Are there anons here who are not really photography ppl but still into film developing because the aspect of developing your film urself is fun?

I always have this issue where I don't feel an urge to take photos, as I don't have much of a creative bone, but I feel a lot of desire to make my own prints and develop film.

people are into film because it's currently a meme

I was in line at CVS and a torture of zoomers came in and asked if they develop film and the person at the counter was like wtf no it's not 1995

Not really, I hold off on developing because it's messy, time consuming, and at times complicated. Sometimes I wish my film cameras shot digital or instant, I only like using them because you get the same thrill as driving a manual. It's also a dog whistle for making friends with other autistic photographers

Try studio work with large format film. It can really get your creativity going.
My other advice for creativity is to envision your final print and work your exposure and development to attain what you have envisioned. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do with both exposure and development that will help you attain the print you want and if you do everything right it will be super easy to make your print come out great.

Also you gotta make prints. Just do it.

I’m with you anon I get it. Ever since I first stepped into a darkroom back in high school photo lab 20 years ago I’ve loved the process ever since. But I have zero creative vision for shit and I struggle to finish a roll. But at the same time I wouldn’t like to do it for other people too much expectation with that. So it’s an interest that’s stuck in a weird limbo, almost like if you liked how fat girl pussy felt but you hated fat chicks or something.

Shoot large format film and develop 4 or 6 4x5 sheets at a time depending on what developing tank thing you got. Quality over quantity.

The thing is I have no way to scan or to enlarge them

i don't really care for photography but like the idea of it as a way to remember or save memories
not once have i reminisced over photos taken with the phone so i bought a film camera, dev stuff, and a scanner some years back
found that not having the "instant feedback" of digital photography and actually taking the time to develop, scan, and print the shots lets me enjoy them more
supposedly could get away with printing from a digital camera too but i just dont care for it. literally exactly the same as a phone, hundreds of photos to transfer and scroll through

Make contact prints. No excuses
