i want to get an e-bike to get to the local mountains from my city which is about 25kms. i'll just use the motor for climbing major hills and pedal the majority of the way there. I'll want to get a trailer to bring things I'll need and wear a big backpack.

Is it possible to charge it with a solar power kit?

any suggestions/recommendations? Any models that are easier to repair than others?

Might build one from an existing bike and just get the parts.

Solar is possible, but you'd need an actual battery bank capable of a continuous 300-500w output. Depending on the size and type of battery on the ebike, you'll need a smaller(600-1000w) or bigger(2000w) battery bank. The solar panels you would need will depend on the bank. You're probably going to want panels that can deliver 200w minimum.

What are you planning to do? Why do you need all this stuff?

Depends on the situation. In case there’s a Great Depression type of event. Live out there for a few months or a week just to gather food. Ie: hunt/ fish then head back to the city. Set up a hidden storage so I don’t have to haul stuff around after my first trip. Would be the governments land not mine.

So larping basically
I'd just forget the trailer and bring some stuff for your hiding hole every weekend, it's just 25 km and I don't see how a bike trailer would be practical if you leave the road

Would need a cooler for fish so would need the trailer. Open to suggestions on better ways to do this.

if you arent already fishing and hunting this plan is stupid and you should just learn the normal way before you do something more stupid. if you are already doing those then you should just keep doing what youre currently doing

Nice - I'm looking to get one of those soon. (But the Poverty version, they're still damn expensive.)
Left picrel in plain site of the road intending to go straight back out and got sidetracked.
Next morning found someone decided they needed it more than me.
That was 3 weeks ago - I've given up hope of seeing it again.

conversion kits seem promising. You just turn an existing bike into an ebike. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RRN16nVmQz0

I'll be looking for the best torque for mine since I need it for climbing a road that goes up a mountain

the kits are the best. the are very easy to convert and you have lots of different options. i spent $1400 on a rad powerbike and there is nothing special about it. the big drawback to it is replacement parts or upgrades. most of the ebike companies use special wire connectors so you have to go back to them for replacements. a control box from rad powerbikes is $99 but you can get a generic one on Amazon for $30. its like that for everything on the bike too. the kit is best but i. would suggest to buy the battery seperate from the kit so you can get a bigger battery. i use a big battery for a electric 4 wheeler on my bike. also the front wheel kit is simpler than rear wheel. or you could do both front and back and have an awd bike

>best torque
every electric motor that has the wattage to push you up a hill will have enough torque. electric motors in general always have ridiculous torque
torque was made for combustion engines, they need to have enough force to spin around and do another revolution, if the wheels are bogged down enough (by gravity, air resistance or an actual bog) and cant do a revolution then the engine doesnt have enough force to do so. interestingly enough force and torque is measuring the same thing in different units. an electric motor doesnt need to rotate all the way around to put power down like an engine does, it just needs to keep getting the power from the battery and it will keep trying to spin even if itll break itself doing so
