You guys like birdwatching? What do you see in the winter?

>>2853652I saw a black phoebe recently, not rare but a first for me. People may think cardinals are boring but I like them. Gila woodpeckers are dickwads and eat all the cardinal food from my feeders.
>>2853652Canadian Geese, Snow Geese, Sandhill Cranes. Odd lot of quail and Pheasants also. I have a lone roadrunner who visits me too. This is in central New Mexico. The Canadian geese arrived extremely early this year compared to years past

In winter I like to go to the beach to see shorebirds and other migrants that hang around in the dunes. But I really need a better pair of binoculars and (someday) a scope. I look out at the water and in the distance are dozens and dozens of birds in the sea but I can't make them out. Lots of gulls obviously, scoters too, but I really wanna see a razorbill or something.

the other day the park near my house had at least a thousand canada geese hanging out, pretty cool.>>2853676Bosque del Apache in winter is one of my favorite places I've been.I don't do much birdwatching specifically but I've always got an eye out while on hikes or other outings and usually carry my binoculars, it's always nice to spot wildlife of any sort.
