Land that conservation agencies refuse to allow to be open to the public outright should be turned into condos for millionaires instead.
>>
>>2853939
your a schizophrenic
>>
>>2853940
If I can't hike there, someone should at least get to live there.
>>
>>2853939
Conservation of land while banning human access doesn't make sense.

Who are you conserving it for??? If you aren't conserving it for human use, there is no point of conserving it at all.
>>
>>2853942
based retard
>>
>>2853942
agreed, but boomers don't care about reality
>>
>>2853939
>Land that conservation agencies refuse to allow to be open
Such as?

...and dont mention the Nature Conservancy cuz that land is private- they can do with it whatever they want....unless you dont believe in private property...
>>
>>2853942
>Who are you conserving it for???
Humans need healthy ecosystems to survive, If ecosystems collapse so do humans.
>>
>>2853943
Eventually the entire world will burn and everything will die. So why would you conserve land unless it is for the purpose of humans being able to enjoy nature while it is still around?
>>
>>2853947
I don't believe in private property.
>>
>>2853948
This does not require banning human access to land, only banning human development of land.
>>
>>2853939
What are these "conservation agencies"

cool. give me all your stuff.
>>2853952
meh. maybe. it cant hurt to keep humans out for awhile and let it heal
>>
>>2853955
anyone who owns land with nice views or water features where such land is not open to public access, under the pretense that such land is owned for purposes other than development or commercial/industrial use
>>
>>2853952
What a fucking retard.

1) Animals avoid humans.
2) If human activity is noticed, animals will leave an area.

Ive hiked through areas that had been closed for a year or two and there were snakes and small game that were not present before the closure.
Once people returned the animals left again.
Im talking about places ive hiked for decades.
>>
>>2853939
>if I cant access it, it should be destroyed
holy retard batman.

>>2853957
>anyone who owns land with nice views or water features
So...me? I own 20 acres with an amazing view...but because I dont want you on it, you think it should have condos on it instead.

How fucking retarded are you?
>>
>>2853951
Coincidentally, you don't own any land either. Coincidentally.
>>
>>2853941
Wrong.
>>
>>2853939
This view could be almost anywhere in West Virginia.
T. Best Virginian
>>
>>2853999
wv is slightly differently shaped
less jagged
this is north carolina
>>
>>2853939
you could still go in there you know. i routinely veer off trail and trespass in conservation areas
>>
>>2854001
I hate that it's all a game where they set all these rules and try to catch you. Feels like a hunt and I am the hunted.
>>
>>2854000
Dub Vee is more jagged bro
Its all the peaks in your photo
As far as the eye can see usually
The thing that really makes the photo no depict WV is the flat area in the foreground.
Thats why people don't sense the mountains here, there are no foothills only little jagged peaks.
Posted from a steep valley, the other 50% of the state
>>
>>2854003
no, NC has way more serrated peaks than WV does
WV overall is more rounded especially in the interior
>>
>>2854004
I mean
Not trying to undermine your credibility regarding the two mountainous areas bro.
But do those peaks in the posted pic qualify as jagged to you?
Are you saying the WV peaks in general are more rounded than those?
Cuz I been literally all over this state, from huntington to morgantown to lewisburg over 11 years.
And the peaks I see every day are the same or more pointed than those in the pic.
In fact I thought the pic was kinda mellow when I first posted regarding its similarity to WV.
But anyway, its a dumb thing to argue over.
Just wanted to say that I see a SIMILAR view all the fuck over this state.
In fact I comment that its almost monotonous after a while.
Good day to you.
>>
>>2854006
this is just a zoomed in photo meant to illustrate the contrast between peaks and housing
in general ive found nc to have more jagged shaped peaks
post some jagged wv peaks (but no cheating by posting quartzite outcroppings)
I mean you have things like baker rocks, seneca rocks, those are jagged but those are just quartzite left behind when the sedimentary rocks erode
I'm pretty exhausted right now, but I have plenty of photos I think of jagged NC peaks and less jagged WV ones
>In fact I comment that its almost monotonous after a while.
there's always a uniqueness to the fractals, subtle differences in the design
there's this gorgeous view you can only get from a road somewhere in extreme southern WV south of panther wildlife management area and its just stacks of rounded hills but they are in a unique shape
I want to go back and get a photo but its a narrow road with no pull off and no trespassing signs everwhere
sort of like a ridge road up at 2000 ft above panther creek

Why would millionaires want to be somewhere so far away from civilization? I understand the peace and quiet but there's a a lot of land for people to camp out and rob you or kidnap you for ransom and a long ways for emergency responders to travel.
>>
>>2854031
Well, in pic related I think you are about 3-4 hours from some of the major piedmont cities of the south, so its like a weekend and holiday retreat to be somewhere more quiet, and also there's ski resorts in the area

>but there's a a lot of land for people to camp out and rob you or kidnap you for ransom
you don't really hear about that happening

highlands nc, also, is filled with gated country clubs and estates and they probably have security too so I guess if you are rich enough, you've thought of that already, and also, the terrain is forbidding so it's gonna be hard for bad guys to even get there
>>
>>2853957
So not agencies, then? Private landowners? If you have a problem with their land management you could always buy it from then.
>>
>>2854043
>just have millions of dollars bro
