The shot is really great and i was wondering if there was a specific studio that makes these kinds of photos? I was thinking of Harcourt in Paris, but no online confirmation that Tyler was photographied there. Also which camera/gear can produce this kind of quality?

>>4466325It was shot with a Hasselblad X2D 100C, but you don't need a digital camera that expensive to appropriate the style.https://news.artnet.com/art-world/tyler-the-creator-chromakopia-luis-perez-2562254
>>4466325You don't need any special camera, you need studio lights and a masked nigger
>>4466330yeah, you probably would be able to get that with most MF cameras that are able to focus close
>>4466326The selective focus/blur is done in photoshop.
>>4466334I can't unsee it, that is definitely fake blur
>>4466335Yes. Impossible with camera movements. Interesting choice to add that chunk of sharp background to the in focus area. Maybe it makes for a more natural look than closely following his face.

>>4466336that chunk of background being focused is what made it stand out as fake thoughit's like one of those pictures that were made with portrait mode on phones
>>4466351It looks fake because it would be impossible to use camera movements to get an oval shaped focal plane that is only on his eyes like that.
>>4466356not even with a tilt-shift lens?
>>4466358Definitely not. You can only change the angle of the focal plane. You cant shorten it or change the overall shape. It will always carry through the entirety of the image. Perspective shift wouldn't achieve something like that either. Falloff is also too sharp. Here's an example of using shallow DoF with front standard swing on 8x10.
wtf is with the nigger alien
>>4466351The gradiation of focus falloff above and below the eyes on the mask is clearly not real too
>>4466351Is it a chunk of background or is it fake grain THOUGH?>>4466373You know what American culture is really about
