Three sciences about light that'll help you understand: The science of photons, electromagnetic radiation, and bosons

Two technical concepts that'll help you understand how your camera works: How computers work, how chemistry works, and how the mechanics work in a camera. (Anon here like what the fuck computers? Yes anon your digital camera is a damn computer like a smartphone is a damn computer. Hell even in some cases a calculator can be a computer. And the next what the fuck statement is about film photography which is indeed chemistry.)

Last thing is knowing how all the programming and placement of the camera functionality is in your camera. Such as knowing what the hell C4k is in a Panasonic GH5 for example.

You do all this you would know your camera like a mechanic knows a car. Congratulations you are a step ahead in being a photographer or cinematographer.

The most important part about all of this is the hardest part which is does it make sense to you like any other art form?
>>
>>4477834
Are mechanics really the best race car drivers?
>>
>>4477836
Bottom line is: A camera is a device that shoots an image because electrons exist in our universe.
>>
>>4477837
How do I make better art with that knowledge?
>>
>>4477834
You don't need to know that much, you need to know how to operate it and you need to RTFM so that you don't sell it looking for some functionality that was there all the time. And you need to learn how to expose properly if you're going to shoot in manual so that you don't use stupid settings like a fujislug and then complain the photos suck. Certain knowledge of the internals helps but most doesn't at all. Know the native (analog) ISOs and things like that if they matter for the particular camera, know what defaults you need to change in the custom settings, then set and forget.
>>
>>4477839
You understand concepts like why a camera that claims to be 15 stops of dynamic range turns out to be 10, finding out it was not the sensor that caused that but the limitations of the internal processor for example. You discover why the ugliness of your camera's digital noise exists, which is due to the lack of information from the pick up of light statically on your camera sensor; that static behavior is different from a chemical adjustment done on film for sensitivity, which is the difference between digital ISO and film ASA.
>>
>>4477907
But why would that help me make art better?
>>
>>4477912
Cleaner, clearer, unstressful images.
>>
>>4477916
How does edge to edge sharpness help me create art tho?
>>
>>4477939
Your art won't look like an overly underexposed blurry mess. Are you asking rhetorical questions to get a rise out of me?!
>>
>>4477942
No. Im wondering how bosons, electromagnetic radiation, and the science of photons will help my art. Cameras are pretty easy to use for the most part.
>>
>>4477944
All the greatest photographers had an intuitive understanding of bosons. I carry a cheat sheet with Feynman diagrams whenever I want to create art.
>>
>>4477972
But why tho? Im very familiar with color stretching and its ramifications on the artistic process, but I still do not see the connection bosons and the feynmann diagrams you speak of.
>>
>>4477974
The color stretching makes the knot hurt less. Snoy 101.
>>
>>4477974
You do not see because you are willfully blind. The power of seeing is what makes photography art and this is a power that cannot be taught.
>>
>>4477836
fpbp and absolutely REKT
>>
>>4477974
Trust me, having a fundamental understanding of light helps you better use it as a tool.
>>
>>4478076
Can you show me how the bosons have improved your art with an example?
>>
>>4478077
My art is still mediocore anon. But just to allow you to have your s*yjak humor, here is my imgur page: https://imgur.com/user/Zack194/posts
>>
>>4478087
Why is your imgur spelled zack? I know zacharys and they would NEVER EVER misspell their name like that, faggot.
>>
>>4478087
The problem is, Zach, that it would be a lot easier to take advice from you if you had photos worthy of envy.

If you dig deep enough you'll find a few decent images

Bait thread. Fake zach.
>>

You're right I spoke too soon.
The sultry yellows, the organic grain, the perfectly clipped highlights, the basically centred subject.
I kneel.

Some fag found this guys imgur and is using it to bait and troll.

Mediocre but they have SOVL as only one who has studied the science of Bosons can portray.
>>
>>4478136
That is true they do have soul
>>
>>4480034
Zach got a trip, he's doomed.
>>
>>4480047
And this nigga paid for a pass too damn
>>
Bottom line is, light is em radiation and an example is your phone getting a signal. How we see is the force of this em radiation. How a photo is made is this force gets recorded from its impact like a stamp. Why this is possible is that electrons exist in the universe. Why electrons, they contain energy. Why energy can do this like light, E=MC squared.
>>
>>4480049
>>4480047
It's fake zach.
>>
>>4480094
Yeah well you can still get some good info from this Zach.
>>
>>4480095
If you think regurgitated nothings are good then yes, fake zach, you are providing good info. Just like the people that regurgitate cameras stats in the gear threads are providing good info.
>>
>>4480095
Oh. You're actually a massive retard for trying to mimic Zach. Nothing you say has any value any more.
>>
>>4477834
Yeah but a cameras got nothing on a tray of oil paints. I can take the best photographs I’ve ever shot and no one will buy them. I can take the worst photos I’ve ever shot, trace them and paint them, and people will buy them and hang them on their walls. In learning how a camera works, you’re really just learning how a tool used in the production of a painting works. A photographer who shoots images but never takes those images to the painting stage is just, oh my gods a photographer is just a failed painter. Oh shit I just destroyed myself.
>>
>>4480102
Nothing the first zach ever said was worth the time it took to write it in the first place. As zach posts seemed to get dumber and dumber, some zachs started improving the posts and now we have a wide range of zach posts from the truly retarded autist posts to witty shitheel posts to high quality informative posts. No actual Zach required, we are all Zach now.
>>
>>4480107
That isn't true Zach. If you name movies that make the most money, always the ones that are photographed as opposed to animated, always make the most money. People love seeing people not abstract representations.
>>
>>4480096
Try researching the science of photography starting with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_chloride and you'll get how it is made eventually. Shit some people have been able to do this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WKwSdiP-dmQ
>>
>>4480312
I have already taught myself how to do wet plate colloidion, salt prints, albumen prints, a type of platinum palladium printing, and silver gelatine printing, both enlargement and contact printed with silver chloride paper.

