I don't take photos at night (my camera is terrible at high ISO setting)
>>4473874>what is a tripod
>>4473877>tripod>noun> 1.>a three-legged stand for supporting a camera or other apparatus.
>>4473911You use the tripod with long shutter speeds, like 30 seconds in some cases. It’s a motherfucker to focus in darkness though.
>>4477606I just point at some random light on my touchscreen and let AF do the rest.

Bros, this thread cured my gearfaggotryI was reading /p/ and lamenting that I didn't get a full frame with a super expensive lens because I like night photography, then I check this thread and it's kinoBecause emotion is what matters mostAlso why do my night time shots look so orange, is that due to the streetlights?
>>4479220Auto WB probably. Nighttime wb is so blue it's likely overcompensating or some shit.
I was testing out these balls and just a week after taking this picture I return to find that they took down this fucking bench, I'm not taking pictures like these again because I fear what may happen to the subject
5pm = night here
>>4479330love twilight shots where you get that dark blue sky and orange light>>4479299What is story behind that tower? It is beautiful and weird as an American to see this ornately carved and gilded monument. Thanks for the high res upload and no low luminance NR because I enjoyed looking at the details.
>>4479349You are welcome Anon, it's from the Nuremberg main markethttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sch%C3%B6ner_Brunnen

How can I take good night shots if my only camera is a TG-6 that doesn't have manual?
>>4479415Have a gorillapod or something, RTFM, put it in night scene mode / crank up the ISO / whatever manual tells you, use self-timer and hope for the best. Or do like I do with my AW100 and just keep snapping until you get an interesting smudge like >>4479743 and call it art.
Gagarin airport, located about 30km away from where Yuri Gagarin landed after the first human spaceflight. Kinda cool that even with all these lights the stars are still visible, because of how little light pollution the surrounding areas have.
Not bad for a small provincial airport.
En route to Saratov via bus, the lights outside belong to either Saratov or Engels, not sure.

Everything I do is random
>>4481386I sometimes wondered what the opposite of a snapshot would be. I find it must include the set, setting and an idea in mind which then is executed. Consequently street can only be snapped, since it is about documenting the environment. Landscape is a classic for a composed shot. As is architecture. What about nature though? I can hardly know when the birdie will sit next to my location, or even a model shoot. This involves a dynamic between model and photographer that can hardly be fully anticipated.
>>4473945This is such an insanely good picture
>>4473945>>4478719What camera and lens?
>>4477889>>4477955Only this one could be called Lynchian, it’s very reminiscent of Inland Empire. The rest are just “noir” and there’s really nothing “Lynchian” about them in particular unless David Lynch invented moody night time photography. Do you need me to tell you he didn’t?
>>4481539Thanks, though I don't consider it particularly great, I liked the scene well enough to take it. Fits the idea of the thread.>>4481540The first one is canon r7 + sugma 23 1.4

Had a snail on my window.
Enjoy my backyard night sky android phone photo
iso 4000 at around 1/15 and then like +2ev in post. Noiser than I'd like.
>>4483898Not bad all things considered. What aperture though? Those sunstars make me suspect you had it pretty narrow.
>>4483939Singapore?
>>4483962Hong Kong
>>4483943thanks, I was at f2.8 or f/4 on a Konica 40mm 1.8 pancake lens. It's a great lens but it's a little too soft wide open for what I was shooting.
>>4483939this is great but would be better without the scanner dust IMO
>>4484002Love that
>>4484028yeah these negatives were filthy I think I dropped these on the bathroom floor I should give them a wash
nice pictures everyone
>>4484189+ developed raw
posted them in another thread but i'll post them here too
Dat feel when I enjoy taking pictures of artificial light in the night, but live in the middle of nowhere and the only thing available is a few lampposts and a grocery store.
>>4473841>>4480828This is a serious question. What is it about gas stations/convenience stores that looks so cool at night? Is it color temperature of the inside vs the outside?
>>4484218It's what they call the "gasser allure".Basically they take us back to a golden era that's mostly gone now thanks to EVcucks and zoomer behavior.
>>4484218good light. they are open later than most other businesses and usually very brightly lit. often bright enough to shoot handheld and they'll be the only thing you can shoot at night in a lot of neighborhoods.
>>4481540iirc the blossoms pic was on bessa r2m with voigtlander 35mm nokton classic. film probably expired kodak max
Rollercoasters are a great medium
