What's /out/ opinion on boot knives? Thinking of getting one because they're the easiest fixed blade knives to EDC that are also large and easy enough to conceal. Survival knives are too large and look mall-ninja-tier when edc'd and neck knives are usually too small.

That's a dagger. Learn the difference. A dagger has less utility than a knife and it's purpose is hopefully none of your priorities. Get a knife instead.

quit being a fag, anything you can do with a knife, you can do with a dagger, the only thing you can't do is baton wood well and that should not bother you faggy ass non-batoners anyway. Plus they're super handy for dealing with off leash doggos, entitled Karens and off board faggots.

Get gud faggot, carve that try-stick with the dagger.

They are beautiful, but not good as general purpose knives.

I like the idea of carrying a small dagger in my boot. But, I don't wear boots and my lame country has made fixed-blade knife carrying illegal without "good reason" where the only real good reason is going camping. So that is when I carry a decent knoife, and if they try to deny my good reason they can suck my shit since the truth IS the truth.

The baggy bottomed pants you need to conceal a weapon like that are impractical and become wet and filthy and irritating very quickly, and let in ticks and bugs. Pants need to be gathered or cuffed at the ankle or tucked into the boot. You're also adding significant weight to your feet carrying a weapon like that and doing so asymmetrically, that's bad.

This
I don't know whether carrying a knife in your boot is ever done for serious reasons, don't know enough about specops and spooks and shit. But doing it /out/ is pants on head retarded.
>>

The most practical setups are: scout rigged at the small of your back, inverted on a pack strap or on a dangler secured to your leg, just like any other knife. duh.

Don't get hung up on the "boot" thing you could do that with any knife.

The only reason you'd be worried about concealing it is because you live in a nanny-state that won't let you run with scissors.

piss off you retarded man child

daggers are made for slipping between ribs, they dont have many other functions. If you'd ever tried to use a dagger for anything else you'd see why.

again, a skill issue, get gud.

Also fun for throwing, now go put that apple on your head if you don't mind, and don't move.

That dagger and my Danes have killed more hogs than you and has no chips on it and I'm fairly certain I have more knives than all of you stock image posting larpers.

The "desk" is a workbench in my garage that probably gets more action than you do, and after two days " larp" was the best you could come up with, pathetic.

A boot knife is any knife you carry in/on your boot. There are reasons that you may want to do this but frankly if you're asking /out/ about it then you probably don't have a practical reason. Soldiers in certain roles might have gear the makes belt carry impractical, you often see (or at least saw) that in airborne troops. That's also why Chris Redfield carries his knife the way he does in RE1. I carried a knife in my boot in high school because I was often accosted by homeless people on the way home but it was only in my boot at school for concealment, it was in my pocket as soon as I was on my way home so I could actually get to it.

You're probably determined to do this no matter what anyone tells you so I recommend that you get the S&W HRT, it's a copy of the Gerber Mk1. Everyone in China makes a copy of the Mk1 but S&W's comes with a better sheath than most and even if you use this thing most of what you'll be doing is carrying it. If you're willing to spend a little more money then Cold Steel's integral dagger is nice and also comes with a nice sheath.

Are you really trying to impress us with a stainless steel, Pakistani rennfair piece?

And Jesus Christ, vacuum your keyboard.

>Asked about boot knives, posted a picture of a dagger
This thread went to shit pretty fast, but it's not really surprising.
Having a knife in your boot is retarded and makes you run funny as you chafe. Get a decent fixed knife with only one sharp edge about 4-6 inches in length, and carry it at your waist. Easy to do if you wear a belt. Works for whittling, cutting cords or fishing line, cutting up an apple, or whatever else. If you're trying to see what piece of metal helps you win a knife fight, the answer is a gun.

About that, the bigger and even larpy ren-fair boots are probably the best suited for that kind of use, although either a custom built in sheath would be needed or some way to strap it to your leg first like scuba divers do. YMMV
