They're horrible for indoor plumbing and take a little longer to compost than regular TP but they're multipurpose and more environmentally friendly than things like wet wipes. Practicality and pack size makes the difference.

Toilet paper was heavier than I expected comparatively and cat holeing was super stupid. In Franklin North Carolina I found a squeeze water bottle and had the idea, I'm already carrying water to drink why not put some in a tiny squeeze bottle and just spray my ass. Worked great for the rest of the summer.
