>We are still continuing sensor development. However, we are still in the "technology development phase" and have not yet begun actual sensor design. We are currently working on pixel architecture design.>To be honest, the development project is a little behind schedule. This is because each time we prototype wafers and manufacture a prototype sensor, we discover new technical challenges. Since we have never designed a sensor independently before, we are currently learning through trial and error.>While the Foveon team was previously at the forefront, the project is now primarily led by the engineering team at Sigma's headquarters in Japan. Fortunately, technical issues are gradually decreasing, and we feel that the challenges are gradually being narrowed down. Once we are confident that the sensor is technically feasible, we plan to officially move on to the sensor design phase and begin preparations for mass production. How confident are you Sigma can make the full-frame Foveon happen, anon? Even if they can get it to market, how likely are you to invest in it?
>>4478302>how likely are you to invest in it?I will buy any camera that's weird, I will buy M4/3, I will buy Pentax, I will buy Pixii, I will buy 2009 medium formats. I will take pictures with a Blackmagic. As anything is better than being part of the Nikon/Sony/Canon FFags. And so I shall invest in Foveon if it comes out.
>>4478307>I shall invest in Foveon if it comes out. There's already several iterations of APS-C Foveon cameras by Sigma in compact, DSLR and mirrorless form.
>>4478307>being part of the Nikon/Sony/Canon FFags. But you are a part of the whole thing that is wrong about photography. As well as your counterparts you elevate the choice of gear to some kind of weird cult, where the brand of gear is placed above the actual action.
>>4478324I'm aware, I wanted to get a dp2 but couldn't find one - I meant the new full frame stuff >>4478344I don't like the whole "the camera is a tool" concept, I love quirky cameras. Most painters make a big deal about their paint.
>>4478344Ahhhh idk, sounds like OP had his heart in the right place. Innovation (even if foveon aps-c already exists and kind of flopped) is welcome since there's been little advancement in the market at all. It's not that gear is the pedastal, it's that options are welcome and can inspire people to do the thing (take a fucking photo).
>>4478359Yes, this is my point, I am more willing to buy products from niche/struggling cameras. Because they're almost always nicer to actually use.
>>4478302Own a DP3M, wouldn't buy another Foveon unless it becomes the common standard optionI wouldn't ever buy a camera for Foveon specifically at all
>>4478369How’s your experience been with it?
>>4478518Nta I have DP2M, the camera is very basic, there is no any kind of image stabilisation, no remote shutter, the battery runs out fast (I have 15 of them so that problem is more or less solved), af is slow, mf adjustment is unusable, controls in general are badly designed, writing to sdcard is slow, the formfactor is just a rectangle brick, it's not comfortable to hold.Foveon is bad in low light, it's bad at high iso. It's basically a tripod camera with a 2 second self timer, but in good conditions it takes amazing pictures. Also don't like the 45mm focal length.
>>4478302>How confident are you Sigma can make the full-frame Foveon happen, anon?Do gearfags on /p/ realize Foveon is dead? The promise of having all 3 color channels per pixel has been broken 12 years ago
>>4478795Do you just call everyone a gearfag?
>>4478803Do you have anything relevant to say other than sucking ths cock of a company which literally broke the only promise that tlmade them worth anything?
>>4478518Camera wise, performance like an early digicam (2005-8ish), awful AF, battery lucky for an hour of shooting, awful LCDIQ wise, awful above ISO 400For ISO 100, in hindsight it just feels like any other down sampled high-res image. Like take any 40-60mp and just resize down to 16-20mp, or just pixel peep at 50-75% instead of 100%If I cared about high res anymore, I'd go back to GFXMine was free and I never use it lol
>>4478302Just be a normal person and use an a7c and 35mm f2.8.
>>4478888Digits comfirmFoveon is truly dead.
>>4478795How about you talk like a decent person and less of this: "Man, these fucking lame ass photographers don't get the art of photography. Buncha pussies who don't know real photographers like Ansel Adams. Man the only people who get it are like the select few people on this website. Everyone else is retarded man. Fucking Zach over here talking like he is stuck in elementary school at 45. Fuck it's 2am and instead of taking photos I bitched about people."
>>4478965found the duped gearfag who bought a quattro for "muh colors" when in reality it works basically like a normal bayer matrix
>>4478967No, I'm the gearfag who can't stop having a goldilocks theory on morality and everything of the such and if it validates that theory automatically someone has issues. I'm a gearfag who has this goldilocks theory so far up my ass I can't properly see the decency in people for what it is, so I instead make my life miserable everyday with this idiocy I am unaware of that I accuse others of.
>>4478969What are you on about?
>>4478994zach is a mentally disabled man
>>4478888CONFIRMED: ALL YOU NEED IS AN A7C AND A 35MM F2.8
