Guys, I think my dad will kick me out soon.
Can I realistically survive in Winter?
I live in a wet part of Europe in a city in the plains, but the mountains are close and that's where my heart lies and will head there, since I want to be far and cut all safety nets and bonds to them, not because I hate them, but because I love them and don't want to hurt them no more.
I have little funds and thus not enough money to use a car, I have a bike, but it seems unwieldy in the forests especially now when there is probably snow and if not snow a lot of mud.
Can one survive with only a backpack until spring, I don't know where if I would lay camp, we have some land in the mountains, but that would probably lead me back to them.
But a backpack seems too little space, I would need a tent, some pots and tools, clothes, books, a sleeping bag and a couple kg of flour, I'd eat fish for meat and also I will need my laptop, although I wouldn't have electricity and it would probably get wet.
I have this image of Sam's backpack from Lord of the Rings.
Books and clothes seem like they wouldn't fit, I'd also have to somehow cycle trough the books at home or borrow from libraries in the mountain cities. I also am tempted to take one of my telescopes, but it definitely won't have space because of the mount and tripod.
Books and telescopes are desires and I'll have to settle for libraries, e-reader and laptops, but clothes seem essential for a long winter trip.
Farm and shepherd dogs will also be a likely problem.
My hopes are that the wild will toughen me up.
What do you guys recommend?

Dang man, this remembers me of a dream I had, I was done living with my family so I just gone to the woods and lived inside a whole on the side of a hill, Minecraft Style.

Idk how legal stuff works in your country, but if you lived in that house for some time they can't just legally kick you out.

If my family kicked me out I would never speak to them, sometimes I got drunk and just "Run away" in the middle of the night, and woke up on my GF house lol
>>
>>2860191
It's not about that, I'd be able to talk my way out in 5 minutes, it's just that I can't take it anymore, being a burden and all.
I could maybe go to our Grandparents' home in the countryside, but it would be like enjoying a vacation while everyone else works.
Trying to get back up on my own feels like the only right path.

>yet another runaway from home thread
I recommend you get a part time job and contribute at some symbolic level to the household and you probably won't get thrown out, a soft knobgoblin like yourself will get rolled by the diversity of all your LARP gear within the first few days.

wait didn't you already post this a month ago?
>>
>>2860196
a part time job won't cut it
i come from a family of doctors, engineers and uni professors, all my grandparents and male great grandparents went to university
my brain is fried by the internet and i just can't learn anymore and all the exams will be over in 2 weeks
getting a part time job would just make them resent me more and will make fun of me and will ask me if i want this to be my whole life and will probably make me resign after 2 weeks and go back to school because they d probably talk to the teachers to pass me anyway
you probably don't live with this kind of people
they are all super driven and don't know what laziness is, my family is also not rich rich to be able to just allow me to do nothing
they are all like fucking unstoppable steel locomotives who can't brake and are just brute forcing trough all of life's problems as if they don't exist, all of them parents, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents
no, that wasnt me, i didnt make any threads for moths here
>>
>>2860199
well, you are fucked then, cause the hobbit LARP isn't going to work anymore than you do.
>>
Regardless of your family, figure out what you want to do with your life rather than being homeless by default. There are short studies (2-3 years) that prepare you for a job without being as gay as college classes

And the internet sucks what's with the AI and whatnot. There comes a point where I'm happy to have a job sometimes because I've seen every movie, played every game, fapped to every porn and there's nothing to do at home but doomscroll through youtube. Humans need exercice, sunlight and social relationships to live a healthy life

can you negroes not turn this into a therapy session or a lecture
how would you go about surviving the winters with just a backpack
do i need many clothes or can i have just 2 changes and cycle trough them and wash them every couple days
>>
>>2860229
No one is engaging with your question because its a stupid one. You wont make it. End of story.
>>
>>2860229
Even in Mediterranean countries it regularly gets under 0 during winter, you won't be able to dry your clothes and you'll constantly sweat into them and become stinky. You might also get various Illnesses from sleeping on cold ground, not to to mention the risk of being stalked by some retard who will kill you for fun
>>
>>2860234
>the risk of being stalked by some retard who will kill you for fun
Extremely unlikely. That kind of thing happens in big cities sometimes, but not out in the wilderness. Noone's there to stalk him.

