I have now tried this on some other photos, but the results weren't too great. This just happened to be the one in a million time where my edit actually worked. If I want to achieve this tonality more consistently, I'll just have to break down and either spend out the ass for a new monochrome sensor camera/bayer removal, or start shooting film. Digital conversions can only be taken so far.

Nice idea but too much space between the two men makes it unbalanced, this way the man in the middle is kind of in the shadows but way too close to the light.
The vertical lines also aren't vertical.
>>4461633
The quality's too low, the lights are all burned, the lit up building is a great distraction since it's the only one lit up, and the sky's an odd color to contrast with the buildings.
>>4461618
Same as above, the sky's burned, so the stark contrast between the top and bottom of the tree is made even more stark.
>>4461613
I like the vertical reflections on the water, but the center is tragically uninteresting, there's no pattern, no shape, no coherence anywhere, it's just very random.
>>4461610
This is better in that regard, even though the reflections aren't as interesting anymore due to how close they are to the real object.
>>4461609
This is much the same as the first but without even the interesting reflections.
>>4461520
The clean and simple shapes and textures of the bottom and top left are in stark contrast with the shape of the light being blocked by a cloud, so imo it's a bit messy; simply lowering microcontrast/clarity/structure where the sun gets blocked would likely improve things.
>>4461483
Nice, though the light is harsh so a couple spots are burned, and the overshirt's strong beige doesn't fit very much with the blue and green parts of the reflections.
>>4461464
>>4461447
These are both not as focused, the mannequin in blue isn't nicely framed by the scooter and the one in light beige is partially covered by someone completely unrelated.
Also the vertical lines aren't vertical, they're like poor attempts at making pictures look like street photography.
>>
>>4461422
The pier begins just above the level of the horizon, drawing a step.
The texture of the sea is continuous and fine enough, though the sky's full of unregular details, imo if you're looking to include something that complicated in a picture like this, the rest should be even more plain and simple, otherwise different but similar things (the sea and sky) having very different kinds of textures with very different levels of detail and frequency of details make the whole thing a lot less coherent.
Also, you should use (better/more) lens correction, there's a lot of green and purple fringing around the two people.
>>4461420
The crow's not nearly separated enough from the rest of the scene, it doesn't get lost in the vegetation but it also doesn't stand out as it would if it didn't cover part of the leaves and had light blue space all around it.
>>4461418
A bit plain, the plants in the foreground prevent it from looking """minimalist""" and the couple of white splashes, especially the one right below the horizon on the coastline, change up the water's general texture without adding anything interest, I'd remove them in post.
>>4461390
A bit small, but an improvement in the sense that it makes the sky completely uniform at least.
>>4461371
Everything looks oddly green, the leaves are nice but the fence and horse are just odd.
It's odd that what seems to be the subject isn't entirely in the frame.
I think this would be better if it was the picture of a beetle rather than a picture of a farm with a bit of this and also a bit of a beetle from a low perspective.
>>4461367
>>4461366
These are both worse than the squarer crops, the very bottom part might be removed to make everything in the frame seem in the distance, but cutting those clouds doesn't make anything better, it just removes details.
>>4461356
Shame about the girl who's in the middle but not exactly in the middle, and the legs of the structure are way too light compared to the rest.

real answer though posting pics here is a waste of time, people only do it because it's quick. If you wanna improve, read pic related and join a photo club around your area for constructive feedback

I don’t investigate this kind of unhelpful questions.
>Just post pics around and have people talk shit?
Listen to yourself as much as anyone else. What photos do you like? Answer that. Do you like your own photos? Why or why not? Answer that. What do you enjoy photographing? Answer that. Dialogue with yourself and be positive. No one can take your place in photography. You are valuable. Please keep contributing to the thread.

First clear night since getting my R8 and 16-35 f/4 IS. This was just a test in my backyard with fucktonnes of light pollution, and my first time using Sequator so I don't fully understand optimal settings for it.
But for 10 minutes of effort I'm super pleased.
