Are radiator or those big oil jugs good for storing gasoline temporarily for a day or two if you had to fill one up? I hear gasoline will soften and eat up certain plastic bottles. Who makes big bottles with a big cap opening to put a gasoline station fuel nozzle in it?
Gas stations won't let you fill kitty litter jugs and 5 gallon bubbler jugs with guzzoline because it's a fire hazard. Pretty sure gas cans are designed to be low-static and not produce any kind of sparks
>>2857651They're going to be too busy tending to customers to watch me put oil into a bottle.
>>2857651Idk, the number of people filling trash bags in their trunks full of gas before every major hurricane makes me doubt that the gas station wagies give enough of a shit to do anything other than record idiots committing Rube Goldberg suicide.
>>2857665>people filling trash bags in their trunks full of gasThis rings a vague bell for some reason. Was this a big thing on the news a few years ago? I don't live anywhere near hurricane-prone areas but this sounds familiar to me.
>>2857668Any time people have to evacuate the authorities have to beg morons to not fill “unapproved” containers. It happens during gas shortages too, like when Colonial Pipeline had that ransomware attack and stopped delivering gas to the South East, and in other countries too, like when Russia was having inconsistent supply in rural oblasts due to refinery bombings.
>>2857668There's a viral video of an asian lady filling up a grocery store plastic shopping bag with gasoline trying to transport it somewhere and it melts and spills all over the ground.
>>2857673I'm not paying $30 for a 1 gallon gasoline bottle with one of those cuck spouts when I can just keep my 5L oil bottles next oil change. I just need to find one which can fit a gasoline nozzle.
>>2857676The “repair nozzle kits” typically have multiple thread adapters. One should fit, I’d think.
>>2857650Glass, steel etc. You can usually find jerry cans at the tip shop though and they're made for it. I have six I got for nothing.
>>2857679I'm looking more off-the-shelf things that can be repurposed for gasoline bottles once used.
>>2857651It's no sparks. It's venting and pressure in a hot environment.
