This guy made a bicycle trailer, the walls are made out of pink panther foam (xps), so apparently light weight. I was thinking of building one, but in the shape of a box (with a slide out inner box for my legs). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPxb5oyxzGs&list=LL&index=37
>>2858170That seems like a lot of weight and resistance to drag on a bicycle.
>>2858171What if one is off and has a lot of time to just bike a bit, then rest and chill a bits somewhere. And repeat? Is 30 kg dragging behind you on 2 wheels really that hard? Genuine question, cause i have no idea myself
>>2858170Bike trailer builds are kino as fuckAnything to live unregulated Europe/Scandinavia has America beat as fuck in this regard, look up the different shit they've created it's really awesome
>>2858172With gears its not so much about effort as it is time.
BeholdA quad bike with articulating chassis
just pack a tent lmao
>>2858170I think it's a good way to get trapped and raped by hobos.
>>2858255What if OPs intent was always hobo sex?
>>2858255Seems like a good way to get all your gear stolen
>>2858170Really want to see this in high winds.
The real question is "for what purpose?"Cruising from tent to tent at Burning Man?Youll probably get laid in it.Cruising down the boardwalk in Mission Beach? If it doesnt get stolen by the homeless youll probably get harassed by the cops for suspicion of dealing drugs. For camping? It will crumble from jarring impacts on rough terrain. For a cross-country road trip? All larping aside it would get demolished from wind on the open road.
>>2858171And yet not so much weight that it won't turn into a kite and take your bike with it.
They dont want you to be free and unregulatedI actually want to start a bike camper movement, you can live 95% disconnected from society this wayThey dont want you to be free
>>2858172yes it is hard. even the slightest wind will.make it impossible.
>>2858376You aren't free. You're just a leech. Your entire life is predicated on the indulgence and creations of society, you literally could not survive without it. You are not free.
>>2858396Be mad you plainly lack the balls and skill to live outside the system
>>2858170I'd love to see someone break on a down hill slope with one of these.
>>2858396How are you affording food?
A front box is goodElectric + campingEasy as that
>>2858421I had an idea to have this + some platforms that connect/lock into place and it basically becomes a popup camper
When everybody owns fucking nothing and everything is subscription based you will be a KING if you have a bike camper build.
I would love to share ideas, because this is not something that has a market. The ideal market is a hobo and a proper camper build would cost a few grand. It doesn't line up. This is reserved for custom passion projects.
>build bike campers for hobos>bill the government for itI, for one, would find this very funny
>>2858255this is the most hobo thing I have ever seen anon what are you talking about. What are you even doing on /out/ if you're scared of hobos you faggot
>>2858426Why? The "government" just takes money from citizens. Like me. Like you. Do you actually think there's some mysterious government out there paying for shit out of their own pocket? Its your fucking pocket, retard. Your fucking money. My fucking money. Everyone's money EXCEPT these worthless parasites. Why is that funny to you? You're paying for it, dipshit. What do you think taxes are? How fucking dumb are you?
>>2858170>>2858213I kneel
>>2858608Anon they just print it out of thin air you are paying taxes for fun every single dollar that exists is a fake 1/10th of a real dollar Give the government endless IOUs, it changes nothing The economy is a black box, you child, just don't fucking look inside and it keeps working the downstream slave labor that you reference has nothing to do with money, they could assign any random numbers to this and it would work
>>2858631What a pathetically stupid opinion You might impress a middle schooler with this shit
>>2858634Those are facts, actually. Keep believing. It is a direct function of the economy that the rules only apply at the bottom. That is it's literal motive force. You jackass. It isn't 1920.
>he thinks his dollars are 1:1 with the treasuries and banking systems of the worldhahahahahahahaha point and laugh
>thread starts talking about money and not advice on the topicnot surprised op (or anyone else), im unironically very possibly going to become homeless in the coming months and this seems like a good way to "get out" of the major consequences of iti dont have a bike but i know how to ride one. i dont have camping gear (that is suitable at least) but have gone camping. any advice?
>>2858400>he posts over tcp/ipSome people are just so fucking stupid it hurts
What in the muttpost is going on in this thread
>>2858789Cute goalpost, buttercupYour statement has nothing to do with your lack of balls You think you can accuse purity spirals and nobody will notice you're evading the original critiqueYou're dumb, and a coward
>>2858416You aren't. Lol.
>>2859808>no skillsMust suck being you
>>2859832I accept your concession, I guess.
>>2859837Lmao sad cope
>>2858170Weight isn't that much of an issue, unless you gotta go fast. The problem is drag. Good luck trying to pull that on a windy day. If you want to build something similar, you'd better go for a foldable design that is as flat as possible when folded down.
This board is so funny because most threads are just two retards fighting many magnitudes away from the point of the thread
>>2858170disgusting, looks like a homeless trolley or one of those 3rd world rickshaw bike thing
Hmm right idea wrong way of going about it. Seriously just get a backpack and pack a tent or whatever. As for the bike what you could do is get a bunch of baskets or things that allow you to carry as much weight as possible. And if you get an electric bike that you can still peddle manually you could use that if the weight is too much or if tired. This is what the Mexicans in my area do.
>>2858170I mean that is probably fun for one little trip, but overall it is kind of stupid and doesnt have any benefits. Just pack a tent
>>2858396dumb normalfag.
>>2862147I accept your concession
>>2862213nice cope slaveboy
>>2858213>with articulating chassisWhy
>>2858170>so apparently light weightlol the walls might be made of foam, but the skeleton is two (!!) bike trailers and wood. He basically built a box kite attached to ~40 pounds of metal. worst of all worlds.
>>2858170>made from pink panther foamwhere does he store his food, and does he eat or cook in there or ever spill food / scraps inside there?A raccoon / bear / skunk / squirrel will be through that foam in less than a minute
>>2858920What critique the only way to survive as a bike hobo is on modern infrastructure go try subsistence farming you nonce.
>>2862502And mice. They will just tear through it. >>2862604Larper
>>2858608>Thinks government numbers, facts, figures and other forms of mathematical Hebrew nonsense are real NGMI.
>>2858170I'm still team pannier personally. Mostly for mobility, one can fit easily in an elevator or, with relative ease, carry their fully loaded bike up a flight of stairs, you can also fly with it if you want to chase weather. Some come with dishpits which would be nice, but you'd need hook ups which are pricier at campgrounds and hard to find in public. If you could swing a couple mega batteries, a star link and perhaps a robust dynamo or solar pannels so you could say perform 40 hours programming before a recharge i could see it making sense
>>2862636nice cope slaveboy
