at the end or something.
Not cave but dgaf. Old psych facility nearby (Buffalo NY) had tunnels under it. Would go explore them a shit ton, they led to other buildings in the facility. You could see the asbestos in the air though lmao
>>2854968Yeah mate done it twice this year funnily enough.
>>2853263Me too! OPs whore of a mother really gets around I guess.
All our caves are flooded but they’re pretty fun to dive in. Florida is great for aquatic spelunking
