This is as close as I've found this year. It's been a great year from the FB posts I've seen. I just haven't been out to where they are....car troubles..

i finally found one after all these years but now what will happen to the traditional spring morel thread fight about identifying morels and false morels because i went and posted them both
>>2869323Genuinely what could even be the problem with identification, so called 'false morels' look drastically different from true morchella. If you can't tell the difference between real and false morels then you simply should not trust yourself to eat anything you find in the woods.I have only found a handful of small morels yet this year, about a week ago. We're only just getting some moisture here finally so they should be better this weekend. Picrel is about half of what I got. They were tasty mixed into some dill orzo. Only found one that was decent sized and the rest were like this. Cute but hoping for a bigger find next time i'm out
