>>4480506>bottom one too flatI don't think you know what flat means.
>>4480506damn im always over saturating my shit
>>4480499I like both but the first one is easier to see the arc of the water which makes the composition work better. In both, the water texture looks awesome. The second one is cool, looks like bloom effects(?) which I love but I like the contrast of the first one a bit more idk. As you can tell idrk what I’m talking about or what is “objectively” good editing, but just my 2 cents. Nice work anyway :D
>>4480508Well tell me what you think it means then. For me it means that it lacks local contrast and logic in relative illumination between objects. Have a look at the reflections in the water in various places, the skin of the girl on the foreground, the shadows on the building. All details here are lost. Also look at the difference in brightness between the sky and the building, the contrast is crushed (probably because the sky was overdarkened).
I just want to say, that has got to be one of the worst recent photo thread starting photographs I've ever seen. I mean, it's literally a photo of nothing.

>>4480912Really great stuff
So I've spent 30 minutes in my entire life taking pictures with a camera. Can someone tell me how to get every minifigure in focus? Perhaps a 50mm lens is not ideal for this but it's all I have right now.
>>4480913Thanks anon>>4480915Line them up perpendicular to the direction of the camera as perfectly as possible, and stop down your aperture (increase the F-number, try f/8 it might work depending on your working distance). Looks like you're shooting indoors so you will probably need some kind of extra light like a flash for a decent exposure.
>>4480916Thanks, according to gugl AI : The Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 S lens has a minimum working distance of 0.4 meters (1.32 feet). This is the closest the lens can focus to a subject, and the maximum reproduction ratio at this distance is 0.15x. Maybe I should invest in a macro lens for this type of stuff?
>>4480917Depends on what you want to get, if you want large magnifications macro lenses are needed but you will also have a tiny depth of field and a smaller field of view. Also keep in mind that macro is quite difficult for a complete beginner. You can always try to borrow a macro lens if you know someone who has one before buying.
>>4479188
>>4480813yes, fuji 400 on a bleached canon lens
>>4480912ok so how do you put everything in focus and so clear/sharp/noiseless ? and its not even 1million pixels wide? im fairly new and a lot of stuff is still unknown to me
>>4480915>>4480917You need macro lens if your subject is too small to fill the frame with a normal lens. This doesn't seem to be the case here..A macro lens would be more suitable for a close-up of an individual figurine's face. A macro lens won't help you get everything in focus. Increasing your depth of field and lining everything up like anons already suggested will. If that's the closest your camera can focus, just move the whole lineup or the camera 0.5-1 cm back, should be enough to get the closest part (their faces?) in focus as well. One thing about manipulating aperture is, narrowing it too much will make the whole picture less sharp. f/8 should be perfectly fine with any camera, but don't go way below that (f/16 would be an overkill, bigger number = narrower aperture).Another trick would be focus stacking, but that's probably too advanced for someone with 30 minutes of experience.
>>4480932Are you talking about the pic you quoted or the minifigures?
>>4480937
>>4480939
>>4480936the pano, im not the minifigures guy
>>4480940
>>4480942Fumbled this one, didn't have time to work the scene
>>4480943
>>4480940i like this one very cool
>>4480941For this shot I made sure to shoot at a rather narrow aperture (f/8) to get a long depth of field. You need to close down even further when the focus point is closer if you want a distant background to be in focus. I also picked a shutter speed fast enough to prevent motion blur (1/400). An easy rule of thumb is to use at least 1/focal length (50 mm here so it was more than fine). Also keep the ISO sensitivity as close to the native sensitivity as possible that still allows to use this combination of aperture/speed - the native ISO is often around 100, it depends on the camera. Then it's a matter of processing to make sure you have the desired exposure, contrast, sharpening and color rendition. In this case I actually stitched 6 vertical images together and the original image is actually 16000x6100 pixels wide.
>>4480905Eh, it's already kinda over here, and it was very dark and moody with almost no sunny days. Average day looked like picrel.Still, I enjoyed chasing squirrels and birbs around every weekend, so no complains from me.Great shots btw, being a city dweller, it's always nice to see nature proper.
>>4480955Yeah same thing here, these photos are a month old. I know the feeling I spent a lot of time enjoying the colours lately, but now I have more than a thousand of photos to sort and process which is kind of a daunting prospect. Still a few sunny days and trees that kept some leaves though, I hope I can get some more shots before winter settles. Have a firecrest
>>4480957Nice pose and cool bird I haven't yet encountered, thanks.Afraid I can only offer a plain old tit in return.Only tits and squirrels last weekend.
>>4480964A plain old tit but a much better photo, sharp bird and smooth background. What lens were you using? You wildlife pics have a really nice look. And what kind of caveman doesn't like tits anyway

Lovely Victorian frontage on a market full of arabs, inbreeding and vomit.
>>4481051looked alright before being uploaded here, compression def did something to itanyway. yeah they are fucking nice right
>>4480966Thanks, I recently upgraded to RF 100-500.The thing is very nice. Light, sharp and versatile, perfect for roaming around with.Crazy good stabilization as well, which doesn't help much with tits but for some less neurotic birds you can go to 1/60 or even 1/30 at 500mm and still get a sharp photo.Hence the sharpness, as even on darker days ISO can be kept relatively low. But I really do wish for some good weather soon, cause now that I've seen how well this lens can do at it's worst, I want to see it at it's best as well.
>>4481056>>4481036>>4480911cozy>>4481039braptilda>>4480964Super great pic anon. Favorite so far
>>4481081Nice, I've bought a sigma 150-600 recently and I try to never go below 1/400 even with image stabilization. It still feels like this isn't enough especially for these fast tits and warblers - although it often seems like slow speeds are needed when they're not in direct sunlight. I guess I need to get better lighting and technique. Let's all hope for good weather to get these fast shutter speeds. You still got a great result right there in any case

Taken this summer, recently edited. The raw file was burnt as shit, I was surprised there was so much information still left in there.Overexposing then bringing the exposure back in post might become a new favorite of mine, this is not the first time I've had good results by "accident" while trying long exposure + icm.

>>4481975Okay then you have to be either 12 years old or down right retarded. Or a troll. There is a difference between violating the private space of a stranger walking down the street when you stick your camera right into their face or paparazzi some celebrities, which I find down right awful to do. But these guys are part of some event. There are at least 10-20 photographers snapping at them. They know it and they don't care. It's part of their job.
>>4481975And nobody gives a fuck about 4chan. What difference does it make if it's posted here or on IG. It's a difference, again, if these would be a private pic from private people.
>>4481084Thanks.>>4481102I used sigma 150-600 before, the 'contemporary' version. It's decent, but bulky and not very convenient, especially compared to RF 100-500. It's reach advantage makes it more appropriate for stationary bird photography with a monopod or something. The thing I've learned about fast-moving little birds is that it's all or nothing with them. You either have to go like 1/800+ to properly freeze their movements, or as far down as you can to "fish" for those rare moments when they freeze up for a second or two observing their surroundings. For the former you obviously need good lighting conditions, so I usually opt for the latter. And any middle ground between the two options never really worked for me, in the end you still get a bunch of blurry photos, and the sharp ones are a lot noisier.
I feel like pic related is blurry, but I dunno if it's my lens, shutter speed, or some other setting on my camera>>4482051Nice one, anon, I dig it>>4481942
>>4481940I love following creeks and finding cool looking scenes, but the photos I take of them always look too busy to me afterwards.
