I've been a photography enthusiast ever since I met my girlfriend of 4~ years. I shoot with her all the time and even have gotten her into and excited about the craft. Her and I regularly go on walks, and a couple nights ago and she said something that kind of shot out of left field. We were contemplating what trail we were going to hike (my neighborhood backs up to a large recreational/forest area with many choices) and we had decided upon one and to end the conversation she says, "And maybe you don't bring the big camera this time?" and we both laughed, with my laughter just coming from confusion and a little bit of shock for such a request. I cannot for the life of me figure out why she asked this. I seldom ever shoot with a tripod when going on casual walks with her and it never gets in the way of us having a good time, I take a few pictures every walk and throw it over my shoulder and keep going. I don't let my hobby ever get in the way of our time together. If anything she's asking to shoot with me more often.

That's why for the life of me I can't understand why she asked me to leave the rb67 at home. She loves shooting with me and is always asking questions to learn more about photography and film. I'm really not trying to sperg out about this, I guess im just trying to figure it out from a girl's pov. I can't help but think the reason she asked is purely aesthetic/visual, as if me hauling it around is unattractive or something. Is carrying this camera around on a semi-regular basis that strange or unfashionable? I really don't think its big enough of an issue to explicitly request I don't use it which is why im so confused.

The real answer is to buy a larger camera. Gx680 or a 4x5 camera. Start taking that out consistently and then the rb67 will become the small camera all while asserting your dominance as the man in the relationship. It's really simple.

You probably don’t think so, don’t realize, or it might not even be the case, but I’m guessing she thinks, being the irrational woman that she is, that you spend way too much time fiddling with the camera, and not enough time paying attention to her. So I believe it’s nothing to do with the specific camera more so that she doesn’t want you sperging out with it while you spend time with her. Women are weird like that. They won’t just tell you what they want. Even if she normally seems totally cool with it, and says she likes it, and says she thinks it’s fun or whatever, it could all be bullshit just to keep you happy. And this one time she just wants to do without it. Or maybe you’re right and she just doesn’t like how it looks. There really is no way to read the mind of a woman because they’re childlike nonsensical creatures. Your choice now is either do what she wants and keep her happy, and potentially open the door to her continuing to try to control what you do, or just do your thing and make her unhappy and she will seethe about it for the rest of your relationship, even if she says it’s fine and she’s totally cool with it.

I chose the path of least resistance and left it behind for the past couple outings. I love her and if it seriously makes her feel better then so be it. I just worry her interest in my passions were all superficial and deep down she loathes the hobby that makes up such a big part of my leisure time. Unfortunately this reminds me of a previous relationship in college where my girlfriend would throw a conniption fit every time I'd start up my xbox.

Sorry man but medium format boxes other than bronica and hasselblad give girls the ick especially when used for “compositions” of cars and fences and corners

You have to get a 500cm and 150/4 macro and mostly take pictures of her. Sorry!
>>
>>4476916
>i’ve been thinking (I’m sorry)
>that camera really is big and ugly, it’s kind of distracting (you were right)
>i sold it and bought a smaller one
>hasselblad.

i truly cannot understand the normie mind which can be in a relationship yet is so hopelessly inept at communicating. how about instead of having internet strangers try to read your gf's mind you just ask >why?
hope this helps

Maybe ask her about it instead of us.

You sound like interested in Leica.
why don't you look up Leica Q3? Or if you can bare with Manual focus of cause M11 as well.
If your budget runs short, Q2 works very well as well for the photographers like you.

Your girl is not professional model.
And even the pro models get ick and uncomfortable sometimes by a huge camera front of them. Especially when they're not in a studio or in a very professional environment.

Remember, design is a performance as well.

And of cause you can still be an autist with a small camera by modding it. pic rel.

The faggots who only shots street lamps and trees don't know that the subject, the model also looking at the camera not only they looking at the person.
Consider design of cameras as fashion.

>Gym clothes in a gym
Ok
>Suit in an office
Ok
>Gym clothes in an office
Not appropriate

Of cause you can do an executive meeting with in gym clothes.
And if there occurs some labor-ful tasks(50fps burst shooting, 8k video recoding, using 300mm f2.8 lens) you'll be excellent than those showy suit fags who think cameras only fashion items.

