I do this as a job, it's called surveyingDon't use a compass inside a building, if you need a bearing reference get a point outside and find it's bearing to a point inside, ideally straight north, and then turn that angle using like a protractor under a string line to get the bearing of your first indoor line to the next point
>>2854435I did shit myself this morning. Anyways. Even at my best I am still not really nailing it with this thing. It's fun as hell though.
>>2854443It's really just practicing the steps. I know they compass is getting pulled all over the place. It is shocking how far off I still am no matter how careful I am when doing it. If I had steady instruments I would be closer but some of these are of by 2 or 3 feet. I plan on doing the radio towers in town next, but I am not sure if the mistakes are exagorated on the smaller scale or if they will get worse when I go to a large scale. i really hope the relative accuracy goes up with scale.
>>2854443waaait wait wait waitso let me get this straightOP posts on /out/ and essentially OP wants to create mapsfor the purpose of which OP probably got a compass delivered using amazon primeOP then tries to, using a compass, draw a map of his domicile, fails, throws a fit and gives up?Pottery.