Listen well, i know you don't want to hear this but life doesn't get easy wherever you go. Mountains and the outdoors provide a different way but i guarantee it is at least as hard (and this is an understatement) as being a steel locomotive and crushing your problems in academics. Your best course of action is sitting down on your butt and start studying. Doesn't matter on what, you need to decide on your niche in life. Ideally something usefull to the society, that makes good money, and is something you like doing. Being homeless is neither of those. Being able to live outside is an immense pleasure, and so is knowing you have gained skills, knowledge and experience in doing so. Being forced to do it however, is a fucking nightmare. Your entire livelihood depends on various tools and actions to work in a manner you have planned, and if anything unfortunate happens that you have failed to foresee and take measures against, you are at the mercy of uncaring nature. Best case scenario, you will live to be a retard that wasted their life. If you have the means, it is your obligation to yourself to live a life you love. The outdoors you spend time knowing you have a home, warm food and hot water and clean clothes to return to is incredibly pleasant unlike the outdoors you are trapped in. Study, work your ass off, be a locomotive and live your life like a king. It shouldn't be THAT unpleasant.

>My brain is fried by the internet and i just can't learn anymore
Google pomodoro techniques, do 2 hours a day. I use Abao in Tokyo but others work fine. There is no such thing as "just can't learn" i thought it forever and reality was just nobody had shown me.
>you probably don't live with this kind of people
"waaahhh nobody knows how hard life is for me! I'm so unique and my experiences are so different! you just wouldn't get it!" god I can hear the teenage angst.

We have this thread every week you mong. If you are too stupid to pass school you're definitely too stupid to survive on your own out in the wild unsupported. Especially if you have zero experience which is evident by your stupid ass question.

i went to the national math olympiad and had very good results
im not stupid its just that i cant learn anymore with all these distractions and i think being isolated in the forest will be good
building a little shack would be of course the best course of action, but even though i have my own land, its all tied to the family and they ll probably come to bring me back
its also not that working is hard, i love working and creating, but these computers are so distracting, every time i get isolated from them i start reading like 100 page a day and do math problems again
the irony is that i study cs so i cant get away from them, wanted to go to math, but was too much of a retard, thinking cs is better than math in my country/city, only to later find out how rich of a history my city and country have in the mathematics of the second half of the past century
my mind is a mess right now, i literally have hundreds of tabs open on my computer and another save file with a hundred more and 3000 videos in watch later, and all this stuff needs organizing and read and watched and also school and also reading hundreds of books and learning new subjects and playing video games
and i have all these ideas i want to implement, but i fucking cant
i could maybe go into some small town in another part of the country and become a welder or mechanic or electrician, but im socially awkward and cant fucking talk to people and working class people would probably make fun of me and call me a faggot
i really think being a tramp for a couple moths would freshen up my mind and be a baptism by fire
if i die i die, it means i wasnt strong enough
i know the cold, i know how much wood it takes to heat up a place when its snowing outside
i know how dangerous water and rain are and how they just drain all the heat out of you in minutes

My family is composed of university graduates. Paternal grandfather and uncle studied law at Harvard. Maternal grandfather owned oil company and sent his kid to uni such that they are/were geologist, nurse and teachers. Father has PhD in economics, sisters are masters in nursing and education.

I also have masters in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Archaeology. I flip eggs and make sandwiches for homeless in a shelter. I am doing more for society than anyone in my family.

Why don't you learn cryptocurrency trading? You can make shitloads of money more than your UniVerSity EduCaTed ParEnTs and it's relatively easy. Get a USB modem and a 5G dataplan for your laptop and you can trade from your tent in the woods or something. You would need a tiny bit of starting capital to do this of course.