If a bump gets created between you and the subject just because of look of the camera you use. You need to think about it.

I just use a sony a7c and 35mm f2.8. Leica is for homosexuals and gearfags.

>just ask
The true sign of lacking life experience is seriously expecting a woman to give a straight rational answer to something that amounts to “vibes”.

Goblina fucked the white balance constantly for both cameras in that video

I’m surprised companies send her anything. She made the lumix s9 look piss yellow and blown out in a bunch of takes.
>>

oh, so life experience is when you somehow end up with a gf for four years you can't even speak plainly with about such trifles as what to bring on a hike. how do you expect to tackle something like building a life with a partner like that? i'll gladly keep to myself if i can avoid that kind of 'life experience'. and if i venture out of my cave, i'll stick to grown women who can know how to use their words

nah that's just how sony shoots. Perma Cinestill 800T but without the cool halation
>>
>>4477199
yes thats why one out of two full frame mirrorless is a sony. they’re so horrible everyone buys them. panasonic is clearly the best.
>>
Yet again, Sony Shills ruined a thread.
>>
>>4477208
People buy them for the same reason they buy Kias, because they're cheap.
>>
>>4477235
>stop recommending sony you’re making me ruin threads
lmao

>>4477241
But they’re expensive lmao
>>
>>4477243
>But they’re expensive lmao
They're not, almost always the cheapest in their respective segments.
>>
>>4477254
The zf and z5ii cost less than the a7iv and a7cii, each brands best selling bodies. Hmmm yeah nah.
>>
>>4477254
>>4477241
No retard. Nikon is the cheapest brand to get into. The z7ii is newer but used ones are already slowly closing in on the used price of an a7rIII that has equally bad autofocus, shit for weather sealing, worse ibis, and can’t shoot jpeg. Nikon’s f1.8 S primes perform to GM standards but are priced like sony G lenses. Canon and Sony don’t get as good at nikon until the kit is more expensive overall.

I have no idea why but sony is excellent at being expensive even when they’re only average at everything else and a bit worse than canon. How is an a9ii more expensive than the superior r6ii? Like wtf lmao

She just wanted you to enjoy the hike anon. Why not consider something smaller, like a Rolleiflex?
>>
>>4477259
>used ones
Irrelevant when comparing what's available brand new.
>How is an a9ii more expensive than the superior r6ii?
R6 line is near entry level full frame. a9 ii is near flagship.
>>
>>4477258
>each brands best selling bodies
Not comparable. Those Nikons don't have enough reach. More comparable to the a7III if anything.
>>
>>4477319
You talk quite often about reach, can we see some of your images that need a lot of reach?
>>
>>4477323
You're comparing a 24MP camera with a 33MP camera and pretending they're equal. That's more than the difference between a 5D3 and a 5D4, which people happily paid for in order to get more MP.
>>
>>4477329
I haven't brought up any cameras, just that one comment
Sorry to hear you don't have a camera or take any pictures ever
>>
>>4477329
24mp and 33mp is a meaningless difference. Literal nit picking.
>i think i see an extra flea on this cat! Maybe! I need a sharper lens!
>-soulless gearfaggots incapable of producing art (aka you)
You are not a human being
You are a defective logical language learning model
>>
>>4477315
ChatGPT tier response. You are an actual NPC. You have no comprehension of what things are and how they relate to reality. You have scripted triggers and are a glorified autocomplete algorithm.

Or maybe you’re not a photographer and dont know shit about cameras let alone using them but your severe autism and tiny penis compel you to pretend?
>>
>>4477335
I'm sorry that you heard that too, have you tried not skipping your meds?
>>
>>4476906
Normal people find photographers annoying because they stop so often to take photos and are always on the hunt for new images which also breaks the flow of conversation and the other person get the impression that you are more concerned about photos than them.

I would suggest you to go alone for "serious" photography. For walk with her buy a Nikon F3 as something "aesthetic" and call it a day.
>>
>>4477349
>>4477350
The difference isn't meaningless to people shelling out extra bucks to get 33MP so that should be enough reason to not pretend they're basically the same cameras but cheaper. a7III is like $1400 in Best Buy vs the 2k asked for the Zf. a7c is $1600 vs $1700 for the z5 ii. Stop comparing apples to oranges.
