I used to worry about kcals/oz and macros, now I just eat whatever I know I'll be able to stomach while out of breath and tired. Some examples are shortbread cookies, peanut m&ms, ham and cheese sandwich with avocado and hot sauce and buffalo chicken tender sandwich with blue cheese dressing. As always, winter is peak since you can bring perishables without worrying about the cheese going bad or anything in the heat..

Putting napkins in the bag of a loaf of bread absorbs moisture and keeps it from molding for a longer time. For me, a jar of peanut butter and bread is my favorite. Energy drinks mixed with electrolytes (apparently already a thing that another anon mentioned itt) is really good.

Provides a great way to boost your protein intake when AMS has fucked your appetite or if you're subsisting on rice+beans from local villages. The performance boost is real.You could use whey protein or other meal replacements but BCAAs are much more enjoyable when mixed with water and that makes a difference when you're trying to force yourself to get enough calories+protein to keep moving. Some of the new 'protein waters' are similarly palatable so I might switch to them but they are often composed primarily of hydrolysed collagen peptides which are unlikely to be as beneficial as BCAAs or a complete protein like whey.
