Holy hell those fuckers get greedy. This GX8 has its forward dial missing yet MPB says "it's ok, just buy it goy".Private used market (classifieds, ebay) doesnt look much better. they want hundreds of Euros for essentially trash. all the Lumix GX9 around here are like 800 euros. WTF dudes. many times classifieds are even more expensive than MPB (where you get 12months of warranty lol)and dont get me started on fuji prices lol. i'm not even looking anymore at those anymore.fucking camera market I swear. you write the seller and ask them for a proper price and they block you because "only sincere offers" then you look and their shitty 10yo cam is still listed as unsold months later because who's going to spend 1k on a shitty 10yo m43 cam with a kit lens lol?i hate boomers its unreal
>>4469311here's the "it's totally fine" dial
>>4469311I do appreciate the fact they provide photos of every item, thoughever. That shows just a little integrity.
>>4469313but they don't shoot everything correctly. I had to return two cams already that had scratches on the EVF. you couldnt see that from the photos and it wasnt mentioned anywhere. it weren't even the cheapest ones.the replacement process worked flawlessly but it took time. you have to send in teh cam first, then they check, then they contact you and you can tell them which one you want as replacement, then you might have to pay the difference and then they send it out. this can take 2 weeks. which really sucks when you just wanted to enjoy your new camera. being an impulsive nigger sucks, I guess but thats what I am.
>>4469314>I had to return two cams already that had scratches on the EVF.>You couldn't see that from the photos and it wasn't mentioned anywhere. This is why I want to buy new for my next camera. There's too much carelessness in the used market besides the fact I can never know for sure the last owner didn't drop the camera or use it in a rough way. Yeah, it's more expensive but you get a virgin product.
>>4469316yup, my primary cam is always bought new. used is for toys and experiments that get sold afterwards. otherwise you would spend too much money and start hoarding e-waste.
Is it because new camera prices are heavily inflated that sellers of used cameras are following the trend, also making an excuse with higher import taxes even when these used cameras aren't even affected in the first place? Both new and used camera market prices are inflated for sure.
>>4469311What is wrong is that there is little to no innovation or room for improvements when it comes to camera technology causing older models to be perfectly adequate for most purposes and thus still a good deal when compared to new camera prices. Even Canon just now announced that they will be re-releasing a point n shoot from 2016 that is incredibly enough gimped compared to the older version. Then you have the Panasonic/Leica point n shoots that are essentially the same where they are even more criminally overpriced. In the case of micro four thirds they have pretty much killed off all the compacts causing new cameras to be way bigger etc making them close to pointless compared to APS-C for instance.. if you want something small you have to buy used. New full frame cameras are often gimped in one way or another compared to the previous models etc. Of course the manufacturers also know that it does not look good when they charge usurious prices for what is old technology, but at this point they have no other choice.
>>4469319New camera prices aren't really inflatedPrices have actually been pretty stagnant for most of the last two decades, and if anything, often cheaper I'd you account for inflation If you think prices are expensive, you'd think prices have always been expensive
Is this an ad?
>>4469311that seems reasonable
>>4469312that still seems reasonable>>4469316evf doesnt affect final image though??? it seems like your screeching about mundane shit
>>4469311Only stupid people want pseudo compacts so you get stupid prices>cant pocket>BUD ID LOOKS LIKE LEICA
>>4469368normies fucking love psuedo compacts though especially if theyre for video. that's why youtubers make videos inflating the fuck out of 10 year old m43 cameras and sony sells so many apsc/ff cameras and you need to pay at least $800 for a 1in sensor size compact like a canon g7x or a sony rx100. general guideline is if /p/ hates it normies love it. not necessarily whether its good or bad, just /p/ doesnt follow the trends. normies think lumixes are good cameras examplethe best cameras to buy imo are 10 y/o FF DSLRs since theyre at the very bottom of their depreciation curve and the lenses are cheap/common from sellers dumping for mirrorless. a lot of their sensors arent dramatically better than current mirrorless too
>>4469368It's not that you are bringing up a new argument.> You cannot put an ILC the pocket> Therefore you must wear a blob of plastic and glass over your neck all day
>>4469382>oh nooo i cant use that camera its not effay enough for a femboy like me. it needs to be cute and remind me of leicas.
>>4469383Consumer economy. I will indeed pose arbitrary requirements to the gear I buy and manufacturers will have to comply.
>>4469390Yeah how's that working out for you mate?I can't say I've seen a retard form a parasocial relationship with a camera manufacturer before. This is a new frontier. Retardus Adeptus.
>>4469383>obese
>>4469406Its not that the blobmera is bigIt’s that you’re small and feminine, and holding anything remotely masculine looks wrong for you. Even "huge blobs" like the R1 are actually sleek and compact in a man’s hands.
>>4469419>blob the size of your face>sleek and compactChoose one you tard.
>>4469311>boomers are responsible for used camera sales price extortion not zoomers and millenials that are happy buying cameras for more than they are worthlol
>>4469311Cosmetic condition: goodon mpb literally means it’s fucked
>>4469426pentax 67
>>4469439>I'll take the blob as big as6 face over a sleek and compact cameraI accept your concession.
