would a solo alpine winter ascent of K2 without oxygen be a greater feat than free soloing El Capitan?

>Alpine winter ascent of K2
Are you just throwing out every word you learned today?

They aren't comparable, they are testing completely different skills.

>without oxygen
I'm not very well versed in mountaineering, but is it even humanly possible to survive long enough in the "death zone" of mountains such as K2 to summit AND come back down out of the death zone? Is it possible, time-wise?
>>

Yes. A good number of people have climbed 8000m peaks without oxygen.

This is a great trip report by someone who did K2 unguided without oxygen if you want to read one

this, OP is clearly a retard

Holy shit that's a great read, thank you so much. I'm a sucker for anything about expeditions to K2 and Annapurna.

You should read some of this other trip reports (he is trying to summit the highest peak in every country). His trip report for the highpoint of Afghanistan is great.
>>
Reminder that mountaineers are literally losing braincells every time they go after massive peaks that put them above 8000m without bottled oxygen

>read this
>all the climbers are all huge assholes, litter, steal anything not nailed down, shit all over the place, vandalize anything they can find, fuck everything up as much as they can, scream at eachother for touching a rope, kick rocks down at eachother, blast music and fireworks all night

Wow climbing sounds fucking terrible
I cant believe people pay thousands for such a shit ass experience

Welcome to most hobbies that require $$$ to do at the high end. Same with Skiing, Snowboarding, Mountaineering, etc.

I think sherpas haul all the shit down the mountain these days. That's if you bother to shit in a bag and put it into a dedicated human waste container up there on the mountain.

based gilbertson enjoyer.

He's not even 40 yet and he only has a few technical summits left. Idk what he is gonna do about Bhutan but everything else he can do when he is older.
