What lightning set up and editing achieved this look? Iām somewhat new to photography. I got a great camera canon R5ii and the 35mm 1.8 lens. Iād like to learn from you guys how I could tweak my photos in studio to resemble this. Photoshop? Dodge and burn?
>>4473313Medium sized octobox or umbrella top right, grid for backdrop, probably a relfector bottom center to reduce under chin shadow, and possibly one far left to reduce total contrast. Shouldn't need any dodging or burning. Getting that film look will be tough for your digital. Good luck, champ.
>>4473316Thanks. I actually prefer the digital look.
>>4473313On second thought If you're using digital you may be able to get away with a single softbox top right, feathered, actually. Previous setup would be needed for film. It looks like there was some lightening around his face. If you look you'll see where the background is brighter on his profile.
>>4473313Well first you need Oscar Isaac. Then you need some soft lighting from the top right of your shot and maybe a reflector in the bottom left to reduce shadow. You would also need a longer focal length than 35mm to do a tight portrait without much facial distortion. The most important thing is having Oscar Isaac though.
>>4473313Looks like ai slop
>>4473497Good analysis of the light setup, thanks anon.>>4473501Get your eyes checked.
