Holy hell those fuckers get greedy. This GX8 has its forward dial missing yet MPB says "it's ok, just buy it goy".

Private used market (classifieds, ebay) doesnt look much better. they want hundreds of Euros for essentially trash. all the Lumix GX9 around here are like 800 euros. WTF dudes. many times classifieds are even more expensive than MPB (where you get 12months of warranty lol)

and dont get me started on fuji prices lol. i'm not even looking anymore at those anymore.

fucking camera market I swear. you write the seller and ask them for a proper price and they block you because "only sincere offers" then you look and their shitty 10yo cam is still listed as unsold months later because who's going to spend 1k on a shitty 10yo m43 cam with a kit lens lol?

i hate boomers its unreal

I do appreciate the fact they provide photos of every item, thoughever. That shows just a little integrity.
>>
>>4469313
but they don't shoot everything correctly. I had to return two cams already that had scratches on the EVF. you couldnt see that from the photos and it wasnt mentioned anywhere. it weren't even the cheapest ones.
the replacement process worked flawlessly but it took time. you have to send in teh cam first, then they check, then they contact you and you can tell them which one you want as replacement, then you might have to pay the difference and then they send it out. this can take 2 weeks. which really sucks when you just wanted to enjoy your new camera. being an impulsive nigger sucks, I guess but thats what I am.

>I had to return two cams already that had scratches on the EVF.

This is why I want to buy new for my next camera. There's too much carelessness in the used market besides the fact I can never know for sure the last owner didn't drop the camera or use it in a rough way. Yeah, it's more expensive but you get a virgin product.
>>
>>4469316
yup, my primary cam is always bought new. used is for toys and experiments that get sold afterwards. otherwise you would spend too much money and start hoarding e-waste.
>>
Is it because new camera prices are heavily inflated that sellers of used cameras are following the trend, also making an excuse with higher import taxes even when these used cameras aren't even affected in the first place? Both new and used camera market prices are inflated for sure.
>>

What is wrong is that there is little to no innovation or room for improvements when it comes to camera technology causing older models to be perfectly adequate for most purposes and thus still a good deal when compared to new camera prices. Even Canon just now announced that they will be re-releasing a point n shoot from 2016 that is incredibly enough gimped compared to the older version. Then you have the Panasonic/Leica point n shoots that are essentially the same where they are even more criminally overpriced. In the case of micro four thirds they have pretty much killed off all the compacts causing new cameras to be way bigger etc making them close to pointless compared to APS-C for instance.. if you want something small you have to buy used. New full frame cameras are often gimped in one way or another compared to the previous models etc. Of course the manufacturers also know that it does not look good when they charge usurious prices for what is old technology, but at this point they have no other choice.

New camera prices aren't really inflated
Prices have actually been pretty stagnant for most of the last two decades, and if anything, often cheaper I'd you account for inflation
If you think prices are expensive, you'd think prices have always been expensive

evf doesnt affect final image though??? it seems like your screeching about mundane shit
>>
>>4469311
Only stupid people want pseudo compacts so you get stupid prices
>cant pocket
>BUD ID LOOKS LIKE LEICA
>>
>>4469368
normies fucking love psuedo compacts though especially if theyre for video. that's why youtubers make videos inflating the fuck out of 10 year old m43 cameras and sony sells so many apsc/ff cameras and you need to pay at least $800 for a 1in sensor size compact like a canon g7x or a sony rx100.

general guideline is if /p/ hates it normies love it. not necessarily whether its good or bad, just /p/ doesnt follow the trends. normies think lumixes are good cameras example

the best cameras to buy imo are 10 y/o FF DSLRs since theyre at the very bottom of their depreciation curve and the lenses are cheap/common from sellers dumping for mirrorless. a lot of their sensors arent dramatically better than current mirrorless too

It's not that you are bringing up a new argument.
> You cannot put an ILC the pocket
> Therefore you must wear a blob of plastic and glass over your neck all day
>>
>>4469382
>oh nooo i cant use that camera its not effay enough for a femboy like me. it needs to be cute and remind me of leicas.
>>
>>4469383
Consumer economy. I will indeed pose arbitrary requirements to the gear I buy and manufacturers will have to comply.
>>
>>4469390
Yeah how's that working out for you mate?
I can't say I've seen a retard form a parasocial relationship with a camera manufacturer before. This is a new frontier. Retardus Adeptus.

Its not that the blobmera is big

It’s that you’re small and feminine, and holding anything remotely masculine looks wrong for you. Even "huge blobs" like the R1 are actually sleek and compact in a man’s hands.

>blob the size of your face

Choose one you tard.

Never once felt the urge to buy on Calumet, MPB or the small store here in the city.
Those prices are insane. Their selling point is the warranty and knowing that they won't steal your money.
Feels gud seeing them selling the older Fuji X100s for the peak hype price still because they bought them overpriced themselves. Sit on it fags.

Just wait Anon.
Good stuff comes up from time to time.

Just thought about the Panasonic LX100 II. A camera that came out in mid 2018.. a compact micro four thirds with a fixed zoom lens costing $1000 new back then, still selling for not that much less now, a camera that Leica rebranded and sold for $200 extra a couple of months later which they a year ago updated with Leica menus and button layout, upped the evf and screen resolution a tiny bit and added a USB-C port which they now charge $1915 for.. it did at one point cost $2790 when Leica tried cashing in on the tariff speculations. Before the latest digicam craze you could find used LX100 IIs for way less than the current going rate.. so yeah.. the market in general is a bit messed up at the moment. I snagged a LX100 II for roughly $300 in the local classifieds recently and it feels like a steal, but it isn't really. It is a camera with lots of compromises and a Leica D-Lux 8 for $1915 is a massive waste of money.