The knowledge of how these processes work does not help me create art. The understanding of how the prints come out has. This understanding has been gained through experience working with the different processes and cannot be replace by simply reading about them or understanding the chemistry behind them.
>>
>>4480314
I already got a grasp on the science, so it is too late on that. The light is quantumly just there moving differently through space and time, and the camera just exposes itself to it to make an image. Anyway, now I really won't be frustrated anymore when my camera doesn't match my eye.
>>
>>4480316
Based time waster.
>>
>>4480308
That's a good point, Zach. I hadn't thought of that.

Porn too. CG has been used to make porn for 30 years already and none of it was fappable & had no value beyond shock value. and now Ai can make photorealistic representations of Emma Watson fuckinng a horse but even though it looks realistic since we know it's a cartoon, and just can't fap to it, it all just gets posted for lulz and meh
>>
>>4477834
more like learn full manual mode and dont go back
literally all you need
>>
>>4480356
people tell you to learn all the different modes
no, if you learn manual mode correctly
all you need is manual
>>
>>4480322
Nigga has you even heard of the Simpsons, Fambly Guy, Rick & Marty, Anime? Fuckin smurfs is still watched in 120 countries jfc. Transformers & shit…. Graphic novels??? Cartoons get watched and sold for $$$$ you dillweeds.
>>
>>4480409
Nah, anime except those like Studio Ghibli and a few slice of life animators don't reflect reality. Reality is always a twist and dull and monontonous. Reality is usually sad at funny moments but tries to be funny in humility to the sad moments. I personally prefer films that reflect that reality. The worlds that are not reflective of soldiers, cops, guns, and violence, but ordinary people just going through the day trying to have an ordinary life, and that to me is a story.
>>
>>4480413
Well when “reality” is the fucking Zach show your dumbass opinion will be worth something to anyone but yourself. Until then, your limitations are your own problem. Simpsons have been on the air for like 45 fucking years. Find me a live action show that comes anywhere near that ya dinguses.
>>
>>4477834
>The science of photons, electromagnetic radiation

truuu, I often enjoy viewing photos of girls experimenting with slits. As a photographer, it helps build my visual library
>>
>>4480470
Cool, then you'll know a bit more about physics and how the engineering of your camera works.
>>
still waiting for anyone to post a photo of a boson, hopefuly taken in an artistic manner
>>
>>4480485
You'd have to have specialized equipment and a lab to do that. A boson is a part of a photon too.

Here is some info on it. Please watch it instead of looking at my post for ways to make fun of me.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_1S6KfMzOH8&pp=ygUFQm9zb24%3D
>>
>>4480485
Im still waiting on an explanation of how any of this even improves your photography. Zach is a retarded nophoto hell bent on making dead /p/ even shittier than it already is.
>>
>>4480489
You're a fucking retard hellbent on finding flaws and mistakes. You look at a glass half full and idiotically says it is completely empty. Have you seen the post about my fucking imgur page I posted several times you god damn communist furry? No you haven't, you'd rather just bitch like the midget you are about my fucking text instead of contributing to it like an adult would.
>>
>>4480489
I will take Zach over cine/cANON 1000%
He doesn't have the same ego as the other two
>>
>>4480495
And I will take staring at shit in a toilet over reading jackass texts from people on this site who can't fucking be positive once in their fucking life. Always acting like they are this normal person in the room, and you know what you are. You are normal. You're normal as in fucking lame while all the crazy people you mock actually try to be creative and have fun.
>>
Fake zach melty. Kek
>>
>>4477834
Yeah, you shouldn't operate your digital camera without a phd in quantum mechanics
>>
>>4480516
However, understanding light does help you understand how your camera works.
>>
>>4477834
>Know the camera like a mechanic knows a car
Yeah if you want to scam single mothers you can either be a car mechanic or a jostens photographer so I guess you're right.
>>
>>4480588
No. I'll tell you what this is like. When the video game Crash Bandicot came out, the developer knew the PS1 so much he put a hack on the game to allow the game to use more data than it should. From doing that, Crash Bandicot had higher resolution graphics than a lot of games on the PS1. The same thing can happen with a camera. Say you know what am EF mount is. You being the common consumer would (I hate doing this NeoNazi speak but I have to to sell my point on this site) have to go to Jew BHPhoto on this site and Jew Amazon to buy new lenses. So now instead of buying from Jews you can buy a cheap lens from a Japanese guy on eBay (Jannies I tried speaking his language). Now imagine the same with lights. You don't want to buy all this expensive equipment when you know from how light works a few cheap high output lights will do. You know from reading the light meter on your phone at daylight there is enough light under a shade for a photo.