My parents divorced when I was in High School and I stayed with my dad when my mom left. My dad remarried and his new wife didn't like me because I reminded her of his first wife. My dad kicked me out when I turned 18 and I stayed with my sister until I left for the army after I graduated high school.
Sounds bad but I learned a lot and now own my own home and have a large 401k from working my whole life.
Dad and stepwife died a while back and I enjoy my life now after making it on my own.
>>
>>2860265
>become a welder or mechanic or electrician
Have you ever done any of these things or is this another fantasy you're staring at through rose tinted glasses?
>my mind is a mess right now, i literally have hundreds of tabs open on my computer and another save file with a hundred more and 3000 videos in watch later,
So prioritise and identify areas of waste. Go look at something like the Toyota Production Systems 7 wastes and categorise them. Why do you need to spend time processing all these videos? are these videos important? what is the urgency level on each of these tasks (e.g. do you *really* need to be playing games now?)
When I first moved out and was doing my degree part time I didn't have internet and I just didn't play video games for a year. I used my phone as a hotspot to research and just studied.
Also stop adding things to your list to "be organised" you need to categorise at upload (or at point of saving). The whole "oh I need to find time to categorize them" is self created.
>and i have all these ideas i want to implement, but i fucking cant
Welcome to life. Write your ideas in a notebook and then forget them until you have free time/resources. I've got notebooks filled full of ideas I know I don't have time for right now.
>working class people would probably make fun of me and call me a faggot
Having this attitude about working class people would make that happen yeah. But generally speaking most working people I've ever met have been far nicer than highly educated University types.
>i really think being a tramp for a couple moths would freshen up my mind and be a baptism by fire
Every idiot thinks that just giving in to their base desired and "vibes" will work and that they're fine with the consequences until the consequences actually hit them because deep down they never believed they would actually experience consequences because they're the main character in their story deserving their redemption arc.
>>
>>2860367
>>2860265
when I talk abotu 7 wastes etc what I am talking about is the activities in your life, not your 3000 videos, tabs etc.
Also start triaging new tasks by:
>High impact, little time
>High impact, large time
>Low impact, little time
>Low impact, large time
Also stop saving media to "watch later" or keeping a million tabs open. It's ridiculous to feel pressure because you overwhelmed yourself with nonsense media. There are browser extensions like unplug that can help with this and the pomodoro method helps against distractions.

Enough being so fucking whiny seriously, the word "cant" appears 4 times in your spiel. Are you a baby? a child? this defeatism is just your brain trying to weasel out of doing what it must.
>all this stuff needs organizing
Should have done it at entry
>and read and watched
Why? It's just media. Watch it later and focus on the time sensitive task.
>and also school
Which should be your focus
>and also reading hundreds of books
Why? so you can jerk off about how much you read? just focus on what is needed for school since that is clearly the time sensitive task.
>and learning new subjects
So stop wasting time learning things not relevant to solving the problem in front of you.
>and playing video games
Why? You can play videogames the whole rest of your life. You know what running away for a couple months gets you? Nothing. It just wastes time you clearly need.

Your whole problem is self created because you won't prioritise activities.
>>
>>2860188
Volunteer at a hostel or something that gives you a place to stay and start saving up. If not possible get a seasonal job. We're in spring almost so there's lots of jobs in that will be available soon. You don't need experience if you don't mind washing dishes, waiting tables or doing some kind of physical work. Stop your homeless larping fantasies because you'll just be miserable and broke. Go and save up and then travel for a more interesting experience. It will afford you gear and means to hike and visit interesting places.

