DWR is truly the devils workIt works fine and dandy out of factory, but god forbid you get stains or perfume on it, and then its basically ruined forever. Bonus: f your dryer do not get hot enough, it can't activate the coating. If its hot enough, there is a good chance its going to ruin the outwear, ideally by melting seams. What you bought a fancy 3 layer jacket? Congratulations, its only DWR on the shell, meaning its not a musky and sweaty jacket after treatment the 2 liners will now trap moisture.

This didn’t work for my shitty orvis coat. Thing was barely water proof to begin with then I used dwr and it’s just as shitty as before.