>>4469311Never once felt the urge to buy on Calumet, MPB or the small store here in the city. Those prices are insane. Their selling point is the warranty and knowing that they won't steal your money. Feels gud seeing them selling the older Fuji X100s for the peak hype price still because they bought them overpriced themselves. Sit on it fags.Just wait Anon. Good stuff comes up from time to time.
>>4469311>who's going to spend 1k on a shitty 10yo m43 cam with a kit lens lol?Just thought about the Panasonic LX100 II. A camera that came out in mid 2018.. a compact micro four thirds with a fixed zoom lens costing $1000 new back then, still selling for not that much less now, a camera that Leica rebranded and sold for $200 extra a couple of months later which they a year ago updated with Leica menus and button layout, upped the evf and screen resolution a tiny bit and added a USB-C port which they now charge $1915 for.. it did at one point cost $2790 when Leica tried cashing in on the tariff speculations. Before the latest digicam craze you could find used LX100 IIs for way less than the current going rate.. so yeah.. the market in general is a bit messed up at the moment. I snagged a LX100 II for roughly $300 in the local classifieds recently and it feels like a steal, but it isn't really. It is a camera with lots of compromises and a Leica D-Lux 8 for $1915 is a massive waste of money.
>>4469361>evf doesnt affect final image though??? it seems like your screeching about mundane shitshooting experience and comfort matterthat's half the reason why we use cams instead of phones
>>4472268No the entire reason is the final imageI’m not a fujibrained self appreciator like you sis
>>4469503> MPB are scalpersKek, that's not impossible, given how they have recent models in "like new" condition
Foto Erdhart FTW. New Nikon ZF + 50mm 1.8 S + Sandisk UHSII 2300 euris.
>>4472272It's just a couple bucks more to not have to deal with jeet tier bad engineering decisions, the people insensitive to this usually aren't good at making photographs either since they lack a sense for aesthetics in general.
>>4469428>the ones setting prices deserve less blame than the ones they rip off*rubs hands*
I'm having a sore experience with just buying from people off a platform widely used in my cunt. If you're not patient I guess places like MPB are the only option. I've been trying to buy a camera for 2 fucking weeks now because people can't bother to respond to a message. I remember being excited about finding someone to buy my used stuff but the moment I do it it's like nobody's home. Not even to scam me. I'm not worth even scamming. Fuck this shit.
Hah.I recently sold my old superzoom lens.I listed it's condition as "good", because it had some scratches on the plastic, especially on the lens hood. The dude who bought it told me I should have listed it as perfect/brand new, because compared to what he usually has to deal with buying used gear in "good" condition, mine was actually perfect.
>>4472307The moment you say anything racist your chances of being any sort of artist drop to zero. There are absolutely no right wing artists. None. Not for a lack of trying. But because if you are right wing, you can not be creative in a meaningful fashion. The right wing brain is stunted and inferior. Accountant-like. Mechanical. Your superiors are entirely ashkenazi jews and american chinese who vote blue. Your CEOs are liberal. The leaders in R&D are liberal. Intelligent people are liberal. Intelligent people are never conservative. Intelligent people are never racist. Intelligent people are never anti-immigration. Intelligent people are never pro-gun. Because such beliefs are patently nonsensical and objectively wrong. Now when I look at nazis, I see conspiracy theories about EVFs faking the earth's curvature, and DSLRs owning the glowies. And when I look at creative people, who are, and always have been, 100% liberal, I see a bunch of fuji mirrorless. Now, you were saying what about aesthetics?By aesthetics you meant 3000 year old naked man statues correct? Because you're not capable of being creative. You're only capable of having nostalgia and being afraid of new ideas.Right wing people are not intelligent. Right wing people are not successful. It's loser ideology. This is a well proven fact of science.

>>4469311MPB went to shit as soon as they went international.
>>4469428Anon, we know exactly who are buying Nikon D3200's in 2025 for RRP, and it's not zoomers.
>>4469351>causing older models to be perfectly adequate for most purposes and thus still a good deal when compared to new camera pricesYes, true. Buuuut, this strategy is only useful to you if you're buying the camera to use. If you're buying a camera because you want others to see you with the camera or see that you're the kind of person that might take trendy photos, this strategy does not work. As an example, the obvious price per performance choice for a used camera right now is a 5D mark ii. They're good, they're cheap, they have access to relatively cheap lenses, a few film era mounts can be adapted to them, they do decent video if you put magic lantern on them, and they're durable. The problem is they're really ugly. Even though they're built well, they don't look expensive, to a layperson they just look like any other D/SLR they might have had in the art room in high school. It just made to fit your hand and nothing else. So, if you want a camera as a fashion accessory you have to get something that looks cool, which are more expensive, see OP's desired camera as an example.
>>4469480>noooo everyone has to see how stylish I am with my camera, they need to see me taking photos, thats the whole pointYour concession is that you put the appearance of the camera before its performance.>an ergonomic tool>a performative toyPick one.

>>4469311You Schizo's did it. Used Sony and Fuji gear is finally beginning to come down in price. New Fuji cameras are finally back in stock at major retailers. Thank you schizo anons. Keep preaching the word. Snoy is green! Fuji is a meme!
I bought an X-T2 in 2021 for way, WAY less than the cheapest option available many years later.