tl;dr quit being a retard
>>
>>2860401
Also, if you get the seasonal job thing going, many of them are /out/ related or in /out/ locations. For proper /out/ stuff you'll probably need more qualifications and experience but that's something you can look forward to. There's nothing better than being young, 0 responsibilities, some disposable income and stability you get from 6 months on/off sort of thing.
>>
>>2860265
Forget about video games and watching videos. Start studying in your free time and go to the mountains for short hikes every single weekend. The forests will clear your mind from distractions but you also need to help yourself with clearing your mind from them. The best advice that i can give you is to think about your education, what university/college/cource you will get after it and how much money you will get for achieving you dreams (that can be a cabin in the woods and free time for practicing survival skills). So you can be the next Ted Kaczynski.
>>
>>2860534
>So you can be the next Ted Kaczynski.
well, he can put on the dresses, but it's up to the CIA if they choose to make him an asset.

thank you, anon
Becoming a mechanic or electrician isnt pipe dream, I ve always been good at math and fixing things, so it would come natural, other option would be cnc machining
by video games I don't mean I play it mindlessly, I didn't grow up video games but I want to finish some fromsoft ones and a couple classics which are part of the cultural zeitgeist, but id play after my life is fixed, playing video games or with lego or watching movies and series seems only possible when you are stress free and dont feel like you need to do something else
now im kind of a limbo of youtube videos, unfinished tasks and doom scrolling
but thank you for your advice
but idk seems that living like a hermit is the best option for getting back on track, the city and internet have too many distractions
>>
>>2860606
getting stabbed by gypsies isn't going to get your "life on track" son.
>>
>>2860188
do not listen to all the retards here. Surviving in the wilderness is easy and fun but can be boring. You need a sleeping mat (they are cheap, like 10 euro on decathlon) and a warm sleeping bag (the cheap ones are not warm enough, but you can still use them with warm clothing inside. cheap ones are 40 euro, warm ones are + 80 euro +. Go with synthetic, not down, cuz more water resistant and resistant in general) . Dont bother with a tent or a tarp, they are fundementally useless, they dont add warm and it rarely rains, and if its rains it means that its +0c...just find a shelter or wait with your rainy jacket till it stops.

You are in a stepping stone in you life wiitch desire wilderness and shit. You absolutely need this experience. Dont listen to these retards.

The only thing is it can be boring, this is where you still need to find a shitty temporary job, just as a pastime and indipendent money (you will not ask money to family) and gym .When you are in that stage, find a better job.
>>
>>2860606
>but idk seems that living like a hermit is the best option for getting back on track, the city and internet have too many distractions
this is extremely irrational, anon. you are escaping to a fantasy, and I get it, you feel a purpose, even a joy, planning and looking at equipment and retreating to your mind palace to figure out all the possible problems and scenarios. it's giving you a substitute satisfaction that you'd typically get from a job or life

your larp is so intense that you're thinking about problems encountered in Fellowship of the Ring (farms and shepherd dogs...?) as realistic hurdles you have to plan for. you're being ridiculous.

here's what you do. tell your parents you're going on a trip for a week. then, do your plan. a backpack, some clothes, sleeping bag, an ereader, hell, bring one of your dozens of telescopes because it's fine. you can even bring a week's worth of food. see how it goes.

that'll solve your delusions pretty quick, but more importantly it'll get it out of your brain so you can start doing other things.
>>
>>2860248
>something usefull to the society, that makes good money
These are mutually exclusive, bar a few exceptions in the medical field. Seriously, you can gauge how important your job is by how bad you are paid for the type of work you do.
>>
>>2862061
This used to be true, but increasingly isn't anymore. We flooded the white collar markets so heavily that the pay plummeted, while the blue collar jobs have gone up. A plumber or electrician is 1000x more useful to society than a programmer or account manager, and they probably make twice as much. That gap is only going to get wider and wider as the AI bubble grows

It'll all pop and swing to the other direction eventually, but it's never been a better time to do something useful that pays a lot.

Travel a few towns/cities over and then use whatever services exist for homeless people. Once spring comes, you will have a better time outside.

A lot of the services hurt by the Big Beautiful Bill went into effect at the end of last year, those services are completely strapped and are actively shedding beneficiaries. it's going to be a brutal few years.

Anon's best bet is to claim domestic abuse, even then it's unlikely unless he's very young or very old
