Are all people in the cinema industry dickheads?
Been looking around r/cinematography and people there seem to be a mix of audiophile retardation and pretentiousness of the highest order

Are you a dickhead? I’ve just read your post and it’s incredibly narrow-minded and masturbatory.

>I went to reddit and didn't like it so I came here to complain about reddit

Such is the issue of having a username and profile. Ever notice tripfags here have the same traits?

Yes. I can’t tell who is a bigger asshat, the film cunts who require all film to be shot at 24fps with a 180deg shutter or else, or digi cunts who require $300k worth of digi shit gear (only to spend months trying to make it look like film but worse) to shoot their crappy doc on that no one’s ever going to watch anyway.

Movies were made to put asses in theaters. Post-Covid everyone got comfortable just watching series’ses on their own theaters & ever since the movie racket has been dying a steady death & theaters are fucking dead, dying or repurposing into other uses nationwide.

Bollywood will ultimately be the last film industry standing, bc 1 billion Indians can’t afford home theater systems, & it’s still more f7n to go see a big song & dance robot spectacle in a theater full of people cracking up. Ameritards are stuck in 9/11/iraq/trump doomerism and need our Jesus/hero/greatfather power & wealth worship fantasies, so what we get is marvel shit & “wish I was a badass thiiiis big” wet dreams. The crunch is driving American film biz insane as they die in the collapse of americunt society, it’s fun to watch.

Yes and I'll tell you why. Head over to /tv and find yourself a group of tv and film enthusiasts interested enough to spend all hours of the day talking about it in countless threads on that page. Now tell them your ideas, no matter how basic, about filmmaking. Any ideas at all. Think of three even extremely simple tenets you like about film, and write them there. Now behold, the abject stupidity in the replies that will follow. The people who live to watch film and shows, are absolute media-illiterate, proudly uncritical ignoramuses. If you endeavor to create something as big and expensive as a film, you will need to take it fairly seriously and really think some shit through when you do it, and that's on top of more than likely having gone to school and studied what works and doesnt work in film productions for several years. And it will all be lost on these fucking imbeciles. You will absolutely come to resent the idiots that make up your viewers because they are in fact willfully stupid as hell and violent about remaining so. In contrast to them, you will be a fucking pretentious prick because you took film as seriously as you needed to to make one.

I've worked with enough directors to have noticed that they don't spend time with movie people or talk about film in their personal lives, and now I can see why. Movie fans are exactly as shit as cynical studio executives say they are.

>calling the /tv/ community stupid ignorant imbeciles
Pretty ironic coming from a /p/haggot, the board where fujifags and sonyboys congregate to jerk each other off over snapshits of strangers' backs, trash cans and hobos, pretending street is art
>>
>>4484194
You mean the board where you and cANON just lie and say dumb shit all the time?
>>
>>4484195
Where's the lie? Pressing a button isn't art.

The top-mint tier autists here will defend photography as a pure artform until they choke on their hassleblyats.
Cameras do not make art. Cameras archive moments in time and nothing more. If a photo makes you feel something, or invokes any feeling of ""art"" then it's the scene doing that to you, not the photo.
Photography just makes those scenes more accessible.

Does anyone think taking a photo of a cheetah in Africa is noteworthy because the photog successfully didn't fuck up exposure? No. People liked looking at the photo because there's no cheetahs in their area. and it's an interesting thing to look at.
That's the whole concept of Nat Geo.

The type of person to die on this hill is usually a technology nerd who doesn't know how to draw or paint but wants credit for being artistic without actually putting in any effort.

>calling the tv tards stupid
that's not what the post says, it says to go there and talk about filmmaking and see for yourself how stupid they are in response. lol are you illiterate or just a dipshit being overly defensive bc you're one of them?
>>
>>4484201
Photography *can* be art, but not all of it is.
>>4484203
It's hardly a secret I have a /tv/ presence. Cinephiles tend to do that.
>>
Yeah those guys take themselves too fucking seriously. I didn't like that community since it turned into a jerkoff fest to liberal politically correct film industry bullshit and expensive camera equipment. Literally let me tell you a story, I posted the most hipster bullshit in the world on r/Filmmakers with a 16mm film camera and it got 500 upvotes. Just goes to show how pretentiously retarded they are. Fucking just posted a picture of a god damn film camera and instantly got likes. Compare that to talking about real advice on how to operate a camera or the insides of it, and you got a douchebag industry that hates learning.
>>
I mean at least here on 4chan I get people who love learning from my posts. Reddit never wants to learn, as they just regurgitate bullshit over and over again. And what I write ain't even overtly political like Reddit!
>>
>>4484205
Cringe

They're white? They give awards to Spanish/Mexican folk from the guilt of it. Asians took to digital media and dick worship the shallow graves of what's left of the french new wave. It all ended with Kubrick.

FNW was a mistake. Navel gazing cin*philes.
>>

>cinephile here, I watch tv like a professional tv watcher bc this formulaic bullshit written at a 5th grade level is serious business worth discussing as "art"
>surely everyone here thinks about me and cares about me and keeps track of where I go and post all of my brilliant thoughts

Hoooly fuck. Cringe doesn't even cover this. Get a fucking friend.
