Looking for places in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, or Idaho.I just graduated and am looking for some places to go backpacking for 3-7 days. Any local anons have recommendations?

Theres probably over a hundred quality 4 day backpacking trips to do in each those states. They vary widely in fitness and skill required. Be more specific.

I haven't been beyond those two areas in the Winds but I'm sure it's probably just as nice and without the people.Backpacking in Yellowstone can actually get you pretty remote, especially on the Eastern edge of the park as you get into the Absarokas, which are as remote as it gets in the lower 48, very dense grizzly territory though. I haven't been personally, the bears scare me. The Bechler area is also good though, not quite as remote, lots of cool waterfalls. Glacier is great for backpacking also, gets you away from most of the crowds there while still having the same spectacular scenery. In Grand Teton it's harder to escape the crowds since it's smaller and all day-hikeable, and the Teton Crest is extremely popular for backpacking especially since it's doable without a permit.Anyway, I prefer backpacking in canyons in southern Utah personally.

I imagine if OP was prepared for a more serious remote undertaking he wouldn't be asking on /out/ and instead looking at maps making up his own route.

>>2868216I dont know how i know this, but you cant read. Grand teton is on my list and is my favorite np. Yellowstone is crowded and requires far too much overhead and logistics management only to not be better than the other places i listed for backpacking
